How often are y'all still using it? I've got a Switch and a big 3ds backlog I really should get to, not to mention being pleasantly surprised by the MonHun stories demo and wanting to continue that. However, games not being on the Switch has slowly become a disincentive to play, however dumb that is. Feels silly to keep playing on the old hardware when I've got the new shiny thing next to me, even if the games I'd be playing is SMT4A or something else I'd really enjoy.
The last days of 3ds
>y'all
kys y'cuck
Haven't played 3ds since FE conquest but I want to update so I can play alliance alive. I'm on rxtools, what do I need to do?
Instead of playing 3DS or Switch, you should be learning to draw.
I think this kinda issue is going to last longer than with any other platform transition before it, too. It's the end of the Dual screen era, and there are franchises that are so dependent on the format that they can't make the change. Etrian odyssey V is probably going to be the last of its series since it depends so heavily on a big permanently accessible map. I played Severed, another first person dungeon crawler, on the Switch and while it's fun, boy howdy does it show how much less complexity is possible on a switch set-up.Yo-kai watch is still a lucrative franchise, but it too basically needs two screens in order to function.
I use it daily, it's my only dedicated games device.
Recently loved Ever Oasis, insanely excited for the Alliance Alive
They're making 2 more EO games, Persona Q2 and a "festival" game that's a celebration of the series.
Whoops, you're right. But basically the point I'm making is that EO cant really survive a move to Switch, as I see it.
Agreed wholeheartedly, it was one of the best dual screen users on the system and the DS. I'll miss it.
Also, goddammit, you reminded me that legend of legacy is still on my 3ds to-do list.
Oh is it? Well if you need help post it in a 3DS thread, I make it to about 1/3 of them and I love Legend of Legacy a LOT, I just don't talk about it on Sup Forums much because the general consensus is that people hated it.
Bought it a year ago. I've only beaten Fire emblem Awakening and Legend of Zelda: Link between the worlds.
I dropped Pokemon Moon, because it was boring. I put Fire Emblem Fates on hold until i Beat Metroid Samus Returns.
After Metroid I will get back to Fire Emblem and then I will think if there is anything else I want to play.
But considering how little time for gaming I have it is my go to gaming system.
Been playing Metroid SR, Monster Hunter Stories, and Azure Striker Gunvolt Double Pack. Having a great time playing them.
>How often are y'all still using it?
Very.
The only time i barely used it was when it came out and only had SF4, after the games started comming in i've played it non stop.
Also any of you playing stories?
I want to but my budget is tight and I'm saving for the other games coming out for it that I want. The demo was great at least.
Yes, this game is honestly really damn good. It kind of reminds me of Dragon Quest a bit, feels like a huge ass adventure. I'm catching up on Subquests that I let pile up.
dumb thot poster
>Last days
Well into 2018 my dude.
I've got a huge Nintendo backlog ,it isn't even funny. And Nintendo is insistent on giving me more games to add to it, for free.
I'm playing The Superstar Saga remake
Samus Returns
hype for EOV
and occasional virtual console games
Good shit
I use it every day. Love it
Ever since the hinge on the right side of my 3DS XL broke (the part with the wifi light or whatever that light was for), I haven't played any 3DS games. Haven't really felt like I was missing out or anything.
I've been thinking of getting a New Nintendo 2DS XL, but I dunno. I've been following along with 3DS releases and nothing really catches my attention.
Just bought Samus Returns, beat it and love it. I'm going through Super Mario 3D Land right now, which somehow I missed the first time around.
Also I'm looking for a good JRPG because I got put back into the mood. I tried Etrian Odyssey but the first person dungeon crawling and map drawing isn't really my thing. Think the only one I played was Bravely Default. Anything good already out/coming out? Radiant Historia's on my radar because I haven't played the original.
No bully please.
I am. Just defeated the Blighted Diablos.
I usually don't have time to game because of college, so my 3ds is my go to system. Got Pokemon Black, AS, and Sun alongside Mystery dungeon EoD and GtI. Also have Apollo Justice and Spirit of Justice, and both Kirby games for 3ds. And I just got MHS and I'm enjoying the fuck out of it.
Got Dragon Quest 8 and dropped it after killing Magus
Last game I got was Happy Home Designer which I rarely mess with
I doubt I will do much with it besides Smash and Mon Hun with friends

Play every weekend with bros, doing this since, gba days.
Working on completing my living dex right now actually
>Bravely Second
>Devil Survivor 1 & 2
>Code of Princess
>EO IV and Etrian Mistery Dungeon.
>Fire Emblem Echoes
>Metroid
>Persona Q
Plus
>EOV
>Strange Journey Redux
>Radiant Historia
>Alliance Alive
Send help.
Mobile App + this on the Switch.
>perfected homebrew and CFW
Not until someone figures out an entrypoint for 11.4 that doesn't require a flash cart.
How does that help EO though? Playing it docked then using the app to map it? It's better than a button toggle crapfest but it seems odd and unlikely.
>Latefags
For about a year there was no excuse. It was as simple as copying files to a PC and following a handful of instructions.
I haven't been paying attention to many games for the 3DS since I could barely play mines for the last 2-3 years as it is and can't afford to get an upgrade anytime soon. I would love to get back on it, though.
y-you're right
good taste
>just downloaded Conception II and Lord of Magna
What should I play first?
>Conception II
Not even worth the bandwidth if you pirated
Is it that bad? I was hankering for a new rpg and the girls looked cute.
What games do you play on the switch? I've been thinking about getting one lately but the only essential game seems to be zelda and I already have that on my wii u
>but the only essential game seems to be zelda
Marketing is a hell of a drug.
>Still pushing this "ded handheld" meme
for what purpose
I'm not sure what you're trying to say
I dont play games as often anymore, but if I do I go to my 3DS. I am waiting for EOV to come out, and I am slightly interested in Super Mario Maker.
should I get a new 2ds XL on black friday or get a used 3ds for half the price now?
I've got
>The big 3 current first party titles: Zelda, arms, Splatoon 2
>Puyo Puyo Tetris (I've somehow played more of it than Zelda)
>Tumbleseed, though I'm awful at it
>Severed
>Disgaea
>Shephy is a cheap timewaster but tough
>A few SNK emulations
>Doesn't count, but the Octopath demo
I'm going to buy one second hand or on black friday at one point. 'EoL' devices can be had for pretty cheap and since I haven't owned a single nintendo handheld I'm sure I'll have a huge backlog to have fun with once I flash CFW on it
puyo puyo tetris seems fun but i'm not going to buy a switch for it
>not owning a flashcart
Do you hate DS games?
Can't you just hardmod it? All you really need to do is solder a few wires on freely accessible pads on the board, it's easy as fuck.
3DS is my main game device.
Culdcept is coming out in a few days, that's a unique experience you won't be able to get on the Switch. Especially if you cant read moon, for some reason Japan is really picky about which ones make it over here. I use my 3DS all the time, but then, i dont have a switch yet, so there's that
is culdcept good
Its pretty good, and comfy too, once you get the hang of it. Ive been a fan ever since the PS2 game, though, so im kind of biased.
>I've got a Switch
>games not being on the Switch has slowly become a disincentive to play
>The last days of 3ds
Sounds like a Switch owner's buyer's remorse. 3DS itself is feeling just fine with more new games coming out.
I used it for few months befeore the screen went completely black and it will not start for some reason.
I seem to be in the minority that hasnt played it in months. Mine stopped reading games and i havent bothered with trying to fix it.
fuck the switch, 3ds, even regular ds. i still have a massive gameboy advance backlog.
Basically, no ps4 portable means 3ds still lives.
switch isn't replacing 3DS. not with that battery life. doubt Nintendo will make another handheld.
Just bought it. Nintendo probably funded this game to keep pokemon competitive,
Now I want a medieval pokemon rpg where knight and pokemon fight in a war.
Thinking about picking one up sometime soon. Which 3ds Fire Emblem is generally considered the best one?
Why did you even get a switch when it has no games and you have a large backlog on the 3ds? You sir are a fucking retard.
I don't see why anyone wants a new handheld. 3DS is plenty powerful. new hardware is only going to drive up costs, drive down innovation, and just bring all the cancer infecting consoles currently. handhelds should be a safe haven, especially for midrange devs. also, I used to sort of resent Nintendo for not having a proper second nub, but now I realize it's to keep out cancerous FPS bullshit. pretty smart on their part.
Professor Layton daughter
Pokémon ultra sun and ultra moon
Sushi strikers
Mario Luigi
Yokai 3
Vanguard ride to victory
Lock on victory
Stride to victory
user, i might not make it
Not too often honestly, I just got Monster Hunter Stories today so I'll be playing that from time to time but outside Metroid and maybe Strange Journey my 3ds experience will probably be done soon.
By the way does anyone own a new 2ds? Is it worth the investment or is it just another cash grab?
Haven't played mario + Rabbids Kingdom battle yet T. T
Yet it sells despite having "no games "
This meme must stop!
>3DS is plenty powerful
It really isn't. And I'd really rather have a proper handheld without 3d/two screens or any other gimmicks, and two proper sticks. I.e. like Vita, but better and not dead.
Regardless, 3DS is nowhere near dead, despite some people might think.
there's pokemon conquest
Depends, what do you want it to do exactly?
I'm an expert on this because I own 9 3ds systems 2 being the N2DSXL
Conquest is more luminous arc
Using it for MhStories and will still be using it for Pokemon US/UM
>Last days
>He still thinks they won't make another handheld because of the Switch
They said the same thing about the Wii U bud. Handhelds will still be around by the time we're all dead.
And metroid
And gba not being replaced by the NDS
I want to play Alliance Alive and Strange Journey but I don't want to buy a 3DS again.
Also I can't go back to 240p.
>last days
>confirmed releases of top games in 2018
kys my dude
This too, the 3ds is still kicking even in 2018
I don't even see the issue with keeping handhelds around. Maybe it's the 90s kid in me. But like do they have to go? They offer something for a huge audience and the games are cheap and fun to play on the go. If me right now went back and time and told younger me I'd be able to play Smash Bros or a 3D Mario game on a handheld , I would have shit myself.
Ive had my 3ds sitting in my closet for like over a year, literally nothing on it worth playing. Fuck I play my PS4/xbone wayyy more than my 3ds.
>Depends, what do you want it to do exactly?
Maybe just provide a smoother experience (control/performance wise) and adequate battery life. For context I have regular 3ds XL.
??
N3DSXL should arrive today, already ordered Ghost Trick, DQ8, Rhythm Heaven and downloading Cave Story soon as I get it
getting Black 2 for free from my sister, too
here's my backlog in visual form because autism, recommend games
So I'm getting a New 2DS XL next week , do the old DS games look better on it? I have the original model 3DS and all the games run fine but have a weird appearance to them. Sometime told me they fixed it on the later models.
>Starfy
My man. Such an underrated gem. Pretty good list. Get Code of Princess , it's not perfect but it's fun as shit.
what's the deal with Yo-kai Watch? is 2: Psychic Specters just the definitive version of 2? is it just a localization of a game already released in Japan?
no idea if the game's even good
When the fuck is Nintendo going to stop updating the 3DS
I wanna play my pirated games online!
you don't know enough to pound sand down a rat hole
I'm playing every 2-3 days. I've got a huge backlog (pic rel) and the games are better then most of my steam library.
>Implying I'm late
You're making excuses. 11.4 requires a hardmod or a 3DS-compatible flash cart. That's evidence enough that the 3DS doesn't have perfect homebrew. Perfect homebrew would work on all versions with the exact same method.
I've owned DS flash carts for over a decade, you're ignoring the point.
Yes you can, you're still ignoring the point.
I am, can still do both.
I'm still going through the main story, the fat evil guy just stole my egg.
If it wasn't for Metroid I'd have not used it all summer
You can't? I'm with CFW and can play online just fine.
can we end the 3DS meme already?
I'm not sure what the word cuck means, but if Nintendo haters use it as an insult, then I'm proud to be one.
The 3ds has been a Hacking and Homebrew favorite of many just like the DS and PS2, the games Ive pirated on there will have a long lasting life after the last 3ds game releases
I modded my 3DS last year. Don't know if I installed the wrong firmware or whatever or if my SD drive is broken, but it loads to a blank screen when I turn it on. I should try to copy games to another SD card. Damn screws are too hard to get off.
I'm using mine daily to play Samus Returns and MH Stories
There has to be a way to keep the EO series working on the Switch. I bet it could work using the map as a minimap that could be open and modified at any moment. The screen is big enough to fit a minimap.
