Megami Tensei literally never came to the states, and almost nobody, even the most dedicated veterans, would have any kind of reference outside of google to call the series "MT". It would be outright incorrect of them.

"MegaTen" is an old term used by the old fans to shorthand Megami Tensei, and it's still entirely wrong to use for Westerners beyond trying to sound cooler. The entire franchise is the Megami Tensei series, but Shin Megami Tensei is the only thing that ever got an actual official localization. Playing "I'm so cool I know my information from wikis" with titles is beyond nitpicky and shows more that you're a faggot who more than likely has never played anything outside of Nocturne, but wants to act like he's a master of the series. I'm pretty sure you don't even realize that the series stems from a book.

And if you're referring to the entire franchise, it is indeed correct. Just because they only localized a small fraction of the games in the west doesn't make those the only ones to exist, you're acting like the franchise outside of the localized titles doesn't matter.
