This is going to be the GOAT Sonic game, and is already better than the confirmed flop known as Mania.

Well, it doesn't look amazing, and the music is very "Sonic 4" in how it is basically completely unfocused drivel with Genesis drums thrown in, but it still looks better than pretty much everything else that's been shown off of the game so far. So that's something... I guess?

2006 was filled with development problems with members of the teams leaving and SEGA deadlines halting further development on the game, leaving it as an incomplete buggy game.

This game has been in development for 4 years and Sonic Team have shown they have the utmost confidence in it. There’s no sign of 06 at all in this game and you and every other faggot are just using it as a buzzword to give this game a negative connotation because it doesn’t fiddle your diddle.

I was gonna say special stages but then I remembered this is a Modern game.

This is exactly what I was afraid of in the unveil trailer with classic sonic. Sonic Team doesn't really know what they're doing so they mishmash a bunch of stuff people liked in hope that they'll like it all again.

Why are all the levels in this game so short? Every level they've shown so far can be completed in under 2 minutes. Are they even trying?

We've been informed that Classic's campaing is about him and Tails, seems like he got separated from Modern Sonic, maybe after their first Infinite encounter. To be honest that's kind of interesting, I'd love it if they caused havoc on the sidelines and that affected gameplay during Modern/Avatar stages.

Hating things is fun, and hating things that deserve it is even better. Forces looks like garbage, and everyone can laugh about it together.

Sonic 1&2 at worst, maybe (and even then, the awful synth in Green Hill is clearly isn't Genesis-themed), but by the time they reached Sonic 3 the songs were much more intricate and far beyond the songs Forces has offered so far.
It's a dumb point anyway, having this sort of pseudo-genesis songs in a completely different context is stupid to begin with, what was wrong with Generation's approach to Classic levels?

The music sounds like it's consciously harkening back to those specific titles and it sort of works in Casino Forest. I wouldn't have minded the Generations approach to Classic Sonic though, songs like Planet Wisp Classic are heavenly.

Where are the enemies? Why is there such an overabundance of rings? Why didn't they fix the stale, momentum-less physics of Generations?
I feel Generations at least had some thought put into its level design and presentation.
Every piece of footage they put out of Forces just looks shallow and uninspired. The only hook they have is the story which is just YouTube fodder.

What a creative name, wow I'm so impressed. Sarcasm aside Forces just screams passionless and that nobody at Sonic Team cares about this project. Just imagine if the Mania Team were this creatively bankrupt and called Mirage Saloon "Desert Bar", this is so embarrassing.

Sonic Forces is a total rehash of Generations (despite them insisting at the reveal event that it isn't a sequel) and they clearly didn't even try to fix any of Generations problems and adding more problems.

The character creator is clearly their "break glass in case of series death emergency" gimmick and they are bolting it onto a low-effort cash grab to make tons of sales. The worst part is it will work and there is no going back, every mainline Sonic game will now have to have a character creator or everyone will complain. Sonic himself will probably be phased out and reduced to an NPC.
