How do I install Uncut Wasteland? If I understand it right it says that downloading it with NMM it will only add scenery and not NPCs.

Download the "Uncut Wasteland plus NPCs" file from the Files folder, I guess?

Get Open Strip and Open Freeside. I don't if I can recommend some of the other Vegas uncut stuff because I've had some game breaking glitches with a few of it

Play on hardcore mode, its not too hard. If you want it to be slightly harder experience I'd grab Jsawyer

If you got it for consoles, you fucked up. I learned the hard way. I'm not sure how the PC version fares but turn off autosave and kill cam. Should help make the game run better/more smoother.

Do you need mods?

You at least need mods that help with patching bugs, fixing stutter issues, and preventing crashes. The game is incredibly unstable so you'll want that shit even if you're going entirely vanilla.

Some better textures, quality of life improvements like Fallout 4's loot style or the ability to sprint, and more fast travel markers (to avoid multiple loading screens when you just want to enter one area) really do help out though.

Nope, they're all sealed off in their own separate maps. You can't go back to Dead Money when it's over, though.

Why hasn't anyone remade Fallout 1 or 2 in New Vegas yet? I'd do it myself if I had the modding skills.

Dont max intelligence no matter what people tell you. DLC unlocks a level cap of 50, which is plenty to max out important skills.

Play with intelligence of 4 or 5 and use drugs to enhance it when necessary and use those special points somewhere else.

You'll only hit level 35 or 40 by the time you finish all the quests so it may be worthwhile to take higher INT anyways. Also, it ensures you can increase skills faster early game, and SPECIAL stats are pretty worthless anyways.

Drop charisma to 1
Increase luck to 8 or 9
Increase INT to ~7
STR to ~7
END to 9
AGL to something reasonable

I'm replaying NV again right now and I just love how useful and fun Obsidian made pickpocketing in this game. A guy ran up to me and told me about the special bottle caps, and claimed he wasn't collecting them anymore. So as he left I decided to take a look and he had 8 caps on him. Damn I love little details like that
