It just twerks
Bethesda doesn't give a fuck about the lore of the games they develop.
Anything Bethesda does isn't canon, headache solved.
...
Bethesda did nothing wrong
buy it again
Heil Howard
FO1&2 have 20 yo potato gameplay and potato engine
>never explains how Vault-Tec acquired FEV
>never explains how the T-60 Power Armor came into existence
Because anyone that says they're a fallout fan probably never played 1 or 2.
There are a few things Bethesda did that I like.
>Naming Advanced Power Armor to [X-01]something other than "Advanced Power Armor"
> the T-45d Power Armor
>Power Armor training actually makes sense.
Then the rest is just shit. Absolutely shit.
>Lore Breaker Power Armor
>Made 6 minutes before the bombs dropped.
Shit really pisses me off.
A better explanation would've been that the T-60 is just upgraded T-45 that the Brotherhood made after acquiring Duraframe Steel and Power Armor schematics from the Enclave defeat at Adams AFB.
>mfw bethesda mixed up vault tec and west tek
>Bethesda could have logically included the T-60 into the lore as a post-war suit developed by the West Coast Brotherhood of Steel as the successor to the T-51. By using the massive amounts of T-45s found in Washington, they would be able to supplement the T-51's composite armor (strong against laser weaponry) with steel plating to better protect it against regular ammunition
>NAH SENPAI IT'S PRE-WAR ONLY MADE IN BOSTON
I forget, was Myron in Fallout 1 or was Jet introduced in Fallout 2?
>West Coast
Sure you didn't mean East Coast, user?
Yes I did, I'm retarded.
>was Myron in Fallout 1
no
>was Jet introduced in Fallout 2?
yes
...
...
like this.
>Vault Tec is a US government contractor.
>Project Safehouse is masterminded by the military/industrial complex
>not explicitly canon, but logically follows
Oldfags:
>NOOOOO BETHESDA REEEEEEEEE
Who cares fagget its a video game all i want to do is shoot zombies and super mutants and grab their loot who gives a shit about canon? lmao
I like that you can just walk away from dumb shit like Mama Murphy begging for jet but that doesn't excuse
>YES
>SARCASTIC YES
>RUDE YES
>LATER
because those games are old, no one played them lmao
West Tek is Black Isle/Obsidian
Vault-Tec is Bethesda
FEV is the Fallout franchise
It was a clarification not a retcon.
He lied to you.
Just ignore Fallout 2, Mrs Bishop, FONV and FO4?
The preponderance of evidence is it was pre war from no less than BIS,Obsidian, and Bethesda.
You have Myrons word for what that's worth.
Deal with it.
Myron lied
>X-01 power armor canonically designed by the Enclave post-war
>lmao forget that, lets put a pre-war set of it in Nuka World for some reason
>Getting that btfo
Christ.
That fridge ghoul quest has to be hands down the most triggering thing to me about FO4. Even ignoring all the other discrepancies listed above, it's still just impossible for me to wrap my head around some kid sitting in a fridgerator for 200 years straight while being mentally and physically ok.
It's like when I first saw Indiana survive a nuclear blast by hiding in a fridge in his movie's latest reboot, it was a gut punch to the stomach and made me realize it was all just going downhill from here.
Jarrett never recovered.
He shut down his account in shame.
It's a joke.
This actually explains a lot. I'm never going to play another Bethesda game with a sperg like that in the company. They should make mobile games since they don't have much reading.
there is also a ghoul in the nuka world dlc that cloned animals so he could eat them.
the writers need to make up their god damn minds.
A shit joke in bad taste, considering you also lead him to his family that are also all alive and just fine 200 years later after getting nuked in their old home
>tells you what ingredients you need and creates Jet in front of you
>tells you what ingredients you need and creates Stimpaks in front of you
>tells you what ingredients you need and creates Super-Stimpaks in front of you
>Fallout 4 never explains why Super Stimpaks disappeared from existence
>Fallout 4 never explains how suddenly everyone can create Psycho when there never was a recipe for it and was only found in pre-war military facilities
>Fallout 4 never explains how suddenly the recipe for Stimpaks changed
>Fallout 4 never explains where Healing Powder went
>Fallout 4 never explains where all the tribals went
>Fallout 4 never explains where all the prostitutes went
Hi Pete! Sorry but it was you who got btfo.
what a stupid recipe for stimpaks. Injecting antiseptic into yourself is a good way to die a painful death.
Dr Who was in Fallout 1.
There's a difference between needs to eat and eats for the sake of it.
>sperg
user, I hate to have to explain this, but Pete isn't the sperg here. He's the Chad and lorefags are the spergs. Welcome to triple-A games.
I don't see how this is contradictory. It's no different from zombies who presumably can't starve to death but still want to eat people.
Phew, thanks user. Was about to press the needle. Though I'm considering on following through seeing how much Bethesda fucked their own canon
We've known Bethesda doesn't give a fuck for a long time dude.
Actually, if you play Fallout 2, Myron states Jet is pre-war, and is the result of pre-war companies feeding thier cows a contaminated protein extract originally designed for humans, that metabolized in the cows systems, and made their shit super addictive.
Not to mention
A. Mrs. Bishop was thrown out of Vault city for using jet years before Myron started makign it again
B. Chris Avellone himself said people should like what Bethesda did in Fallout 4, given what Jet is made out of
Get a load of this deadbeat drifter making up stories about crazy shit he saw while wandering the wasteland. Disappearing telephone booths, Giant footprints and crashed UFOs? Give me a break.
Never ran into this during my playthrough.
High Luck + High Outdoorsman
B-but hey you can now build settlements! Like in your mods..
Not even the masterminds of the raid on He Will Not Divide us have the caliber of spergs as fallout oldfags/lorefags
BIS Had Mrs Bishop who claimed it was at least pre Myron.
Obsidian had Jet on the leveled lists for the Lucky 38.The doors had been closed since the great war and no one had entered prior to you.
Bethesda had it all over the place in 4.
Myron showed you how he replicated it nothing more.
The overwhelming evidence is that Myron lied.
Anything before Bethesda acquired Fallout is no longer canon, actually.
>X-01 power armor canonically designed by the Enclave post-war
Uhh no. the enclave APA was designed b ythe Ecnalve post-war
X-01 is a pre-war military prototype suit, you know, which is why it has the X designation on it, which is the standard designation for military prototype gear
Nerd BTFO!
That wouldn't make sense because its been part of canon since forever that the BoS can't make new suits of power armor, and lack any sort of large scale manufacturing capabilities.
Even the Prydwen is stated to be shit they scavenged and welded together, and not something they produced
How many years do you guys think Fallout 5 will take place after 4?
15 years is my guess
I will always enjoy these posts as some of the best formulated descriptions of the grievances I have against Bethesda's style. I do enjoy their games, but I just wish they had a different philosophy. I think Obsidian made it very clear that it's possible to make a great game in the same style while following the old rules.
>Obsidian's take on the Indiana Jones fridge joke
>completely optional if you don't take the Wild Wasteland trait
>is just a funny little thing you look at and move on
>Bethesda's take
>dude this kid has been stuck in there for 200 years, every companion comments on how fucked this is
>his parents are still around after all this time and are just down the street
>a raider wants to enslave him for some reason
>WHAT A MORAL CONUNDRUM
>High Luck
One luck so yea I guess never.
bethesda doesn't give a flying fuck about fallout's lore because they didn't create the series. they don't have the same attachment to it like they do with the elder scrolls which is why "muh 50s" is played up to a ridiculous degree and they keep forcing retarded shit like aliens and literal magic (and yes i know about the easter eggs in the old games but fallout 3 and 4 take it seriously and write plots around it)
fallout 3 at least tried to stick to old school fallout stuff by putting in the enclave and the super mutants even if they did it in a retarded way
the sad thing is that the institute and pseudo-fascist BoS have tons of potential but bethesda is fucking horrific at writing
They defeated the Enclave and kept their shit. That's why they have vertibirds. You think they couldnt have gotten control of a manufacturing station for power armor?
if the Brotherhood of Steel could have made an improved power armor suit post-war, then the Enclave would have done so already.
>and are just down the street
Actually, they would be like 10 miles away
I know people are retarded, but people can't seriously be stupid enough to try to take the in-game scale as fact right?
>a raider wants to enslave him for some reason
A. It isn't a raider, its a Gunner
B. He states he wants to enslave him because ghouls don't need food, and are immune to radiation, making them low cost slave labor.
isn't that the X-01?
>They defeated the Enclave and kept their shit. That's why they have vertibirds.
You seem to forget that both Raven Rock, and the mobileCrawler at Adams, were both literally nuked into nothingness.
All the BoS god was the Vertbirids on the airstrip outside, and shit they had in storage in warehouses.
My mistake it was in the Sierra Madre Casino not Houses.
They get repetitive sometimes and it blurs together.
Getting into locked pre war casinos was a theme so nice they used it twice.
Bethesda has no passionate developers. They're all working it as a job and nothing more. Thats the only explanation for blatant inexcusable fuckups in their games. Food being useless outside of a glitch in skyrim was disgusting and it could have easily been fixed with a patch changing values around.
>X-01 is a pre-war military prototype suit
Vegetable soup was far from useless user.
Gee who would want there to be some form of logical consistency regardless of it being in a fictional setting?
that's what i'm saying. the t-60 is redundant when you already have the APA. Also the BoS have no means to produce it. The Enclave had a lot of help and researched without much interruptions over a long period of time.
Yes and?
Vertibirds were pre-war, and still were only finished post-war by the Enclave.
You seem to be mentally handicapped and don't understand that you can have functional prototype before X date, and the item still wont be considered finished until later Y date
Hi todd
>. Food being useless outside of a glitch in skyrim was disgusting
Food should be useless you fucking sperg, it's food.
Compared to literal magic potions, it should do nothing.
Eating a block of cheese doesn't heal 5000% HP, and grant you +20STR
>implying he didn't do that so he could make 20 fake sock puppet accounts to harass bethesdevs on twitter
>and even got one so assblasted he sent a PM
Nevermind the entire Necropolis questline where they rely on their waterchip to survive and even die out without it.
This ignores the fact that Necropolis didn't have high levels of background radiation to continuously heal the ghouls there, which is why they died without food.
Ghouls don't need food so long as they are expsoded to radiation, ebcuase it's been established radiation can heal them. One ghoul back in Fallout 3 was so decript that his arms and legs would fall off, but after having them sewed back on, and being exposed to some rads, they functioned just like normal, because radiation repairs ghouls. We see this all the time with glowing ones radiation blasts healing ghouls.
Not him, but you guys are slightly missing the point. T-60 should have been described as an upgrade kit for T-45, not a brand new standalone suit. Like a TUSK for an Abrams tank. T-60 literally started life as T-45 so it makes sense.
> T-60 should have been described as an upgrade kit for T-45
Except, again, that wouldn't make sense since only the Enclave can make new forms of power armor.
Are the Automatron companions worth using or should I just stick to one of the actual characters?
No. Myron states that he discovered jet by accident, when the Mordinos slaves inhaled fumes from brahmin shit. He refined and created Jet. Before he peyote and other stuff and sold as the "New Reno experience".
So he fought the good fight with fake twitter accounts?
I believe he also makes 5 hour long videos about every flaw real and imagined in Bethesda games.
Jarret has not won at life.
Poor kid.
Test
...
Why 15?
>What is the Brotherhood of Steel?
>No. Myron states that he discovered jet by accident
fallout.gamepedia.com
Myron: Before the Big One some meat companies were experimenting with a cheap protein extract for growing food, but they had to ditch it. One little skin bacteria contaminates it, and it's all screwed
>The contaminated version acted like an amphetamine when ingested. Little side effect. Don't ask. It's, uh, technical
>When they first screwed up, they contaminated tons of that shit. And rather than ditch it, they fed it to their brahmin herds to try and recoup their losses.
The BoS have outright admitted in every game that they cannot make new PA suits.
This is a major point in Fallout 3, New Vegas, and even 4. Danse himself, if brought to an old pre-war factory, mentions how if the BoS could reconfigure these old factories to make new suits of power armor, they would be unstoppable.
Every single suit of PA the BoS has ever had is pre-war salvage, has been since the first game.
You don't need to waste your resources on building best bot Nick. Just give him a gatling laser and 30 fusion cores.
How about this:
East coast BoS canonically had a tussle with the Enclave during the events of Fallout 3 and roots through the ruins of Raven Rock. They find nearly all the computer systems are trashed, but find some engineering manuals and textbooks. Some nerdy scribe actually reads that shit and discovers how to make modifications to power armor, providing that certain core pieces like the reactor and base frame are intact. Is that just completely not plausible?
Because Betheda doesn't give a fuck, and 2 and 1 are no longer cannon.
>The BoS have outright admitted in every game that they cannot make new PA suits.
Good thing nobody is suggesting it's a new suit. T-45 armor is literally made of riveted steel plates, not complex composites.
>held back by consistent war
>constantly getting btfo and having to stay underground
>low on resources to improve technology
the Enclave have vertibirds and some of the greatest scientists with pre-war knowledge working on things
West Coast BoS straight up makes new weapons.
East Coast BoS rebuild Liberty Prime out of fucking scrap.
Who's to say they couldn't reverse engineer some Enclave salvage to make better power armor pieces for the T-45 and call them something else to differentiate.
also brings up a good point. T-45 is much more primitive and doesn't need composite materials.
>The Brotherhood turn the Capital Wasteland into a thriving military state in 10 years or under.
What again, faggot? The West Coast Brotherhood is the one that keeps their asses underground because they pissed of the biggest nation in post-war America and are completely outnumbered.
I thought the idea of people turning into ghouls before the nukes hit was a neat idea. But the execution was just awful.
>Eddie somehow gained info that the bombs will hit
>Eddie finds a doctor that miraculously figured out how to turn people into ghouls
>Eddie willingly turns himself in a decaying monster because he thinks it will let him live forever
This is retarded even for bethesda.
I used a big ol' sentry bot loaded with tesla gear so he could carry all my shit.
Why is she so perfect?
>i've never played Fallout 1 or 2 before
>Her personality was engineered by three nerds trapped in a room until it was too perfect to change.
>French accent.
>Synth body will never age.
jeez user I wonder why.
so are people in the Bethesda Fallout games' universe smart or dumb?
>There's no way Shady Sands will ever expand over California, they're just some small town in Fallout 1
Autism. Shit changes.
