You wanna play through NG with the kickass scythe? Too fuckin bad! You can only get it from the final boss! In fact, ALL the cool weapons are only available late in the game.

You wanna play through NG as a coop support? Too fuckin bad! The only healing spell is 30 seconds away from the first final boss!

You wanna play through NG killing lots of enemies with your spells? Too fuckin bad! The only efficient damage spells are gated behind high level content!

When will the NG+ meme die?

when people stop liking it you fucking tard

>finishing games
Get a life user

This is a legitimate criticism, the DLC fixed weapon variety on paper but it still comes after you've beaten 2/3 of the game

Just use cheat engine to give yourself the item at the start, what's the problem?

So if it is some kind of formula repeated more than twice it becomes a meme? Are two joysticks a meme? Is using spells a meme? Is having a boss theme a meme? Having different weapons a meme? Open/linear missions? HP bar? Crafting? Leveling up? What the fuck is wrong with you?
Obviously better stuff requires more experience so people don't use the same shit.
This game is the worst example for everything you are whining because you can use all of those weapons/features in optional bosses or dungeons

You can go there after the second boss in the game, just run passed the enemies and grab the weapon you want. I did this for the Amygdala Arm weapon and used it for an entire playthrough.

I haven't played bloodborne but there's kind of that feeling in souls games too, although most likely in a lesser way since bloodborne's weapons and spells feel more unique I guess

>high-level content
>in a souls-borne
>high-level
If you can't beat the game under level forty, kys

I know Souls-tards will come flooding in to defend their holy cow, but this is a legitimate flaw which greatly annoys me. They have at least mitigated it by making the weapons available through chalice dungeons, but they specifically went out of their way prevent that. The ONE chance for chalice dungeons to redeem themselves, and they fuck it all up.

>So if it is some kind of formula repeated more than twice it becomes a meme?
>having 2+ items working at the same time is the same as having them separated for two different playthroughs

i know this isn't /sci/ but i never thought i'd see someone conflating the flow of time with matter at one point in time, holy shit

wow, it's almost as though progressing through a game might make your character stronger. weird how an RPG with a leveling system goes about that, aye?

To be fair you can make a suicide run for most of the DLC weapons once you gain access to it. I think the only ones that aren't immediately available is the HMS, Church Pick, Rakuyo, Bloodletter, and Kos Parasite.

You have to beat Ludwig before the best DLC weapons. So you have to beat (and thus also be unable to use on the weapons on him either) a boss stronger than the final boss of the game before you get your "starting" weapon. Nobody sane can defend this.

>you wanna get cool stuff in the game?
>too fucking bad you have to actually play it!
kys retard

>first final boss
.....What?

It's a PS4 game, nigga.

You can get the best version of the scythe before even beating shadows

then quit being a cry-baby, use the equipment you found already so you can progress past the boss to use the "best" DLC weapons.
Holy fuck, your first sentence alone sums up how inane your argument is.

The game can end after you fight the first final boss, but you have the option to fight up to 2 more.

>You have to beat Ludwig before the best DLC weapons
That's not right. Pizza cutter comes before Ludwig

I wish there was an early game bloodtinge weapon. Having to beat Logarius for the Chikage and be more or less finished with the DLC to use the Bloodletter sucks.

One of the best weapons, at least one of the most fun to use.

Does Kos parasite get really good if I add 100 or so flat arcane damage?

Can you get lost and uncanny weapons before the regular one? I thought they didnt become available to buy until you've unlocked them in the story.

Kos parasite AoE gets pretty nasty with flat arcane gems, though it gets edged out by high arcane build. With flat arc though, a person has to avoid all the hits, whereas with % gems most of the damage comes on the last hit.
The regular hit damage is a little subpar with flat arc though

that only applies to the DLC weapons. The scythe is fair game.

some people want to be able to experience the early game with a greater variety of weaponsm for replay value. Fighting Gascoigne in NG is very different from NG+, but you can only do it with 5 different weapons.

Yeah, I can see how that's a huge problem then. Sucks to be a console player, I guess.

You guys are right, this kind of content locking is completely reasonable. In fact, it should be retroactively applied to the older games too. For Dark Souls, the basic Soul Arrow spell should only be available post Seath, and miracles should be locked until Ornstein and Smough. This is completely fair, since if you care about spells/miracles that much, you're just going to rush them. If you argue otherwise you're just a whiny pussy.

You can use the Burial Blade in NG by using a Bold Hunter's Mark during Moon Presence.

Anyone know how active the online is? I wanna know if it's wise to get another month of PS4 membership. I'm sitting pretty at the end of the DLC, everything done except that Rakuya.
Don't fall for the beast-embrace jew.

They already took this design philosophy with them into dark souls 3 I'm afraid
Magic is ass until late game, and the only decent offensive miracles are in the final dlc and behind nameless king

Ask /bbg/ they know for sure. Also they have these pvp sessions all the time

Butvthe coolest one is a starter weapon.

You get your first ranged Arcane attack option right at the start of the game. After Papa Gascoigne you get a close ranged one. I don't see why they should give you the fancy stuff right at the start.

Too bad being cool =! being useful.

Haven't played BB, but I agree about NG+ in general, at least in RPGs. I honestly don't get why would people even do that, right after completing a game I'm usually far too burned out to immediately beat it again and if I want to replay it after a while, I much prefer start anew with a different build than complete the game with the same character again

>tfw I bought the DLC when it first came out and still haven't played it at all.

What do?

Find a friend or kind user and play through it, recommended level is 70, but if you're skilled enough, you can get through it at much earlier levels.

Yeah, I did it at 50-60

The threaded cane IS useful bitch, I had no problem with it on my SKL runs.

I'm not saying you can't beat the game with it, but you're passing up much better weapons at the same time. Blade of Mercy, Chikage, and Burial Blade, Church Pick, Simon's Bowblade and the Rakuyo are much better SKL weapons. The only thing the Threaded Cane has going for it is great range, but it's not terribly fast and the damage is way too low to bother using it against a single target.

NG+ is where you actually get to roleplay as the finalized version of the character you're going for, but if you can't have fun on your MC's journey to getting there then you can fuck off

Being a Belmont > all.
