>giving a shit about specs when 4 year old hardware can run virtually anything

This. Who the fuck is nothing anything past a 4770k and a 1070

that hat is pretty resistant

>mfw 3570k

i still can't believe this is actually happening

Actually this, I'm still running my 770ti and I can run most games just fine

ITT: plebs having pleb-talk

First post best post, as usual

Try running Witcher 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider max detail 8k/144fps you Gpulet.

My 1050ti runs pretty great medium setting 90 fps most games. No reason to pay so much.

>8k 144fps is "just fine"

>I5-4690k
It just werks.

Wait can someone give me a slow walkup

Still running a 2500k

Stock speed

That's right, stock.

>tfw my 5 year old CPU can still run everything

So the i7 8700K matches the 7700K when the 7700K is overclocked to be running where the heat output matches the surface temperature of the sun.

Seems like a good generational advancement. Now if only Intel FIXED THE FUCKING TIM SO IT COULD DISPLACE HEAT PROPERLY.

Also, I'm pretty sure that graph is multi-core performance. So yeah, Ryzen dominates for workload tasks. But games aren't optimized these days, so Intel will continue to win out for gaming in anything under 4K. 4K is the spot where the CPU says fuck it and it leans 100% on the GPU.

'leaked'

What? Also, I've been waiting till Cannonlake... only for them to delay it till 2018... Only for IcyLake to be confirmed for 2019. So is it gonna be delayed like Cannonlake was?

Yeah, at 1080p 60fps locked.

>1080p is still good enough!

>cinebench benchmark
the 8000 series wont be worth an upgrade but the 7700k still destroys every ryzen cpu by far, if you do anything else besides browsing the web and playing games get a ryzen

if you just game, get an intel

>'leaked'

Hmmm.

/thread

>Still destroying Ryzen in single thread performance

I can run anything at 1080p 50-60 fps with my 5770 and 970.
Why would I give a fuck to buy anyother hardware?

intel is fucking finished

>Over 70% the price
>Over 2x the power consumption
>Barely over 25% the speed

eteknix.com/intel-core-i9-7980xe-extreme-edition-review/6/

>cinebench

Literally a piece of shit benchmark. I stopped using my PC last year and I would still never care about cinebench.

In fact, who cares about CPU performance for gaming? It's literally 95% GPU work anyway. The only faggots who pay attention to CPU scores are poorfags who game on integrated chips with their kids.

Just buy the best current gen CPU you can get for the best price and shut the fuck up.

>4K is the spot where the CPU says fuck it and it leans 100% on the GPU.
1080p is the gpu too. and always has been.
That is why shilling outlets on the web desreased the quality to minimim and ran games at 480p so there would be some difference.
In normal games it's always a GPU limit and the CPU changes 7fps when you fun the game at 90fps.

I hope you enjoy having to buy 2 different chipset MOBO's for those CPU's

>It's literally 95% GPU work anyway
How does it feel to be this stupid?

>tfw too chickenshit to overclock the CPU because I always find a way to break the things

...

>that setup
my fucking nigga, literally the same GPU and CPU
god tier shit

not everyone is a super ultra mega poorfag

>literally trying to justify having to buy a whole new MOBO to support a whole new chipset only a year apart

>being loyal to a brand
I will never in my life understand this.

Gimme a 15 game average or fuck off. Nobody cares about anything but real world benchmarks.

>1080p is still good enough!
yep, sure is
glad we agree

Really, if you want to shit on Intel, their latest CPU when clocked up properly takes a 1000W power draw.

4690k and a 970 will play whatever i throw at it until im ready for a new build in 3-4 years

>My half dead 970 can still run everything on max
>Only reason I have to replace it is a dying fan

I too only ever use one thread

I wonder what the most IPC/energy efficient, non laptop/mobile cpu is these days.

1080ti and 1700x
Much smoother than my 6700k

Back to Sup Forums or r/AMD same shit

>he fell for the meme res
more money than sense

541 W FOR A FUCKIN CPU
MY PSU IS ONLY 550 HOLY SHIT

>meme res
what are you talking about?

>770ti

Dont increase your voltage if you are scared, just increase the multiplier till its unstable.

I've been thinking about getting a new processor, the one I have is a shitty i3-4130. My friend keeps saying I don't need one whenever I bring it up because I can already run all the games I want to play, but I still feel like I should upgrade. What do you guys think?

Buy a I5-4690k for $60 in ebay or a Haswell Xeon.

Yeah I was looking at an i5, might have been a 4690 but I can't remember. Is my friend right though, do I really need it if I can already run the games I play?

Not exactly.
Upgrade your CPU when you cant run something because a CPU bottleneck or when you get a GPU that is too good for your CPU.

Think about upgrading everything else, GPU, SSD, atleast 8GB RAM, etc.
Could you post a screenshot of your build?

>muh leaks

typical amdrone

Speccy Screenshot to be exact.

Right?

who knew it'd last so fucking long.

Yeah it'll be a little while for me before I'm at my computer but if the thread's still alive I'll post it

Running a 4790k and a 980ti.
Can play any game at any settings i want.
No reason to upgrade.

>MFW

>benchmarks
name one good game that uses more than 4 cores

Just fix the fan dude.

>4 years ago could run my whole fucking computer on 500W
>now have to dedicate all 500W just to power the CPU

lmao

My 970 has been serving me for years and still runs like a champ. I'll need a new monitor before I need a new GPU.

4k, hardcore emulation, and VR is getting stupid high requirements because incompetent devs.

It's not a waste to invest in the future if you're building something new. There's hardly any need to upgrade, but as someone else already said, hardware not only gets obsolete, it malfunctions and gets damaged, sometimes you buy shit just to replace older shit that died, and old shit is almost as expensive as the new one.

>almost 2017+1
>one thread performance

ebin

But can you run Demon Souls?

>higher power usage
>higher temperatures
>shitty TIM
>fewer PCI lanes
>no ECC support
>marginally better performance and significantly higher price compared to Threadripper
What the fuck was Intel thinking with the i9 series?

jseed did nothing wrong.

Alright here it is, sorry it took so long. It's pretty shit but it still runs the stuff I want

For better gaming performance do it in this order:
Get a better GPU once prices(if ever) stabilize, should be $130-200, GTX 1050Ti, RX 570, GTX 1060 6GB whatever fits your budget between those 3.
Another 8GB stick with the same speeds and timings.
A SSD at last.

Unless you are emulating your CPU is just werks tier.
Your motherboard doesn't let you use a unlocked CPUs (Intel K series) properly since its a H87 chipset (You need Z87 or Z97 for haswell) so get a cheap locked I5.

Alright I'll do that if I ever run into a game I want to play but can't run. Thanks user

Outside your CPU your computer is not exactly bad.
A bit outdated but will run most if not all games.
Not exactly a lot to update if you are happy the way it is.
If anything just put a GTX 1050Ti and dont upgrade anything else since the GPU upgrade its the only thing that will increase how and what you can run and be worth it unlike the RAM and SSD.

4770k will be good for years yet!

I have enough money to upgrade every single part of my PC but I can't spend a dime of it because I'm saving up for another hair transplant. Feels bad man
