So where does this game take place in each game's timeline? I've only watched a couple parts of the leak, but the Awakening cast doesn't recognize Lucina and Owain at all.

Characters can have different moves even with the same weapon.

They could have gone with a Pokemon Musou, Nintendo all-stars or even a Hyrule Warrior 2 would have been better.

The best way to fix the sword problem is instead of 14 sword users that are all the same just do like 4-7 sword users with extremely different types of sword

It's not like they don't now how to do this. Dynasty warriors has tons of sword, but they're all quite different.

It's not like FE has an abnormal sword representation in its classes. You could have someone embodying each of the weapon classes and have a perfectly good distribution, but you just know that they had to put 5 or 6 extra sword lords in for brand power.

The best way would have been to go all out and put every lord from all games even if they used swords.
Finding a way to make every character unique is supposed to be your job as a game designer.

You can only do so much with swords, once you have 4 sword users you've done every move set possible.

You don't have to think too much to give those characters different play styles, and once again that's just for the swords user.
Even characters that are very similar (like Roy/Eliwood) can have something to make them different.

That's not what people are asking why they focused on just three games then turned around and filled the roster with nothing mostly Fates characters not only that but the whole too many swords argument goes out the door when you realize that most of the roster consists of sword users anyway.
