Destiny Thread

Is 343, dare I say it?....... Better than Bungie at this point?

Yep. I fell for that meme again. Playing Destiny 2 was fun at first but the feeling was lost rather quickly. Obviously playing with friends is fun but by it's self, I just can't seem to play it any further. So, thoughts? Opinions? Experiences? Stories? Or perhaps rumors? Discuss.

They're both fucking garbage.
If comparing degrees of garbage is really that important for you, then I guess go for it, you fucking idiot.

>Destiny 2
>Discuss
Heh. You're funny.

If only it had a chat system. I don't want to rely on third party websites to find groups. I want to meet people ingame and talk to them, maybe even find friends. That's an important part on any MMO. That is the only real problem I have with it. Otherwise it's fun, a bit shallow but entertaining nonetheless.

>He doesn't compare his garbage

Honestly their pvp is the biggest fucking dumped lazy piece of shit I've ever seen in the last 15 years.

Also why am I grouping for content online on forums and alternate websites, is this 2007?

This is a 48 million dollar game, fucking spend it on the god damn game.

>Halo 5
>Garbage
Campaign? Totally. Multiplayer? Have you been living under a rock?

>my best friend is into these games
>"the enemies aren't HP sponge dude" he says

how do I save him? Is killing him the only way?

Gameplay-wise both are fine. Holy shit though both of their stories/dialogue are complete shit. Can anyone at either studio write anymore?

Here's praying for Halo 6.

There really isnt a difference between Halo 5 and Destiny 2. Both removed content the previous game(s) had for no reason and their main meta is just 4v4 teamshotting

True, I managed to trick 5 other dudes and made a guild with them, learning the mechanics on the go is fun as fuck, I couldn't imagine how boring it'd be if I were playing alone and getting lost in Leviathan. Definitely a game that should be played with 5 other people.

>public chat
Why would they not put this in
I don't understand.

Oh boy do I love grind for rarer items so I can grind more: The Game

Nope, I had more fun with Destiny than I did with Halo 4, and more fun with Destiny 2 than I did with Halo 5.

Didn't they diminish grinding?

You have never played halo 5.

Seriously, why is there no chat system on PC? It feels like a step back to even the Division.

Seriously. I can't believe they left it out with the excuse that "oh people are toxic goy you don't want to talk to them ;))"

>It's shit
It's really not, you just need friends or join a discord clan. Go do that, form a clan of newbies and go into Leviathan, reach the royal pools and beat it, then come back and tell me that wasn't the most fun you had in a videogame.

>Bungie: Trust us. You don't want to talk to foul people online.
>Consume: Isn't that why the mute option is there?
>Bungie: What's that?

It's shit kid. Even compared to its previous iteration it's taken quite a few steps back. So many improvements and QoL changes over the course of D1's lifespan gone without a trace, and nothing to replace it.

Well, maybe because I didn't play Destiny 1 I find it fun, it nay be fake fun to you but not for me.

>hey gaiz halo 5 totally plays good and if you don't agree with me well ur just a casual / nostalgiafag / not-true halo fan / you didn't play it, I mean, ARE YOU JOKING? LITERALLY PERFECT WEAPON BALANCING, GAIZ, THE AR HAS THE EXACT SAME TTK AS THE BATTLE RIFLE, THAT'S HOW FUCKING BALANCED MY GAME IS, AND EVERYONE KNOWS THAT BALANCE EQUALS FUN FACTOR... rr-right gaiz?

I never said it was shit. Just boring.
>you just need friends
I do play with friends. That's the only reason why I go back to that game. Otherwise I'd be playing Halo. None of them actually played a single Halo game until last week. I think they're starting to adore it more too.

>I didn't play Destiny 1
That's fair enough to be honest. For those coming from D1, D2 has been a major disappointment, but if this is your first rodeo with the franchise it's probably a decent time. Glad you're having fun at least

what did they take out of d1?

Gesundheit.

The oh so little fun it had in the game.
RIP Titan skating 2014-2017

>opinions I don't like are bait

A meaning to grind, being able to choose your strike, story mission or Crucible game mode, super powerful exotics that made u squeal like a lil bitch who got a pony

>Using that meme
You're late.

>their main meta is just 4v4 teamshotting
Yes, your educated opinion on the matter is appreciated

>Implying

In D1:
>Sub classes had full on grids of perks to pick and choose at your leisure rather than the clusters in D2

>Legendary Weapons and Armour could drop with an assortment of randomized perks (which are also more extensive than what we have in D2). This made it so duplicates were always worth the time as you could chase a perfect combination of perks on a piece of gear you really liked.

>D2 PvP has increased TTK, and decreased mobility across the board, resulting in very campy team shooting focused gameplay. Extremely anti-solo-player environment.

>You were free to choose specific PvP game modes to queue for

>You were free to choose specific strikes to queue for

>Loot wasn't centralized around the retarded token system we have now. There were methods to outright buy stuff, as well as the usual RNG methods.

>Weapon loadouts were more fun (Primary, Special, Heavy) as opposed to the current Kinetic, Elemental, Heavy we have now.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more. Even the Leviathan I find is on the lower end of raids compared to the D1 raids.

I think you've put your thought in green text by accident buddy.

Regardless of what you think, you don't get to assume that the burden of proof lies on other people with a subjective matter. I'd like to hear why you think halo 5's mp is good, and don't give me an advertisement.

>Taking anyone on Sup Forums seriously
It's okay. We all fall at some point.

So do PCFags like Destiny now that it’s on PC?

>online-only
worst in the series for this reason alone, no argument.

>Plays Halo only for the story
I don't blame you for disliking Halo 5....

shallowest "RPG"

I wish the planets were bigger.
Lost sectors are really neat.
I'm glad they took away random rolls on legendaries.

No we're all done with it already.

>I wish the planets were bigger
I think what you meant are bigger areas to explore around the worlds but yeah, I agree.

>being able to choose your strike
was this in Destiny 1?
I thought that was only an option for strikes you needed to specifically do for quests.
exotics do feel really underwhelming, they should at least let you use two if they're going to be this shitty

the framerate's better

b8
lost sectors are worthless and 90% of assets are wasted because X has a shit roll and will never be good

I didn't say they were "10/10 content, would grind all day like an autist", just that they're neat, as in, cool to look at.

Halo 5 has more gamemodes, varied team sized, has ranked, has proper matchmaking and has a higher skill ceiling and it's more engaging
Destiny 2 PvP is a stale as fuck waiting game

PvP should've been abandoned

It seems so fucking bizarre they actually removed game modes from PvP.
Are they added some back in with the first expansion or what?

it's just maps in the 1st DLC

That seems silly, what's wrong with a classic deathmatch or team deathmatch? That's probably easier to make than the current game modes.

12/15 missions of the game are where you play as the black guy who normally dies within 30 seconds of the the start of the movie.

This.

I want this game to demand my time, but it doesn't, so I don't expect anything of it.

That's why he said campaign was shit.

Do we know what the drop rates are for everything? Like a breakdown of percentages for heroic events or loot sectors, 10% legendary, 60% rare, etc
