I hope not. I played the BETA and it's a pretty different thing.
I never played FFXV what is with the shit looking controls?
>is this replacing ffxiv or what?
wouldn't surprise me
not like ff14 has had any fucking content since the expansion launch a few months ago
>I never played FFXV what is with the shit looking controls?
in XV you play as a prince with magic moveset. in this one you play as a normal numan and they have to change things. it doesn't look too bad.
>Still hasn't cleared O4S
Nah
It's just mission after mission. At least XIV had a better story than XV
And anything in XV wishes it could come even close to fucking ARR extremes. Everythingin XV is just braindead even compared to MMOs
Also xv-kun kill yourself i know you're here 24/7 anyway
>tfw got Bard and Summoner to 70 but still haven't done Titan Extreme
JUST
>At least XIV had a better story than XV
>Everythingin XV is just braindead even compared to MMOs
>Also xv-kun kill yourself i know you're here 24/7 anyway
you need help. we are talking chris-chan levels here.
What the fuck is wrong with SE? Just let it die already.
looks like shit
I think it looks pretty good. I'll probably play it with some friends until monhun drops.
Wasn't this shit supposed to be during World of Ruin? Why the fuck is there still sunlight?
what even is this game supposed to be at this fucking point, it seems like SE is fucking desperate to milk this shit and not make a proper game. inb4 barry comes and shits up this thread as usual
yawn, looks like they fixed nothing from the shitty combat.
Not going to by the pass and renew PS+ for this shit
Pretty sure they said it got darker over time.
>Comrades
i'm not xv-kun but I had fun with this dumb game. Got it day one and didn't get to play it for a few days. The story is complete shit but whatever they threw out everything versus 13 had going for it so ok i guess. The first half of the game is legitimately enjoyable. Broquest with the bros and little things like their voiceclips and hanging out reminded me of days with my friends. "muh precious bois." Then the railroaded story literally railroaded. Turned the game to maximum unfun. I never cared about the story but the characters got me eventually. The gameplay is nothing crazy I liked the fishing more than the combat. Like I really liked the fishing. I even got to play the multiplayer. I'm letting the game breath before I go back for the character episodes and other nonsense but I want to get all the cheetos trophies etc. in order to get my monies worth. It wasn't a complete train wreck but it certainly isn't worth full price. I give this game a 3 out of 5. Since I had just beaten 13 a few months before playing this for the first time by comparison this game was a 9eleven out of 5. Just don't expect traditional final fantasy fantasy out of it.
>replacing FFXIV
>Expansion
Prove him wrong
Hell no, it's just small missions where you kill everything in seconds with some online buddies because the enemy AI can't handle more than one player at a time without throwing out some cheap shit
Was this clip supposed to highlight how you stay directly in front of enemies and rage when they hit you?
Are you dense? The inconsistentcy of stunlocking is immediately obvious.
KH has better stunlocking.
it's not 100% of the time but when things get stunned are consistent across the entire series
Not him, but the initial hit had a 1.2x multiplier on it, which tells me the first warp strike was done from far away resulting in more damage and more stun. I think he cut off the beginning of the webm on purpose because it would be too obvious if he didn't.
muh enemies dont cry when i hit them!
Fucking dodge then man i dont know what to tell you..
>Nigtis
I'm still mad that XV have more character customization than XIV.
Things that aren't remotely true for 500
lmao those textures
>Since I had just beaten 13 a few months before playing this
On steam? Did you plat that too? Showmme them hours of suffering broseph
>instead of compacting more story inbetween the base game while also fixing the combat, they keep throwing random content like darts to a wall
NUDE MODS
I own FFXV but never bothered with all this extra garbage they've been making, is this all money-grabbing shit where they charge you for DLC that should have been part of the game to begin with, or are these actual meaningful free updates that make the game worth playing again? Someone explain pls
There are some free patches that add useless shit but anything relevant you have to pay for except for seeing chapter 13 from Gladios' perspective
So it's money-grabbing shit then. Squeenix can fuck off, I paid full-price for the game when it came out and I'm not giving them another penny.
The former, they're even thinking about making even more dlc with all the leftover story they supposedly have so you'll have to pay even more money to get it
The free updates are mostly pointless filler to make it seem like they actually care
Yeah pretty much
>I don't understand the fundamental mechanics of an ARPG
as expected of an XV fanboy
The beta was fucking terrible. You're restricted to tiny camps and missions. I just want to fuck around in the world with my friends.
nah dude played it on ps3 i think I totaled around 50 hours or so doing missions. I thought it was a joke when people were talking about the 20 hour tutorial. The weirdest part was when it finally clicked that the combat system wasn't so much a turn based rpg as much as it was like a weird rhythm game to build stagger ASAP and then juggle assholes up in the air.
I went in hating the system until I unlocked buffs and debuffs like hasteaga and slowga then it became really fun. My main team was like Sahz Vanille and Hope but in the end I had to use some cookie cutter shit to beat orphan due to how the boss fight was designed.
Some of the boss fights were actually pretty fun when I was just juggernauting infinite stagger. Same was true for the Oerba town where I was so underleveled if any of the enemies got to move they would one shot me but the stagger juggle was too real.
Snow is so fucking unlikeable in ff13. Also so is most of the cast.
Usually the second bart fight ends up being the huge stonewall for everybody so it's neat to hear somebody getting the combat system early on
>Usually the second bart fight ends up being the huge stonewall for everybody
I thought it was the first one
The first one is hard but doable for the average player. The second one stone walls you if by some chance you were able to make it to him while still being underleveled.
Respectively the entire 13's stone walls are
Bart 1-2 + Orphan
Caius Ballad + Final Boss
Caius Ballad (again)
Everything outside of these respective fights are easy as hell. But goodness gracious are they a bit much.
I liked snow. I don't think we've had a character like him in FF so far.
I had more issues with the Hectoncher boss fight in XIII than
Admittedly I kind of rolled all over the final boss but every single normal fight leading up to that was a friggin nightmare. I'm not exaggerating when I say that very well might have been the worst RPG Final Dungeon that I have ever experienced. And I don't say that lightly
really barthandeleus was the thing? I remember playing the 360 version at a friends and he was stuck at Cid Raines. I was like "stuck at Cid pop that fucker in I like/hate that game" I beat Cid in one go and he was like what the fuck was that?
Explain the secrets of rhythm tengoku 13
Sounds like XV is Monster Hunter which I enjoy and 14 is WoW with cat ears which I haven't been in the mood for in a long time.
>kh-kun is at it again
It's about as Monster Hunter as Final Fantasy Explorers. And if you've played that title you should know why some things are better avoided.
just do it unsynced user. Grab some peeps from your free company ...you ARE in a free company, aren't you? or PF and knock it out. shouldn't take more than a few minutes
>He doesn't understand why I need to see tears when I touch an enemy
not him but I never played FF Explorers
I pray you never do. It's better if you expunge the knowledge that it exists from your brain to spare yourself the taint.
That bad?
Why is it bad?
>XV is Monster Hunter
>XIV is just cat girls
a gamergate faggot being retarded. who woulda thunk
what the fucks going on in that image
Terrible customization
Stiff controls
Horrible difficulty curve
Turning into your favorite FF heroes only for them to still control poorly
Nobody you know plays this so have fun playing with anybody.
The game itself explains very little and way too fucking much at once at the same time. Suffers from pacing issues that no game should have in this age.
Just to name a few things.
The eidolon puzzle fights were uhhhh an interesting concept but I don't remember them being very entertaining. They always had a weird gimmick like
>keep healing in order to stagger/build gestault gauge
what? ok
I would have to look back through the series but immediately Bartz stands out as a loveable hotblooded blockhead without being a pedophile nerd. Snow was a 35 year old man hanging out with a gang of #teens. I mean I guess he was a foil to all the grizzled veterans like Auron, Cid(7), Orlandeau (tg cid), Cyan, Leo.
But even as like a beach bum there were characters like Laguna, Balthier, and Galuf who were older but still laid back. Shit even Sahz was chill for an older character. Maybe I just don't appreciate him but Snow at least in 13 came off as an insufferable cunt even if he was attempting an optimistic positive influence of an insufferable cunt.
>a gamergate faggot being retarded.
>gamergate
how is that relevant to anything?
>what the fucks going on in that image
Who knows? It was posted by a delusional fanboy
is it worth a pirate (once I know where to get 3DS roms)
>Conveniently ignores the WoW part
Snow's like 20 or something. Bartz is a blockhead but not really a leader for most of the game. I like that Snow is a guy that tries to move forward even when he's not really sure what to do. Most FF character have to have a 5 minute monologue about how unsure they are.
Sometimes decisively making a mediocre decision is better than sitting around doing nothing.
>is it worth a pirate
The age old expression "time is money" holds true here. As it it turns out, this time "free" does not make returns in reference to your time investment.
Stay far away user unless you end up being exceptionally bored.
Whoever is playing this game does it no favours in making it look fun man.
>he doesn't recognize the girl in the picture
the MonHun comparison was far more offensive
is that five nights at freddy's
I didn't even look at the pics
Cucks get triggered everytime
I think you're helping me identify why I don't like Snow. He was "the fool" where all the other characters would in fact flounder in uncertainty he would just go "haha im a hero its fine lets just see what happens." Meanwhile the others minus vanille and fang are dealing with "fuck we're gonna turn into monsters if we don't become terrorists and destroy our home!?"
He either has no scruples or is literally a retard. He doesn't bother to consider any of what's going on but merely moves forward due to lizard brain. Even when his daughter wife was crystalized with no way of getting out he just sat there and kept chipping away at it until he realized he was doing the floundering and went back to "I'll put a piece in my pocket then we're still together!" Which is when he got Shivacycle. The whole game rewards his ignorance, but I guess as a tool of Orphan he was the most L'cie out of the entire group.
fuckin snow man. Also his weapon is literally bedazzling his jacket.
I think the group would have just given up without his bullshit brave face tactics. Sazh wants to off himself lightning just picks a target and turns her brain off vanille runs away etc. I'd rather try to stay positive and move forward.
Either way, I think he was an archetype FF hadn't done before.
Not him but in order
Sazh comes to terms when he realizes that the only thing he can do is keep moving forward
Vanille gets talked out of hiding the truth when Fang tricks her.
Lightning changes when she protects Hope from Odin and realizes that the lessons she was teaching him and who he planned to use her gift for was an exceptionally bad and stupid idea.
Fang stays Fang forever but her development is trusting her allies that aren't just Vanille.
The only person who develops because of Snow is Hope and that's just him realizing that his revenge was stupid and he was stupid and he still has to get his actual character arc finished by other people (and his Eidolon) helping him convince himself he's not a burden to the team.
Snow actually did surprisingly very little as a person for anybody and even in the sequels he's busy accomplishing nothing but holding back a monster that ultimately doesn't matter (13-2) and becoming a bitch because he couldn't save his waifu from an unavoidable death (Lightning Returns)
playing assass festival rn
>did you see that cute blonde?
yeah everyone noticing Cindy I bet
>yeah he even had a nice camera!
turn around Prompto is surrounded by three dudes talking about him
i think das fune
XV wishes it's combat and enemy AI and mvoests were even 10% as good as any MH
It's literally just mash two buttons with your friend and watch style over stubatnce unfold
You're only talking about their eidolon fights. They say on the Ark flat out that only Snow's bullshitery kept them moving forward when he starts to doubt himself.
13-2 I don't remember much about what he did.
13-3 didn't he save a lot of lives as the patriarch when things got bad?
I didn't play 13-2 or 13-3 lightning returns.
Does Snow get temporally cucked by Noel? Is 13-2 or 13-3 fun at all? or are they like 10-2 in that they reused a bunch of assets to cash in on a popular title while it still had hype around it?
13-2 is interesting
13-3 is a mess
13-2 is mostly reused assets but it's fairly fun and has some pokemon shit going on. 13-3 feels like a totally different game and is like an arpg majoras mask sort of vibe.
