Please die

>get the governments attention and tell them to regulate video games
Someone call jack thompson

the EA damage control is real

It's absolute bullshit that you can't get crates or unlock any of this stuff just by playing the game. I shouldn't be forced to buy these things.

I can't imagine they would actually do much aside from having ESRB take stricter action with these games.

>being so contrarian that you shitpost in favor of EA
cmon user youre better than this

swear to god this is a targeted marketing campaign by either activision or bethesda to take down EA a couple pegs

That'd be fucking awesome, I want to see corporate warfare get more serious.

t. EA reputation manager

I would honestly rather government regulation of video games than a future of lootcrates and micro transactions and online passes in full price games

>i cant stop buying western AAA garbage

off self

>having rules is a bad thing
fuck off

we is shadowrun and/or cyberpunk 2020

Well, the game is rated T so no kiddies should be playing it, but games with loot boxes should all be rated as 18+

>He's buttmad because everyone is hating on his precious nerdcore Science Fiction Star Wars series

Fuck off fag.

It's really sad, cus the game itself is pretty damn good.

Cool! I'll call Anita and we can go to the UN with a five point plan for regulation of games.

Let's start with some laws to improve diversity.

What are you on about episode 4 was popular as soon as it came out in 77

did you know rules are both-ways agreed upon? regulations are just tyranny

>regulations are just tyranny

exactly. fuck net neutrality

This isn't the first game to have loot crates. kids have been gambling for years now... so why is this specific game the first to be the target of boycotting?

wow thanks for virus OP

nobody click!!!

Apparently it gives an edge or something gameplay wise, it also makes it possible to unlock heroes and shit quicker

I wouldn't give a fuck about net neutrality if the telecom industry was deregulated, which it isn't

Could probably see gambling be bumped up to an instant M rating. Not sure how much good that would do though, since the country is full of irresponsible parents.

they pushed too far with a much beloved franchise. It's literally a mobile game design in 60$ game - you have daily login rewards, you have ot wait several hours to be able to get rewards from arcade mode, you have straight up upgrades in loot crates (if you pay a lot of money you'll literally wipe the floor with retards who want to grind it out).

>regulations are just tyranny
Just like most of the custome-publisher relationships in the industry, so fuck them, they deserve it.

I'd rather have that just to spite the disgusting corporate shills.

(cont)

Just like up the prices to run an ISP in any country -- 99,999999% of it will be all concessions and licenses you've to pay because of the """""""""""""""""""""""regulatory"""""""""""""""""""" agencies.

First kill your bosses then kill yourself fucking disgusting shill.

look up*

the same agencies that are literally controlled by verizon and comcast. that's not regulation. that's corporations running your government and doing whatever the fuck they want

I appreciate the mention of shadowrun in this thread, I'm waiting for 2076 and waiting for the world to literally be 5e, hopefully life will be just as complicated as the game KEK,

Why do you falseflag so much

>so fuck them, they deserve it.

That's where you don't understand it, regulations just raise the bar for the middle and small man to be in that industry. EA will have all the money in the world to find the loopholes and fit the diversity quotas.

Ugh, we need regulations to get white male shitlords like you out of the culture

If they were deregulated then they would be able to complete those merger deals that they've been trying for years, forming a super monopoly that can charge whatever they want. No community coop would be able to match their offerings, and any group that tried would simply be bought out.
I mean if you want 5 mbps down with a $50 subscription to 3-4 news site and a data cap, be my guest. I'd rather have speeds that remotely match the civilized world and the ability to do whatever the fuck I wanted to online.

Tell me a single government in that world that isn't completely entangled with corporate interests? You're just being naive to think more government will solve anything.

Honestly though running to the higher ups at Disney and telling them that their big new Star Wars game promotes gambling is way more effective that bitching to EA about it.

They don't know shit about video games so they'll just get worried and go bitch to EA's executives who will get worried about losing the license.

>Video games, as with all media, are already regulated through laws, as in you can't make a full pornographic game and sell it to children. Everyone is ok with this.

>But regulating gambling encouraging loot crate cancer which has literally no upside for the consumer is somehow bad.

Is this a meme argument or is this thread literally full of EA shills at this point?

>All these predictions based on nothing

look up Somalia's telecom industry -- it literally became THE BEST in the whole continent of Africa just because there was no central government when it started developing.

>Video games, as with all media, are already regulated through laws, as in you can't make a full pornographic game and sell it to children. Everyone is ok with this.
Not really, ESRB is self-regulated and was made as a compromise between the government oriented rating agency and and video game industry. The ratings are self-enforced through industry standards

Did you just assume my race and gender pablo?

>Video games, as with all media, are already regulated through laws, as in you can't make a full pornographic game and sell it to children. Everyone is ok with this.

Literally nobody should be OK with the way these laws are used to justify censorship.

Bravely Second
FE Fates
DoAX3 being BANNED
Xenoblade X
Tokyo Mirage Sessions

You're naive for thinking less government will do anything either lol.
In either situation the oligarchic corporations win, so your choices are between the slightly more difficult route of regulation, or communism. Letting them run away with it is just going to be Robber Barons 2.0.

>Sup Forums has hated EA for years
>reddit finally turn against them

The only people still defending them are all the gafugees we've been stuck with, don't they have a new site already?

first, the logical thing to do is to get corporations out of the government by outlawing lobbying.
second - without regulations you'll move hundreds of years back into the land of child labor, private firefighters, private police and pinkertons.
Corporations are not your friends. If government did not protect you from them they'd gladly sell you for organs to the highest bidder. If that's the world you want to live in, then be my guest.

>the best on the african continent
Please tell me you don't actually use this in legit arguments.

There are no laws
They do it out of their own volition to
1) Get better ratings from rating organizations
2) Get more sales from wider audience
3) Cover their asses in case of possible lawsuit

>outlawing lobbying.

are you being serious right now

Huhhhh it fits the argument perfectly -- a industry developing in the middle of war torn country fairs better than even South-Africa just because there's no government to trample the free market.

yes

Fair enough. But since pathetic gamer manbabbies don't have the willpower to vote wih their wallets by avoiding EA products with anti-consumer practices, they do deserve all the cancer new regulations can possibly bring.

I hope all those who still pay for EA games drown in their soulless, generic EA abominations they call games.

"I expect the corrupt government to police itself"

whoaaaa, this is the level of delusion on this thread right now

You are not going to reverse-psych any of us into not thinking EA is a blight on gaming you fucking faggot.

no. I expect voters to finally start demanding to purge government from corruption instead of demanding to be fucked in the ass more often.

>le slippery slope
that's not how regulations work, even just regulating lootboxes would be a huge fight

>laws against murder are tyranny because the murderer didnt agree to it

You can get everything ingame dipshit
