Nintendo Switch

I'm considering getting a Nintendo Switch for my birthday in October. If I get any games for it, I would get The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, to start.

So, should I get one? Or should I get a gaming PC and wait for a Nintendo Switch emulator to come along (like it inevitably will)?

doubting a switch emulator will come anytime soon given the nvidia tegra architecture of the switch

the console itself getting hacked is much more inevitable.

You should have a gaming PC anyway, but you're ignoring the value of the Switch to just wait for an emulator, it's a good handheld that compliments a PC, if it's Switch or PC, definitely buy a PC, and not a fucking "gaming laptop".

Dev kits are $500 for the Switch, I doubt it will move as quickly as Cemu though.

Switch emulation won't happen for a long time.

If you want a portable device get 3DS, Vita, GPDWin, DS or PSP. All have well rounded libraies of games to choose from. Dont fucking emulate ot wait for a Switch emulator.

Do not actually buy a Vita or GPD Win.

I don't think the tegra chip can be emulated yet is what I'm saying, and it's not a new architecture either (although afaik switch uses a modified version of a tegra x1 chip)

I'm not aware of any reasons why a Tegra chip wouldn't be emulatable.

Never said it was going to happen anytime soon. However, I believe that was said about the 3DS and it already has an emulator, albeit not the best, and certainly nowhere near as good as VBA.

Why? They both have lots of games that can be played on them.

I got my Switch last month and I think it's worth every penny. Zelda and MK8 are great, although they use up a lot of battery in portable mode unless the brightness is down. The joy cons are cool, though the analog sticks are a little small. You should get a Switch if you have the money. It's all I've been playing on since I got it.

>Do not actually buy a Vita
Why? I have a N3DS and a Vita and I love my Vita more. Emulated games look great on the Vita's nicer screen and it can emulate PSX games. Plus there's the bonus of the PSP games as well as the Vita's own games.

I mean, sure, if you have patience to wait a decade be my guest.

GPD Win is shit, the Vita has mostly weeb games, if you are a hard weeb have fun, but also remember that OP was intersted in specific games on the Switch, and none of the games on the Vita.

I'm hoping to get those when I have more money and can afford them all.

Ah so you're just an ignorant shitposter who doesnt know shit. Got it now fuck off

No, what I typed is correct the Vita is shit and should be avoided like the plague.

nor am I, but it can't currently be emulated despite being on the market since like 2013 or something

You dont have to get all of them persay just all of those games have 10+ exclusives/console exclusives worth playing on them, in GPDWins case its solid for playing Steam games on the go like Tales of berseria. If you wanna play Nintendo Switch games though go right ahead, I was more advocating against waiting for am emulator.

You're a fucking idiot, stop embarassing yourself you platform war shitter. Adults are talking about games at the moment.

t. only knowledge of the Vita comes from shitposting on here

You seem to be conflating can't be emulated with no fucking desire to emulate, on top of this the Switch's Tegra X1 is not the same chip in the Tegra tablet or the Tegra handheld.

if you buy a gpd or other literally who device, you're retarded

>says the guy who actually shills the vita

Top fucking kek, Vita fags are pathetic, I like that your handheld was a fucking joke and only plays weeb trash.

The Vita isn't worth knowing about other than shitposting about it.

isn't it the same as the nvidia shield?

Shield TV only.

>I'm considering getting a Nintendo Switch for my birthday

Are you fucking 12? Buy one with your own earned money if you want one and make your own financial decisions based on what you consider to be entertaining.

No, he's saying it can't be emulated. You can't emulate it due to the lack of an emulator. If I asked you to emulate some tegra android game, you'd have to tell me it can't be done.

So you're confirming you have no idea what you're talking about? Good job, user.

Get a gaming PC. No Switch titles are high priority. None of them have particularly innovative stories or gameplay.

Nintendo is known for being reliable and solid. They never achieve the unexpected brilliance of games like Fallout New Vegas, or Titanfall 2, or Dark Souls 1, but they never release anything that completely sucks, either. They just sort of put out good title after good title.

I would definitely invest in a PC. Not just for the radically better variety of titles and mod support, but also because of the longer lifespan. Nintendo consoles are built to last in a physical sense but definitely not in terms of dev support. The Switch will probablu get usurped by 2020, maybe 2021 if we're all really lucky.

Dude, come on, Not so obvious next time. 0 / 10

>doubting a switch emulator will come anytime soon given the nvidia tegra architecture of the switch

Unless I've been replying to another person, I'd say your statement is false.

No I'm just shitting on retards who think that the Vita holds any value whatsoever, and the GPD Win, both are a waste of space, if you could get a Vita for free, I'd still say don't bother unless you could get the memory cards for free too.

>buying consoles post-ps2

I've been interested in getting one but why is it still so expensive tho? No one is buying it obviously so why not slash the fucking prices to like $99? Move some units at least

Have you tried second hand?

I hate second hand consoles. I have the paranoid feeling someone jacked off and then played for a good while with their cummy hands.

Is it because you jack off on your game systems?

Nice "arguments", clown.

nope just have been on the internet long enough to know people are fucking gross

Fair enough, considering the games that people play on Vita most, it wouldn't surprise me, but that's on top of just the stupid shit people do, like jerking off onto coins and wiping them so they are visibly clean.

Vita TV or Vita emulator it is then.

you can just wipe it down with some disinfectant

>GPDWin
Steam games on the go + crazy emulation capability
>3DS + Physical BC with DS
Pokemon games, Layton series, Ace Attourney series, SMT 4, Fantasy Life, 999/VLR/ZTD, Rune Factory 4, Bravely Default series, Dragonquest 7,8, Yokai Watch, Etrian oddesey + many more
>Vita + PS1/PSP digital BC
Danganronpa, Gundam Games, IA/VT, Atelier, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Persona 4g, Odin Sphere Leftiraiser, Dragons Crown, Digimon Cyber Slueth, World Of Final Fantasy + many more
>Switch + digital wii U and VC BC in future
Zelda, MK8, Splatoon 2, Mario Rabbids, Arms, Golf Story, Fast Racing RMX, Unreleased/Upcomming: Mario Oddesey, SMT V, Octopath Traveller, Suda game, etc

For DS/PSP games see above

It's expensive because its a powerful system, Vita in a sense can be a cheaper alternative as there is some overlap on Steam such as Trails Of Cold Steel and some Titty Ninja games.

Ignore the insufferable Vita shitter platform warriors though, the system gives brainlet serious brain aneurysms for some fucking reason.

What's wrong with cum? I cum all over my bills AND coins then I use them to buy all sorts of things. If you use €/£/$/¥ chances are you've touched my dead sperm.

As someone who bought it at launch, I can tell you the library has really come into its own.

What genres do you like outside of 1st party Nintendo?

Fuck you man, that's a dick move. You know people touch that shit. But whatever, I never handle money for long periods of time anyways like I would with a handheld and I always wash my hands after handling money.

Can't really think of any genres per se, but I can think of specific games. Some that come to mind are:

>Fallout
>Skyrim
>GTA
>L. A. Noire
>Super Hot
>Stanley Parable
>Limbo
>Inside
>Garry's Mod
>Goat Simulator
>Escapists
>Half-Life
>Portal
>TF2
>Overwatch

to name a few.

So I guess I'd say the genres I enjoy are:

>RPG
>FPS (like Half-Life or Portal, none of that COD shit)
>Fantasy
>Adventure
>Funny
>Meta

and that's all I can think of at the moment.

Good news then, you'll find that Rockstar and Bethesda are both supporting Switch.

Also, a few of the indie games listed are coming to Switch and similar games are coming to or already on Switch.

Forgot to mention, I also like Dragon Ball games like:

>Dragon Ball Z: Legacy of Goku II
>Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury
>Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2
>Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Budoten
>Dragon Ball FighterZ
>Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Budokai
>Dragon Ball Xenoverse

Well you'll be bhappy to know that Xenoverse 2 is on Switch and based on the huge success (it sold out physically in Japan), we'll likely be seeing FighterZ on Switch as well.

Odyssey is the game I want to play the most this year but buying a Switch right now is pretty stupid, especially if you only want to play two of the games even revealed for the system.
Don't expect an emulator anytime soon, though.

They already said they wouldnt
Just saiyin as a friend f a m

>vitas own games
Hahaha

Correction.

They said after release of Xenoverse 2, they'll consider it.

That's a pretty clear message that they want to see how Xenoverse 2 performs before moving forward with porting FighterZ.

considering getting it for christmas for similar reasons figure at this point there are enough games to justify:

must buys:
zelda
mario
xenoblade

potential buys
splatoon2
arms
rabids

3 musts and 3 backup buys not bad really and 2018 looks pretty bright as well

Not really interested in the potential/backup buys you've listed, sorry.
