We don't need to do some stupid fucking FF cycle bullshit. No 15 is just better than 13. Even with all of its flaws and severe lacking in major areas, the game was still a game and not an autobattle hallway simulator. 13 will never be topped on my biggest disappointments of all time list. I actually can't think of a game I hate more.

I did think 13-2 fixed a lot of the problems. Both it and 13-3 were better than 15. But sure as fuck not 13 itself.

XIII-2 is basically reverse X-2, where it starts out gloomy and weird, gets really goofy, then tears the MC's head off and does a slam dunk into full on unprotected smiles suffering

LR is practically an open world Valkyrie Profile game but with every role played by characters from the FFXIII trilogy. It's not bad but very apparent that it could have been a separate IP instead

Both are leagues better in terms of combat and content, though

The combat in 13-2 and LR is objectively well designed, and there's fuckton of customisation, build diversity is great, and it's just fun to play. I also love the time travel aspects of 13-2 and time limit of 13-3 so you are in for a genuinely good games which are overlooked because of the cowadutiness of 13-1.

Besides, XIII had great visuals, great OST, and the absolutely best variant of ATB combat system, ever. The enemy and world design were also good, and the lore's fascinating .

13 is a chore because the tutorial no shit lasts 30 hours but once it's in full swing, it's a good not great game.

15 broke my heart just because of the squandered potential and hype but replaying it months later with reasonable expectations I had a good time. I would say it's better than 13, but very simple, obvious changes could have made it great and they distract me and kinda upset me.

XV was a side step.

Both Nabaat and Cid were so wasted as characters. In fact, entire civil war seems like a much more interesting premise than "chosen group saving the world" nonsense.

Only FF game I was able to play til the very ebd. The other ones lose me after a couple of hours. FF13 though, fucking loved it. The music, the scenery, Lightining, even though she looked grumpy all the time and didn't talk much, I fucking liked her. I remember being blown away with how her hair mover with the wind, never seen anything like it in a video game at that time. My desktop background was some fan art of her.

Man this brought back good memories. Probably FF13 was the only FF game I'll ever play. Not my type at all, don't know how or why that one in particular clicked with me. I remember the hardcore FF fans didn't like it. Was it too casual? Probably why I got hooked.

problem is ff13's full swing is like five hours cumulative tops. it's just not a well paced game at all and when you finally do get a degree freedom from fucking endless corridors it just turns into an unnecessarily large zone.
