The ones that actually make you wonder if the things are real or not.

Nothing to be afraid, son. I promise you.
I'll never get the "scary little girl" trope. Just kick the little bitch in the face. Actually this applies to most horror things. And if you're armed? Psssh, they better take all that creepy standin' around somewhere else.
Forbidden Siren/Siren Bloodcurse series
Fatal Frame series
>"but I don't have children"
I guess it's more about the juxtaposition of something that's supposed to be sweet and nonthreatening being alien and unknown
>legitimately wondering if the monsters in a video game are real
i understand suspending disbelief while you play the game but really?
That post gave me a finger cut.
Fucking seriously. I hate this cliche. It's also stupid in movies when kids tell adults that they just talked to ghosts and the movie acts like that was some huge revelation - 2 SPOOPY 4 ME amirite
Source? Google has nothing
i dont play enough horror to really know whats good but i enjoyed the hell out of darkwood. its scary and stressful without relying on jumpscares. its sound design is top notch and its very immersive for being a top down game. It also has good gameplay different from the walk down the hallway or just survive the monster type of game
Call of cthulhu DCotE
The hotel escape was one of a greatest experiences in gaming ever.
Fallout: Furry edition AKA Endtown
How is that edge? The only person that should be afraid of being near a little girl right now is Roy Moore.
It's some furfag comic where everybody gets transformed into an animal by some airborne virus. IIRC some people managed to avoid getting transformed using hazmat suits and sealed filtered chambers, but when they are finally exposed to the air they rapidly mutate into digusting monsters.
Take that image to Sup Forums and they'll get you a name within minutes. They used to have daily threads about it.
> hurr durr you're just a kid, what're you gonna do?
This reminds me of a story I read on /k/ once. A guy went to the bathroom in a gas station on his way home. He heard some weird noises from outside the stall and when he opened the door he saw this person with a malformed mouth and a ton of teeth growing out of their face and they looked to be smeared with blood. He took out his CCW and shot the thing. Turns out it was some kid with a mental disorder and some kind of facial deformity whose family had let wander around and he had eaten his own shit, which looked like blood to the guy. He said he just barely got off in court even though the family tried to sue him into oblivion and he spends his nights drinking to forget the face.
That must've been one fucking hell of a blowjob
this is so bad it's funny
>love the idea of horror stuff because it usually has really cool lore
>have night terrors, so I get enough horror imagery as it is and don't want to subject myself to more if I don't have to
>just kick the flesh melting little girl ghost bro, what could go wrong?
The fuck is a night terror?
I think you're missing the point, son
you need +1 or silver weapons to harm them
Think sleep paralysis, except you can move. At least that's what it feels like. Everywhere on the internet describes it as a lifelike nightmare while you're still asleep, but I've literally never been able to distinguish the point where I wake up. It all feels real to me.
The last one I had, I woke up in bed and turned to my night stand to check the time. I heard a little girl's voice behind me say "Hello". I turned around, and there was a porcelain doll with half its face smashed in crawling onto my bed and reaching for me. Its face is only comparable to Shadow Teddy from Persona 4, pic related. I just remember throwing my pillow at it and running away as fast as I could.
Because I'm technically awake (I think), the memories of them don't fade like actual nightmares and I remember them as if they really happened. In the moment, it's impossible to distinguish nightmare from reality.
kek
He should have shoot the parents too...those are the true monsters
Holy fuck now I remember waking up from 4 consecutive nightmares each or real than the least. When I woke up for real I thought I'm still dreaming and waited on balcony till sunrise. It's trippy shit.
>He said he just barely got off in court
As much as I wish otherwise I don't buy this, I don't see a court letting someone who shot a deformed child go on the basis of "I thought it was a monster".
Doki Doki Literature Club
Thank god every morning you wake up that you don't have night terrors There are records of them so horrible that people have accidentally killed their entire families in their sleep because of them.
Your movie was shit Stephen King
If you can convince the court to sue the home owners for "breaking your back" even though you were trespassing with the intent of theft through their ceiling window, you can convince them to do anything
Fuck the legal system
Look in the mirror if you want to check dreaming you or not. I did it only a couple of times in dreams, but it always was some insane shit instead of my reflection.
Jesus. Mine aren't that bad.
I'm convinced one reoccurring one isn't a dream at all and is actually real, though.
...
I hope you're joking.
I hadn't told anyone about it, and I've had two separate people describe that they've seen it in my house in the middle of the day.
>do this once during a dream
>there are cauterized wounds in the place my eyes should be, kinda like that scene in Event Horizon
>Also have very cartoony eyes poorly drawn on my skin directly bellow the wounds
Very weird shit, wish I could lucid dream just to look at a mirror again and see new spooky things.
Tell us about it
It wasn't so easy my dude. It basically began when I "woke up" for the first time and realised quite fast something is not okay. To cut out the details I was basically tortured until I passed out in the dream and "woke up" only to realize I'm actually still dreaming and same thing repeated 3 more times with slight differences.
tl;dr Had a nightmare, realize it's a nightmare, CANTWAKEUP.bmp, 4 times same nightmare with slight variations.
Worst kind of shit when you can't just wake up.
why would the monster direct him towards the original and let itself get found out?
SCP Contentment Breach is the scariest game I've played.
Why not, do you think the monster isn't looking for anything other than just sleeping in a little girl's comfy bed for the night?
kek
Fuck OFF user I'M FUCKING SCARED RIGHT NOW I HAD TO GO TO THE LIVING ROOM.
Castlevania.
if you let your literally shiteating misshapen cripple offspring live instead of putting it down you're not doing anyone a favor, yeah
I love the word misshapen goddamn, thank you diablo 2
Opportunity.
>used to have night terrors
>some how learned to distinguish dreaming and waking
>every dream I have now is lucid or mostly lucid
I always know when I'm dreaming now and can remember my dreams.
I seriously want to know if this is true or if something similar has actually happened before
user, that sounds more like Schizophrenia than night terrors.
>Look in the mirror if you want to check dreaming
I'm and both mirrors and reading are normal to me in dreams.
I would spoiler all of this so it doesn't look like I'm attention whoring, but one big block of black would draw more attention than just text.
So, basically, when I still lived with my parents, I would have this reocurring night terror where this very tall woman, seven or eight feet tall, wearing a white night gown would stand in the corner of my room near the door and just watch me. She had long black hair covering her face, though (she basically looked like the girl from The Ring, just very tall), so she would just stand there, unmoving. I only had the sense that she was watching me because I couldn't see her face. I didn't feel threatened by her, though. Oddly enough, it felt like she was watching OVER me, or protecting me. I only felt warmth when I saw her and is still the only night "terror" that didn't send fear through every inch of my body.
Shit got weird when one day some time after noon when my brother came running and screaming up from the basement (where my room was) saying that he saw a tall woman with black hair wearing a white dress materialize from nothing and walk into my room by phasing through the door. That's when I started to think that maybe it wasn't a night terror and is why it didn't terrify me the same way the others did.
The next person who described it to me was actually my friend while I was at her place. She's a Wiccan (if you believe in that stuff), and she said that there was something following right behind me. I told her to stop trying to scare me, but then she described the woman perfectly, the extreme height and all. She even told me it felt protective of me, but that it felt imposing to her and everyone else.
I haven't seen it since, I still feel it sometimes. I feel like it stays by my side and protects me from evil spirits. It sounds silly, yeah, and I don't really have any defense against that.
What if those people are part of the night terror?
>those were your real eyes and now you see through fake eyes fake images
I hate mirror dreams, always have some freaky shit happen like my face being comically swollen because I sleep on it sometimes and it goes numb irl. Or teeth falling out
The world's a weird place.

>fights the monster in his daughter's bed

Sounds like that hentai with the spoopy ghost woman that molests men
Ride never ends
>"Shit, I don't even have a daugher"
>thus begins the story of user and his two ghost daughterus
I always get a dog of death nightmare.
When I was a kid I used to have a bunkbed and I was bottom bunk. And I'd have the same dream where there's only a slither of light from the hallway, and the room is cold and silent. I call out to my brother several times and he doesnt respond. No sound. No breathing.
Then slowly a dark figure descends from the top bunk, and slowly turns its head to me. The head of Anubis, it opens its mouth and bares its teeth, black and rotten and crawling with insects, some fly out of his mouth.
Then he would say to me in a booming dark growl: "It's time to die". And his cold laughter would swallow me hole.
Then I'd wake up in fear.
I had a jumpstart nightmare last night. A black dog lunged at me out of nowhere.
I actually like dogs funnily enough.
Is this fucking loss?
...
>defeats the "monster" on his bed
>picks daughter up from the closet
>the closet daughter was the monster, the one he killed was his real daughter
so it can gather its victims in close proximity to each other.
GHOST BLOWJOB
Nigga, you have a STAND!
Not sure if it's a night-terror, but sometimes I will wake up in the middle of night drenched in sweat, gasping and swallowing mouthfuls of air uncontrollably and my throat feels like it's being choked.
Daughterus, not daughterfus
that's just sleep paralysis. night terror is a dream.
Nah, it's just hypnogogic imagery. It's basically when your brain still hasn't fully come out of sleep mode so you'll start to perceive things like in a dream. It goes away after a few seconds or minutes when your brain finally comes into awake mode. People who have experience with lucid dreaming can even make it a pleasant experience. Remember there's more to these events than just the simple sleep paralysis. There's a lot more phenomena regarding these states. Go look up exploding head syndrome and you'll see why.
Why am i sleeping with my feet towards a wall that's like half a meter away from my head?
Then why can his brother see it? Retard.
>gasping and swallowing mouthfuls of air uncontrollably and my throat feels like it's being choked.
you're being raped by a ghost and swallowing ectoplasmic semen
...
I hope he doesn't have an STD at least.
Dying Light
Oddly (and embarrassingly) enough, I've considered this. I can't control it, though. I've named it Black Magic Woman.
Though, it responds to a different name, although I really don't know how to feel about the name it responds to.
...
What's the name user?
>he doesn't sleep the patrician way
This picture is shit at representing the real horror of the situation by showing that the girl in the bed is infact the monster. Imagine if you couldn't tell which one it is. The dearest thing in your world and an unknown threat and you can't distinct between either. That is a fucking shit situation. Black tear girl will simply rip you to shred or you baseball bat her ass back to oblivion but there is no nuance in that.
John Cena
are you talking about Hachishaku Hachiwa Keraku Meguri: Igyou Kaikitan?
that's what I was thinking of.
>loss_in_the_night.jpg
you need to name her 「Black Magic Woman」
Question not the will of spirits.Count your blessing its benevolent
Spooky
>tfw keep getting the same night terror over and over

>be american
