How do you motivate yourself to get a platinum trophy?

How do you motivate yourself to get a platinum trophy?

i usually just stop playing after i beat a game.

Ive only done it for Steins Gate. Thats because i really fuckin liked that game. And it was kinda easy. But usually when i consider myself finished with a game i dont bother with them.

You don't. They're just there for people with autism.

I only did it for journey, but I'm on the verge of several others.

Depends on the game desu. Some games have really tedious plats that aren't worth your time.

>Beat a game
>look at the trophy list
>"These are actually pretty easy."

That's about it.

I only do it for games that I really fucking love and want to get the most out of. I've only got around 11 plats.

>games like ToS or KH:ReCoM needs like 6 playthroughs to platinum
Nope
>Sonic Adventure 2 is getting all 180 emblems
Don't have the patient for Chao Garden emblems like 16 years ago
>some Rockstar game with online trophies
Nope
>fighting games demanding hours and hors and hours of online fights
Nope

Because of this shit i have games missing 3 or 4 trophies to platinum.

i only get the 1000g if i really like the game and there are no tedious achievements like beating the game on the hardest difficulty or kill 10000000000 enemies with some shitty weapon

>SA2
Is that on ps3? Or ps4

>beat game
>reall enjoyed but know it would be boring to replay again
>decide to look at trophies/achievements
>they look prettt fun, might as well play again while trying to get these
Done. I use it as more of an incentive to replay some games. Like the KH games, i have beaten them so many times and of they didn't have trophies i wouldn't have played them again and again as while it is fun, it gets boring after like the 50th time

>caring about a virtual trophy
if you're not having fun doing it the challenge for itself, it's never worth your time

I plat games that i only like. Actually caring about the leader board and platting dumb games like my name is mayo is what i consider retarded tier

If i want to keep playing the game, I will

if I don't, then I don't

>caring about virtual games

See, shitter, I can do that too.

Fuck online achievements/trophies
Absolutely worse thing ever, have so many games that i won't get all the achievements for because of online trophies/achievements

lets settle this once and for all which had the better sound?

I plat most games I own because I only buy games I like, even though it happens to be quite a few games

>not seeing the difference
let me spell it out for you
in one case, you play a game to have fun
in the other, you grind to get a meaningless retard reward

A few years back I did complete a few games 100%. Now with work and all that it's just too much of a hassle.

But I'd definitely love to have 100% in Halo MCC.

>Doesn't like trophies that some of it are actually worthy of being considered as a trophy as a display of actual skill

What a fucking disgusting casual

It's only for games I really like, I use it as an excuse to play more of the game

it's dopamine in both cases
fun is a buzzword

i dont mind them. but if the online is dead the devs should just update it where you automatically get all the online achievements. not sure if m$ would allow that tho

If i really like a game ill plat it if it doesnt have annoying trophies like "fish every fish" or "grind for this sword".

This. Though I fucking underestimated that Rise trophy in persona 4 gold, what were they thinking.

I really love Disgaea games, but for Disgaea complete editions and such usually have a requirement to collect all items and view all skills, which is easily 300-400 hours I bet. I platinumed Disgaea 4 on the Vita and damn, I never feel like platinuming a game again.

When I was a kid I loved Killzone 2 so I tried to get the platinum. Had every trophyt but the ones for global weekly ranking in multiplayer, with trophies for top 1%, top 3%, etc.
I played my ass off for a week, stomping everyone constantly. Sunday night rolls around and I stay up to see my ranking.
>2%.
I was so fucking mad I rage-quit then and there. Never played it again.

I check if it has a "complete on the hardest difficulty" trophy and attempt the hardest difficulty.

>servers for game or whatever go down
>can't even play the online portion let alone show my skills in that area
Face it, rewards like trophies that are tied to online suck

No motivation needed, I just like the feeling of completing things, and it helps get the most out of my purchases.

That being said although I've completed almost everything, I wont bother if it's not fun or if I don't think it's worth it

I only ever care about trophies if I'm 80% away from perfect or I've beaten the game and am only at 50%. My interest will then disappear if they are multiplayer focused trophies.

I don't. I only for platinum if I'm close after beating the game and none of the remaining trophies are a pain in the ass.

>When I was a kid I loved Killzone 2
underage detected.

I keep playing until I stop having fun. If that's long before the Plat, I don't care enough.

I miss getting plats though. I wanted to get tons this year but haven't because I got a job.

Really tempted to start spending a lot of time in certain games to get plats in games I really care about. Thinking about Tales of Xillia right now.

i mostly game on pc, so if i play a ps4 game its going to be a really sick one in which case i'll like it so much i dont mind getting the platinum, but i may give up if its too hard cuz im a shitstain pleb (yakuza kiwami otometal my life 950 pts fuck off)

I'm 22. What the fuck do you think kid means?

Last plat was REmake.
Nearly lost my fucking mind replaying that game 5 or 6 times in a row, i dont remember. Invisible enemies + knife was fun.

>platinum on all those warriors games
Damn dude, I like those games and all but really?
Which one would you recommended? I haven't played one since Hyrule warriors

LOOK AT HOW HUGE MY E-PENIS IS

But Xillia has boring "use this character's move 50 times!" BS. Xillia and Xillia 2 aren't difficult platinums at all, but they can get repetitive because of this.

anyone below the age of 30

Meh, it's just something to do if you really want to keep playing a game. Trophy hunting is kinda dumb.
>I say having spent a decent chunk of my teens and early twenties hunting trophies to the point I have 56 platinums

Any game w/ a fishing achievement I feel compelled to complete.
t Master Baiter

PS3. Why?
Thinking back i never got all emblems on the GC version, just the Dreamcast version once and that was enough.

>platinum Yakuza games
Fucking hell. I will probably try Kiwami 2 because that was the only Yakuza i tried to 100% back then

>Xenoverse 1
Forgot about this thing. Never played the online version of that so i am missing those online trophies

Yeah, but I love the game and I have a sense of pride towards earning Plats in games I especially like.

Depends on the game. If I liked the game and it is actually challenging achievement I have no problem doing it. A good example would be Furi. But if getting all the achievements just means doing tedious tasks I would rather just not do it. A good example would be Dark Souls.

True, true. Xillia just wasn't my thing as much, I loved to death Vesperia though and did all cheevos for that one.

>tfw regret finishing/buying half of these games

Anyone who has those easy or quick to plat games like what said ain't proving shit and are just desperate trophy shitters worth shooting down.

Just my two cents

You're a brave soul. Play NIER, you will be fishing and farming to your hearts content.
Good luck Master.

my autism makes me finish it

Yeah, Warriors games are usually grindy as fuck for platinums, but once I put my mind to something, I usually get it done. The worst grind I ever put myself through was doing Smash 4's challenges without using any hammers, so nothing really phases me.

As far as what I'd recommend, Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is easily the best of the bunch for the roster alone. Samurai Warriors 4 was also really good just because it was my first Samurai game, so it was different from what I'd come to expect with Dynasty Warriors.

Dragon Quest Heroes is okay.

Both of the Empires games, I'd probably skip, but if you wanted one, get SW4E because it isn't as barebones as DW8E

Yakuza 0 was pretty rough because of the catfight mini-game and some of the arcade games, but it was fun. Kiwami was a cakewalk in comparison.

Xenoverse's online stuff are pretty tame, it was the RNG skill acquisition that was pretty bad

Only Platinum Trophies I've gotten are from VNs.

I was thinking of getting the plat for REmake

How difficult is it?

>tfw plat 3
If it has a complete X minigame 100% dont do it.
Dont do it user.
I spent 2 days trying to beat some cheating cunt at pool.

Trophies/achievements are cancer made exclusively for shildren to show off their micro e-peen

>cheevos

Nah, you're just a faggot who doesnt finish their games and acts smug about it.

Only hard one is the no save one.
Real survivor is a pain in the ass.
By the time you star Inv. Enemies you'll be so fucking good you can do the knife only.
Do it if you really like Remake.

What triggers you retards about these threads? No one asked you and you clearly dont care about trophies so why bother coming here to purposely get angry?

artificial replaying value

I have the Xillia plat, it takes for fucking ever so I hope you have podcast of youtube videos to help you with the monotony

>needing some arbitrary "grind for 1000 hours" trophy to tell you that you finished the game

>REEEEEEEEE ONLY POST IF YOU AGREE WITH MEEEEEEEE

How's that Resistance 2 platinum going?

Take your meds buddy. Sounds like you will have an aneurysm if you keep sperging out like this.

>REEEEEEEEE ONLY POST IF YOU AGREE WITH MEEEEEEEE

funny how it goes both ways

Majority of games can be plated in less than 60 hours. You're just making things up to damage control your shitterness.

>OP asking how you motivate yourself you get platinum trophies
>i dont
>reeeee dont post then

>artificially extending the length of the game by 3x just to stroke your e-peen

this

You sounds really insecure tbqh

Says the one needing to show off their e-peen

I only get them for games I really love or if it's a Batman game. Aside from Arkham Origins and it's retarded impossible online achievements, they've all got dat plat.

Gonna do the Steam ones soon.

I created another id because of this

I don't show it off though, are you mentally ill?

Says the autist triggered about those showing off their e-peen.

Yup. I'm the one triggered. Not the autists screeching that I insulted their precious expurt gaymer points. You sure showed me.

I do it purely out of OCD.

I have one platinum trophy and I got it a couple weeks ago.
After beating the game I had only a handful of trophies left and they seemed easy enough so I did it.

I do it out of some misguided drive to get as much as possible out of paying for a game

Huh, there's some fucking pop up in the way of playing the game.
Some achievementfag shit.
Cool it's gone now.

Share your profiles.

>posting PSN id here on Sup Forums

nice going faggot

See, I just lose all motivation to Platinum the Yakuza games after I complete all of the substories. Getting 100% is just too tedious and I'm never going to be able to understand Mahjong or Shogi. That Seven Pairs trophy in 4 is giving me the shits and I finally got one IN KIWAMI. Was so fucking pissed off.

Xillia 2's list is so fucking terrible. They even rehashed the trophy list and just made you do everything 300 fucking times.

Does Kiwami have that max out Haruka's affection trophy, cuz fuck that shit.

>20 homeruns in expert baseball in Y1
never again.

How many hours did Berseria take?

I've only played Kiwami and 0, so I don't have the full context on the series, but at least in those two, shogi is easily cheesed. Mahjong is actually fun so I don't care how it takes to finish.

Yes. The only bad part was having to beat expert level AI at pool. That shit gave me cancer

I used to autist some tedious Plats, but for the past 3 years or so, I've only gone for Platinums when theyve acted as a sort of road map/blue print to accomplish everything in the game that isn't a boring (collect all 100 pieces of shit)

IE; Bloodborne is almost the perfect example of a platinum trophy. (Disregarding the 3 unique endings/playthroughs, as the game deserves them)

Don't remember the exact time, but well over 100 hours

Grinding to level 200 and those titles though

>Project Diva f takes about 20 hours but doesn't overstay its welcome and is a nice fun list
>f 2nd
>LOL LET'S PUT THE DIVA ROOM ON A F2P TIMER SO YOU HAVE TO COME BACK EVERY 15 MINUTES ALSO YOU CAN'T GIVE THEM THE SAME GIFT OVER AND OVER
Took me 60 fucking hours of that shit. Never again.
And then came X........

Planning to plat some of my backlog until MHW releases

How long is Disgaea 3 absence of detention take me?

>Transformers Devastation on PS+
>"oh this is fun enough I guess I'll get the Platinum"
Pretty sure these trophies will forever be the rarest I ever get, and the game wasn't even that hard.

I only ever platinum'd one game, which was NFS 2015. Got the trophy within a week of release because the game was so easy.

All of that was just by chance though, i dont really give a shit about trophies

I see that I don't have 100% and continue. As long as there's no ridiculous multiplayer achievements or trophies I like going for it because it's nice to look back and see you did everything.

Platinuming Yakuza games isn't that hard outside of 3 and 0 from what I've seen of 0, it's just very time consuming the further into it you go. 5 took me 160 hours and Ishin took me around 170, but the reason Ishin takes so long is because 70% of it is just grinding the same thing over and over.

>Yakuza 3
> 2 weeks
How?
I can't even do some of the substories in it.

What are you having trouble with? The only problems I had was with Expert pool and darts, and with darts you eventually learn how to 180 every turn to give the middle finger to the NPCs. It's even better in 4, Dead Souls, and 5 because the AI is so toned down and you end up slaughtering them with your 180s.

>boy that game was fun! I want to play more
>wow these challenges in the trophies sound like fun, lets do them

Trophies are just an excuse to keep playing a game you really like

How on earth do you do the harder difficulty baseballs?
