1. TCG card packs are not an actual device that assigns value, like say, an RNG, or a pair of dice.

2. Once you buy a TCG card pack, it is yours. In current video games, the pixels you win from the roulette wheel still remain the ultimate property of the developer.

3. You are not required to buy card packs to obtain the cards you need. You can buy the "super rare cards" from people who have already won them.

4. You don't need the rare cards to win games.

Try not supporting developers that go heavy into this then. Problem solved idiot.

Back around 2010 or so, CoD MW2 came out on PC. It was significant for being the first PC game (at least major one that I can think of) to be 60 dollars instead of the standard 50. It was also probably the first not to have private servers. People made a stink, and others (similar to you right now) said "well if you don't like it just don't play games that do these things"

Fast forward a few years and suddenly 60 dollarydoos is standard, and more and more games (like ovewatch) now have no private servers. You can keep saying "well don't play games that do the things you don't like" but that doesn't change the fact that this shit becomes more and more pervasive. It'll expand until every fucking game has lootcrates and other bullshit.

Then I'm safe. Maybe some people in this thread will learn to not play AAA games.

I dont deny the chance of that happening. However since AA games have a much smaller audience, if they try that they will actually feel the "vote with your wallet" thing, unlike AAA publishers and their millions of customers with no standards.
