Hold L1 + Jump = Trickster
Hold L1 + Gun = Gunslinger
etc
One of the few good ideas DmC had with Demon Angel mode but it was fucking stupid tying weapons to them, I don't see why it wouldn't work with styles though.

Style Switching is a good idea, putting on the D Pad is fucking retarded, having to take your thumb off the analog to do it is annoying and frankly just bad design, there is a reason you don't have to take your fingers off your movement control to switch weapons, there is no excuse for style switching to be on the D Pad, like I said I'd like the idea but if unified or stuff like a dedicated dodge button are necessary to keep the pace and depth of combat as good as contemporaries like Bayonetta does with its controls then so be it, it'd be better than the only seeming alternative.
You should try to get through DMC1. It took me some time before I started to really like it. DMC2 is shit, I stopped playing after an hour. DMC3 and DMC4 are my favorite.

I too have had getting really into Bayonetta. Maybe it's the camera that's too high up, maybe it's the angels which just aren't that menacing, maybe the game is actually too slick, maybe she just has too many moves and not enough distinct uses for them, maybe it's that the music is too fabulous.
DMC2 may be a shit game but it at least gave us a few neat things that would later be improved upon for 3.

I think it's all the moves. So many combos thrown in your face right at the start. I like how in DMC you start off with just a few moves and you get more and more and it feels awesome. In Bayonetta, you get more moves, but I already didn't even master the ones I already had. Just not for me, I guess.

Bayonetta is supposed to be the top of the line, but I don't want to sound like a hipster for disliking it, while considering a more basic game like Darksiders better.

Not him. I played it this year for the first time. It's not the worst, but it's up there. I just came off DMC1 when I played it, so it's not because it's outdated or anything. The enemies seem like they belong in a completely different genre. Their attack patterns are just random, bosses are just sponges with laughably easy to evade attacks. Don't make me post the helicopter fight video again.
