im really glad they did all those test punches becuase i got bored of it before the game even came out

who would have thought

Why did you let him down, Sup Forums?

who?

>It's dead

>still has an active online
>can easily get a battle going within seconds
>countless number of tournaments going on online on forums like gamefaqs and reddit

Define dead, doctor.

>Reddit

YOU HAVE TO GO BACK

I actually do hate Reddit, but I wish people online talked about the game more. Seriously looking forward to EVO Japan to see how far the pros can push this game

I guarantee it'll b the least watched event there.

I don't need to circlejerk about a game on 4chin to still be playing and enjoying it.

Could a price drop save this game? I'd probably buy it for $20.

>tfw Saitama's game is ded.

This. I got to see pretty much everything the game had to offer a month before it came out. And I was excited for it since the announcement, too.

I wish I could get into this game. I love the look of it, the concept, the characters, the music, it's all there. But I'm just horrible to the point where I can't beat level 3.

ARMS master I here
Why do people say it's dead? Lawbreakers is dead. This isn't dead just because Sup Forums has it in its mind that it is.

If someone as garbage as you can have a "prestigious" title like Master 1 then the game is dead.

it used to be the cap, now it's been raised twice so it no longer is very prestigious

>Us 4channers have to stick together. Who's with me, Sup Forumsros?

it's not dead, you faggot. Sup Forums just never talks about games. it's all falseflagging political shitposting

R-right, h-haha!

you guys excited for the update? also where do you rank on the leaderboard?

Thanks for the pic. Ill need it for the next time I see that Odyssey commercial. Jesus..

Same here, I'll probably buy on eshop once it goes on sale or price drops for cheap.

This is literally Red dit tier shit. The game is dead, man.

I think it's at least worth $40 in its current state but I don't think you'll see a price drop soon. much less ever seeing it for under $30. besides, it's selling fairly well

aren't there have a tournament coming up for japan soon?

>Reddit plays it so the game is DEAD

I've got bad news for you in regards to every single other game out there.

I thought it was in america?

The gameplay just somehow doesn't work, it seemed like a good idea on paper but it's so fucking unintuitive.

are you good at other hard games? if you are, I'm not sure why this one would be too difficult

>other people that aren't me enjoy the game, therefore it is dead
Jesus christ

The game definitely isn't dead. I can still get both unranked and ranked matchups at all hours of the day, and I still play it regularly with my friends.

Just another one of those games where people go "well I don't play it, so that must mean nobody else does!"

I bet you people think Pokemon GO is dead too.

>Rank 17 Helix
>still manage to get matches within 10 seconds
This game is way more enjoyable and replayable than Splatoon desu. Every update has been great, game is fairly balanced enough for a lot of Arms to be fun and viable, and games can get intense, especially against rank 18-20s. Wish the game got more love, smashfags trash this game 24/7

It's true that you got to see everything the game had at the time but the game is growing. in 8 months or so, it'll probably seem like a different game with all the improvements, new modes, characters, etc

>Sold probably around 1,4 million units
>Have tpo wait seconds before you can jump into the game

>Somehow its dead

Mods should ban shitposters faster

>every update has been great
I really like that the arms team is listening. they're pretty connected with the fans. rarely see this in AAA games

All of the not-1v1 modes were shit anyway. But as a Splatoon player, I'm envious of Arms' custom controls.

no I'm talking the arms japan grand prix.

not all but yeah, I do wish some of the side modes were more in depth

found it.
nintendo.co.jp/switch/aabqa/dashboard/detail/arms_jgp_2017.html

anyone care to translate? my japanese is intermediate level at best

i unironically believe ARMS would have been an even bigger smash hit if it released later in the switches lifetime

It's really not a bad game just lacking in content. Also, having the grind out all the arms for each character as well as getting them again to get the enhancements is just stupid busy work. For the enhancements shit, l can understand, but all arms should have been unlocked from the get go. Fucking annoying when I want to experiment an arm on a character but oops, don't have it unlocked. Better pray you get it randomly. It's kind of like if you had to unlock the hadoken in street fighter.

nintendo never lowers the price on their shit. I want to grab Mario Maker, but it's still expensive as fuck.

Play ranked and win, cuck.

Did we just have a thread 3 days ago that hit 100 over bump limit?
Who looking forward to next update?

> let down
His game is a success user

I am. but when are we getting a new character? I know we just got lola but I'm hungry for more

I agree about the randomized stuff. but don't really think they should have been unlocked from the get go

No shit. Doesn't stop it from being pointless and unnecessary.

>Helix main

It's funny how people get so assblasted by Helix. Whenever I use him people always counter pick and then spam his stretching out of anger. I love that flubbery fuck.

It's more alive than any ps4 exclusive.

>ARMS JAPAN GRAND PRIX 2017 "will be held to determine the top points of domestic ARMS players.
District conference held in 4 cities of Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka. Each winner will be a district representative and a final match will be held and a national champion will be decided!
In order to participate in the tournament, you need an entry from the entry form in advance. Anyone can enter the district conference. The winner of the district conference will be granted entry to the final tournament to be held in December!
ARMS fighters nationwide in the Ude who remembered, please apply for it! (In case of a large number of applicants, it will be a lottery.)
could of just used google.

So is lola top tier or Is she top tier?
Also fun chucks are fucked

it's weird that not many high level players use lola. guessing that'll change with the update soon

Fun chucks got a good nerf in the latest patch. They're easier to deal with but not trash.

I knew arms would be fucking huge in Japan.
Arms 2 basically confirmed boys

pshh arms 2 was a guarantee even if it didn't sell as well as it did. they're trying to create new IPs that will stick with the new generation like mario, link, and samus stuck with the old gen

Japan loves games like these

>mobility
>defense
>great base arms
>feints
shes pretty good

i'll support your dream, kosuke

That feel when a couple months ago all you nintenbros were talking about how much fun this game is gonna be

And we were right? wana play?

Every online Switch game will double their community over the holidays because of all the new Switch owners that will be coming in.

>salty sonybro comes to thread just to post this

holy shit it's gonna be a shit show trying to get a switch on christmas

Why don't companies make any single-player focused games that are all contained in one package? So many games now go all-in on the multiplayer aspect and when the playerbase inevitably dies in a few months the game becomes basically unplayable

fighting games were always like this

I assume this problem with arms will be fixed in an update or sequel. Many fans have asked for a story mode and the arms team has proved that they do listen

I definitely understand where you're coming, but with fighting games are kind of an exception.

True, I guess there's not much you can add to fighting games other than different modes where you battle AI opponents. Just kind of sad to see all these games with evaporating playerbases

Honestly I never played many online games but after Splatoon 2 I can barely justify paying for a single player game.
If I can get 200+ hours from Splatoon for $60, why should I pay the same for a SP game that will give me 20-30 hours tops?

Because MP gameplay is a fundamentally different experience to SP, plus not all MP games are created equal. Why would I take a gamble on a game that might have less than 1k players in a few months?

I hate that gaming has become this metagame of picking games that are popular and have large playerbases instead of just playing games you like

I belive the opposite to be true and people wouldn't even give this game the time of day if there was anything else to play besides ports and shovelware. ARMS was successful because there was nothing else to play on the Switch, and now that there are other games it has fallen off the radar. This was literally as good as it was going to get for ARMS.

For about a month before the Nintendo Switch Online service starts

>I hate that gaming has become this metagame of picking games that are popular and have large playerbases instead of just playing games you like
You realise you're doing that to yourself right?

Yeah because that affected any other platform.

You cannot play an online multiplayer game that has no players. Say someone's favorite game was Evolve or Lawbreakers or some shit, you're going to spend an hour in the matchmaking queue.

How many fighting games are flushed each year because a new iteration comes out? This is a perfect example of not having much choice in what games you play. Say Injustice 1 is your favorite fighting game of all time, and you don't like the changes they made to Injustice 2? Tough shit bitch, either play the new one or nothing at all

the biggest complaint I hear is that it released too close to splatoon 2. you don't think it would have done better if it released during 2018?

>You cannot play an online multiplayer game that has no players.
Then don't play an online multiplayer game?

If a game is -that- dead, then you're best to find people who also play it. Unless you're playing an indie game you made yourself, there is at least one other person out there who will play it with you.

Well yeah but if you buy it while it's alive, you'll be playing it much more than you would a single player game

not the same guy but some singleplayer games can last a long fucking time. like 200+ hours long. I doubt we'll ever see a fighting game with that much content but you get my point

nigga you suck ass.

What level is the casual filter one?
i'm a lvl 7 shitter. I just got this game the last weekend.

People can play multiplayer games for hundreds and thousands of hours, man.

truth

>Has just as much/little single player content as ARMS
>focuses more on the fundamentals, strategy, and mindgames elements of fighting games like ARMs, but while still having all of the mechanics and gameplay systems other fighting games have and as such more meat to the combat systems
>Has more stages and characters, characters play way more differently from each other then they do in ARMS and have way more to them with full movelists with different moves and mechanics between each
>Has a way more active competitive scene with tons of in person and online tournaments and locals, and was/is going to be at over 15 different FGC majors this year

Why haven't you switched over to Pokken yet?

Only ones with sufficient playerbases. I could play thousands of hours of PUBG if I wanted to, but It would be almost impossible to get thousands of hours of gameplay if you had to constantly wait to even find a match

cuz pokken is also shit

It was a glorified tech demo.

like u

>Pokkenfags still at it again
We get it, Pokken is shit and you're in denial. Love me some input lag and waiting 10 minutes for a match. I prefer Arms because it's an easy pick up n play game where the very fundamentals of a fighting game are tested. I don't have time to play a fighting game that requires a ton of dedication to compete amateurelly, I can enjoy Arms whenever I want.

Answer my question, faggots.

>waiting 10 minutes for a match

u wot, even as of the week before DX came out, you got matches on the WiiU version in 15-20 seconds usually. On DX now it typically only takes 5-10. If you've got input lag problems, but the wired controller and get a LAN adapter.

>I prefer Arms because it's an easy pick up n play game where the very fundamentals of a fighting game are tested. I don't have time to play a fighting game that requires a ton of dedication to compete amateurelly, I can enjoy Arms whenever I want.

And my point is pokken is also easy to pick up and play and is very neutral and fundamental focused, just without completely getting rid of the other mechanics

Rank 15, you'll have to really put in work in get there. At that rank, you'll fight way less shitters since everyone beyond 15 knows how to play the game.

Ty, man.
