Waho-
No, it looks like it's running on mobile hardware.
It looks almost as good as the PC version, user
...
This looks realer than in IRL waoh
I love how it looks and runs worse than how the same game ran on my old toaster which could run PS3 quality games(as in, games that were both on PC and on PS3) at most
My single core athlon 64 4000+ 2GB RAM 9800GT 512MB ran it better.
devs will fix it
Anti-aliasing pak for Nintendo Switch (sold separately) when?
That's not actually how this game looks is it?
i fucking doubt it
they already got ue3 working on the switch and the money from early buyers. that's about as far as they'll go
>those jaggies
OH NO NO NO NO
That's just handheld mode, right?
Reminder that the best looking Switch game, Super Mario Odyssey, is like 5GB and runs at 60fps 1080p.
Rocket League and NuDoom are barely able to run and are developed by the same inexperienced team and not the original developers.
handheld mode runs at 576p and it doesnt look like that
it's adaptive res so it happens randomly and on docked mode too
but on docked mode at least there's some AF
>1080p
>the worst version of the game is still a good game
Sup Forums's little mind cant understand this
>first party devs know more about the hardware than people porting third party games
whoa
>b-b-b-but it's portable
>so long as you contrive to only ever be outside your house in areas with Wifi that don't require authentication
not if it's so blurry it's unplayable
>not near a cafe, a library, or a mcdonalds
in america we have at least one of those almost every city block. It's residential areas that tend not to have any open wifi
Who the fuck goes to those places to play video games?
>first party devs know the hardware better than a team tasked with rushing two games to market because the original developers refuse to work
Gee
>port of a PC game by people who have never worked with Nintendo tech before
>compared to a game developed in-house by the developers of the console
You're already using your phone for voice chat and friend services, you might as well burn your WiFi in portable mode after paying your corporate rapist his fee for the honor of P2P connections.
I go there to get coffee and or food while on lunch break (yes most libraries now have a mini-cafe in them) Grab the wifi pass and take a half hour to drink my coffee, eat my croissant, andplay my game then go back to work.
>Giving a shit about graffix
>Giving a shit about Rocket League
what did he mean by this
Based Son-
>Nintendo literally begging 3rd party devs to port their game only to be given scraps and told to hire someone else to do it
why are you even here then nigga?
If not for graphics or skill based gameplay, what the fuck do you like about games?
Unless you work in the cafe at the library, there's no way you're doing all of that in a half hour.
Shit like this is why if I had a Switch I'd only play games meant strictly for the Switch (and MAYBE some low-demand games like Hollow Knight or something). Plenty of decent looking and running 1st party games but nothing 3rd party that's making me excited
my lunch break is an hour (it is the standard and required because of the labor laws in my state) it takes about 10 minutes to walk there if I walk slow. There's typically a line so I give myself a ~10 minute cushion.
Woah, is this like for realzies? This looks good A F tbqhshmfam
>the mario car makes a mario sound when it jumps
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ILL TAKE 50 COPIES
BING BING WHAT A SAVE!
it hurt my eyes at first, but it seems better now. maybe i'm just getting used to it. doesn't matter though. it's comfy to play in bed, and easy to take with me when i travel laptops are for coding and shitposting, not vidya
docked mode is pretty decent.
Doesn't this game have like max 6 cars, 1 ball and a small, unchanging field? Why does it need adaptive res? What is it adapting to?
the switch's constantly declining processing power
no
ue3
lmgtfy
>rocket league with joy cons
Switch players gonna get fucking destroyed against cross platform players
Well, applying bilinear filtering to the stretched frame buffer would be a good start.
It's literally free on anything not called Ati rage 1 and would look better than this retrolikeshit.
...
Right looks objectively better and has much more soul and character to it. Left looks like CGI prerender trash.
I'm waiting for the digital foundry video.
Good one.
So RL runs on UE3, right? The Switch doesn't officially support UE3, only UE4. That might be the reason why it runs so poorly.
Same here.
to be fair a lot of bad players play this wonderful game, so switch friends can play against them.
Eh, even some first party games look kinda crappy in handheld mode.
>try to play modern game on sub 2013 Leapfrog tablet-tier mobile hardware
>be surprised when it looks, runs, and plays like chunky diarrhea
Only Nintenkiddos
>The fact that this is running on actual mobile hardware is incredible.
It's made in Unity you retard, it should run on a phone.
Odyssey is the one that has the most difference for me so far. It looks completely fine on TV and jaggy as hell in handheld mode.
It's UE3.
Then again, Infinity Blade ran on UE3.
Yeah that's what it seems like to me too, I wonder why it affects Odyssey more than others.
I bet you we'll get a homebrew thing that forces the system to run TV mode in Handheld.
>That 1.5 hour battery life
But honestly I'd take it, my off TV sessions are not usually long.
Horizontal resolution is halved in handheld mode
Digital Foundry has a video about it
Are the devs doing the port incompetent? It's fucking UE3, it can run on literal toasters.
>run TV mode in Handheld.
but the screen doesn't run TV resolution in many games
Switch does not officially support UE3.
It's more for Jaggies.
How so? I thought Tegra had no trouble with UE3?
Yeah, have fun burning your hands for the 1 and a half hours the console battery lasts
And even if you did, it's still gonna be a jaggy mess because the hardware is crap and increasing the clockspeed to close to its normal level doesn't fix that. Games are still jaggy, blurry, and graphically underwhelming.
Look, I get it. I get that you really really want the Switch to be a good piece of hardware worth the 300 bux you spent on it. But it's just not happening. Nintendo cheaped the fuck out hardcore and banks on loyal drones and diehards to keep them afloat. Sorry things couldn't have gone better for you after the WiiU crash and burn.
The switch is a system with pretty much a regular Geforce 920mx, but with faster system memory and FP16.
Well, at least it didn't cost me five hundred and ninety nine us dollars
You're a fucking faggot, dude.
how do you even play this in handheld mode with all the blur since seeing shit in the distance is crucial.
Why are you so bitter about something you don't even own?
>no rebuttal
>not even an attempt at an argument
bing bing wahoo? bing bing wahoo.
You know, this braindead fanboyism is a contributor to Nintendo's decline. You keep gobbling whatever they shit on your plate and tell them its great because it came from Nintendo's bowels and thus they never have any incentive or pressure to improve. You guys need to be more assertive and let them know when you're displeased, or when they've fucked up. Echochambers breed mediocrity and failure.
five hundred and ninety nine
That initial 599 machine could play every game flawlessly from 2 gens ago out of the box no firmware patches required, put the disc in and done, no console will ever do that again.
Ain't that a shame.
You get what you pay for.
>b-but sony
Every time. That game is like 6 years old so its not even relevant anymore
> game developed specifically for the switch runs better than two ported games that run on last gen multi platform engines.
No shit, user. The fact that idTech/UE3 runs on switch at all is crazy.
Odissey runs at 900p max with heavy dynamic scaling.
>You aren't on par with Nintendo's business strategy
>you must be a Sonnygger
I thought this shit was a mobile port no joke
oops meant to quote
Or maybe it's that the Switch is an improvement over everything the Wii U did wrong and you're assblasted that the underpowered hardware still manages to provide fun games.
gg ended a while ago, my dude.
Yeah... Unbelievable...
youtube.com
Which pixel is the car?
>Hey watch me play this offscreen from a distance with a huge overlay of metrics on top.
Why do people do this i'm pretty sure that thing can be hooked to a monitor.
is this doom switch?
You being butthurt the switch is a massive success will not stop me from enjoying 60fps rocket league with Xbox and pc crossplay
I play rocket league for the graphics.
This comment kills the anti-switchfags
Reminder that games with no AA look like shit in screenshots.
Look at this image or Mario. Now look at it running at 60fps.
Now look at the screenshots of Rocket League then go watch a video of it running on Switch
Replied
Are you really mad that I'm enjoying my plastic toy over your plastic toy?
i don't believe those are in-game screen shoots, too good to be true.
This.
If you seen some of the DBZ Xenoverse screenshots I've taken you'd say the game is the worst thing ever. But in motion it's fine. Handhelds have always been like this. They need AA
>it's a fags on Sup Forums don't understand how videogames work episode
It's a port done in probably about six months for a game on UE3 (Engine doesn't even have switch support)
For what it is it's pretty impressive
it's not
Anyone know how this thing performs in docked splitscreen?
guess what
even lower resolution
Really? Drop below 720p? That fucking sucks. I don't know if I'll be able to recommend this to my friends who live together while it's in this state. What a botched port
why does nintendo never improve their fucking hardware
