I don't care for a opinion of someone over a game if they can't even reach its credit
>getting lost in metroid fusion
give up on life
these videos dont feel like donkey videos theyre boring and not creative
his opinion is also always as safe as possible
Man I didn't know dunkey was such a shitter.
His voice is annoying, I can not see his videos.
>I can not see his videos.
You're blind or something? It's right there.
>>getting lost in metroid fusion
>give up on life
Disingenuous asshole - you know good and well he didn't "get lost", he was stuck because the game expected him to bomb exactly the right part of an unmarked tile.
Can't watch the video till I get home.
What are his negatives to bring it down to a 3?
A Dunkey 3/5 is an easy 8+/10 comparatively, especially given he admittedly doesn't really like the Metroid series. He highlights all of this in his game critics video, stop trying to turn him into Jim Sterling.
He is a comedian not a legit reviewer.
He is actually funny but his reviews are based upon his feelings.
His reviews aren't that bad.
You have it backwards; he basically applauds the game for improving on the classic Metroid formula but points out small areas where it could have been improved (more enemy variety, linearity compared to other Metroidvanias).
Repeated boss fights and not having as many enemy types as Hollow Knight. That's it.
He spent the majority of the video bitching about other Metroid titles being cryptic or bullshit.
>his reviews are based upon his feelings.
All reviews are based on feelings you autist, it's called having an opinion.
Was he right?
He sucks at video games. He couldn't even figure out using bombs to jump while in morphball, for crying out loud.
He's said before that a 3/5 is a solid game. He isn't IGN where anything below a 9 is irredeemable trash
He's right. Samus Returns is just okay. Hopefully Metroid V is better and isn't visually horrendous, which I'm surprised he didn't mention.
>He spent the majority of the video bitching about other Metroid titles being cryptic or bullshit.
Can you define the difference between "bitching" and regular criticism? You probably can't and are just fanny-flustered.
It's bitching when he dislikes an element of something that I like.
>all reviews are based upon feelings
I seriously hope you are bating right now.
Samus Returns is the best looking Metroid game period if you have the 3d on.
It's bottom of the barrel trash if you have it off.
Kinda stunning actually. The rediculous difference in quality.
>complains about getting lost in Metroid Fusion
I can't take any of this video seriously after that
>waiting is bad
???
no, metroid games have never been about intensive fast paced gameplay, a big crucial part of metroid was investigating rooms and solving puzzles, this guy is absolutely retarded, he didn't understand metroid at all.
What makes a reviewer legit? Accepting bribes from gaming companies?
Stop shilling this nigger subhuman here, cuck.
I thought E celebs weren't allowed
bitching as in he shows actual design faults and nintenbros are pissing themselves
>I don't like these games because they don't hold my hand enough
Opinion discarded.
>HDAD
WHAT DID HE MEAN BY THIS
Is this the Sup Forums version of "Don't talk about Batman V Superman on Sup Forums"
I don't know how you get stuck there desu senpai
I didn't even get stuck there when I was 10 and I wasn't even using a walkthrough. Just seemed like common sense in a metroid game to bomb the floor.
desu he has legitimate points
why cant you atleast blow bombs up with X/Y/L/R/B/A
>Implying a guy who has almost 4 million subs needs shill to spread his game to virgin NEETs who hate everything
Learn what shilling means and head back to T_D till you do, pal.
All reviews are based on opinions.
All opinions are based on feelings.
We both know this is a dunkey thread
>dunkey
Cancer, get the fuck out of here
If you don't know the difference between hand holding and relying on the player to try everything and anything then you know nothing about game design
Stop shilling that nigger subhuman here, cuck.
>he is serious
Everyone is talking about Samus Returns.
His 3/5s are generally good games. He said so in his rant vid about reviewers.
So he's bad at videogames then.
Where is your argument?
No the tile you bomb is one over.
>game about exploration
>OH NO METROID WE ARE STUCK IN A PIT! USE THE X BUTTON TO DROP BOMBS AND MAYBE WE WILL FIND A WAY OUT! THAT TILE RIGHT THERE LOOKS SUSPICIOUS....
in the video you can see him bombing the fuck out of that whole space but it doesn't activate until he places a bomb just close enough, which i can understand is quite frustrating.
Don't bother, there's only two types of people posting in this thread: Sonyfags who didn't watch the video, and Nintendofags who didn't watch the video.
yeah.
That 'bomb this exact spot to make a pillar rise up' mechanic is never hinted at, used previously, or used again later.
It's not awful, because a small area makes trying everything relatively quick to do, but it is pretty lame. Dunkey overreacts to it, but it is a bad little segment.
but if you actually watch the video he shows the part he got stuck and there's clearly no way to know
If you actually get stuck on that part you are also the type of person to get stuck on the Cuphead tutorial
Fucking faggot how dare he not praise metroid
Thank Youtube, they scared a bunch of channels into thinking YT algorithm actually gives a shit about the content when it demonetizes you. When I see inoffensive reviewers suddenly shifting gears, being "tamer" or repeatedly editing/reuploading to see if it doesn't get demonetized (it always does), it just disappoints me. The algorithm is nonsense and doesn't distinguish safe content from harmful content at all.
even ross's game dungeon just had to do a half hour video being like "okay 53 of my videos got flagged and demonetized over night and i have no idea what youtube's algorithm is trying to do"
execution =/= exploration
Is he black?
So his criticism was that it followed the original too closely? He wanted more new stuff, and he wanted the shit old stuff gone?
>Give shit score for views
This guys always with the jewery.
I thought you had to bomb jump out of there myself. Never seen it before in any play through
Theres absolutely no reason for wasting a players time by putting in multiple blocks you need to blow next to each other
Metroid always sucked though
>3/5
>shit
literally what?
When you played it how did you know to bomb that exact part of the tile (bear in mind it doesn't blow unless you hit the exact spot)? And given that he figured it our eventually how does that make him worse at videogames than you?
You know the review is bad when even this thread has no consensus on what it was supposed to critizize.
there are a lot of ways to get over (or under) walls in Metroid, this one is shitty because it uses some weird mechanics.
It'd honestly be better if you could bomb out a specific part of the floor and go under the wall, that'd be closer to something you normally need to do in Metroid.
>60%
>Good
>6/10
>Good
Delusional.
Yeah exactly. Its ok when the breakable blocks are used as a small timing puzzle because that is player engagement but any time its a few blocks in a row just to make the player chew through it and pad time that's cut and dry bad design.
It seems disingenuous on his part to criticize Metroid for being cryptic when games he likes like Hollow Knight and SOTN do that too. In fact I'd say they all do it to the same extent.
He has a point about older games being crytpic bullshit but Super and Fusion are pretty basic in that regard it really should only take you like 10 minutes to get through harder sections
>relying on the player to try everything and anything
Which he clearly didn't do if something like shooting or bombing areas didn't cross his mind
High Definition Autismal Disease.
>That 'bomb this exact spot to make a pillar rise up' mechanic is never hinted at, used previously, or used again later.
It's used loads tho. You need it to get some of the items in Sector 2 before you have access to Spring Ball. You also need it to do a fucking infuriating puzzle in Sector 6 where you need to make a bridge out of pillars to shinespark over. It also protects you if you accidentally got stuck in early deep water/lava. Replayed Fusion last week and those pillars popped up a good few times.
hentai dad
>Mass effect 3 is a masterpiece
>It has good graphics
>Excellent sound design
>Multilayered gameplay
>A deep story that interweaves previous choices from previous games
>Solid shooting mechanics with psychic powers as well as tech powers
>10/10
All reviews are subjective you dork, otherwise every call of duty would be a 10/10
You sound like you've never played the game. If you've played metroid and also possess 10 functioning brain cells you'll try to bomb every tile if you got stuck because they reveal blocks and secrets like that.
Don't just parrot the opinion on a game you haven't even played faggot
dunkey's 3/5s are any other site's 4.5/5s
>tfw mario has shit tier design
Sony always wins
>dunkey
Fuck off you absolute cunt
It's been a while, but can't you just morph bomb up the wall like every other wall
>My 1 out of 10s are IGNs 9/10s
Why.
>pile of stinking shit game
>9/10
>your favourite game
>6/10
it's almost as if the number means nothing and you have to actually listen to what the person is talking about and interpret whether you would like the game from what they said
if i said I hate Disgaea because I find the game boring, there's too much talking, no real plot, inflated stats and infinite grinding 1/10
if you just read the number you'll miss the point of the review
fuck off, you just hate him cuz he's black
In a 5 star review 3 should be good.
1 is a travesty
2 is bad but it can improve
3 is good
4 is great
5 is a perfect fucking score.
You could also say not all reviews are correct, and that's WHY Call of Duty gets so many 10/10's. Saying they're subjective actually defends the idea that they are 10/10 because subjectively that would be true.
huh, I guess I forgot those ones. I never 100%'d the game, so I probably missed those in my normal playthroughs.
He gives his critique as an obvious non-metroid fan, and I can respect that. As a troid fan myself the game is easily 9/10
>everyone arguing about his criticism about a block in fusion
>has nothing to do with his rating of Samus returns
yes he's right, it's flawed game design when the part you should be moving has this kind of cryptic garbage, it's only excusable for secrets and optional corridors/halls, but don't bother arguing with these drones they will defend literally anything the game does wrong
exaggeration aside, a 1-10 scale is pretty useless if nothing gets below a 7
>complains about some of the cryptic stuff in Super Metroid
>"okay"
>Complains about how he got lost in Metroid Fusion
>"oh god this should be a good punchline"
>there is no punchline
>he was serious
However subjectively they aren't 10, they are the same repeated games over and over. It is because of your subjective taste that call of duty ghosts isn't as good as call of duty 4.
>But call of duty ghosts objectively copies cod 4
And copying and reusing is not objectively wrong, it would be how you subjectively take those elements and what they mean to you.
I knew he was a pleb
>You sound like you've never played the game. If you've played metroid and also possess 10 functioning brain cells you'll try to bomb every tile if you got stuck because they reveal blocks and secrets like that.
Did you watch the video or even read my comment, moron? He did bomb every tile as the video shows, but the hitbox is smaller than the tile and the bombs explosion doesn't cover the tile.. He presumably got it on a second pass of bombing. So I ask again how does that "make him bad at gaming"
Have you played the game user?
>no
i remember that section and iirc you cannot bomb jump that high
After he praised Uncharted 4 then shat on Yookah Layle the way he did I have no respect for this retard.
>"I have le evil journalism give me views XDD"
Fuck this faggot
Subjectively they are 11/10, because I feel they are so good that each one of them breaks the defined limitations of rating systems. Prove me wrong.
His reviews really are all over the place
>He did bomb every tile as the video shows, but the hitbox is smaller than the tile and the bombs explosion doesn't cover the tile.. He presumably got it on a second pass of bombing.
So you've never played a metroid game. Because you obviously don't know how hitboxes work in them.
I can't, unless you can substantiate that claim with what you believe is good to the game, which is why it's important that I read your opinion and if I believe you have them well rounded enough I will listen to your reviews as I think you are capable of having a grounded response. It's not objectivity though, it's just your ability to communicate what you do and don't like
