Friendly reminder that Pokemon is going to save the Switch.
Friendly reminder that Pokemon is going to save the Switch
it doesn't need saving
since when the fuck did this thing need saving?
Cool but where's Animal Crossing?
It's with EA now, so expect loot boxes for new mons and poke balls.
It needed saving?
>released their big games already (no more new game for a few years)
>third party support (cant handle third party support)
> Having faith in GameFreak anymore
Hopefully sometime in 2018, Pokemon won't come out until 2019 unless they reuse assets which I heard might be the case.
Your a fucking moron.
on your phone where it belong
did i hit a nerve?
The inevitable Switch + Pokémon bundle will be the No.1 selling electronic product for Christmas 2018. Especially if they do a custom design for the console
>Pokemon
>unless they reuse assets
pokemon always reuse assets you cunt
It's the opposite actually. The Switch is going to save Pokemon.
Is it going to be one straight route with more cutscenes and a skip battle option?
yes but now its on hd hence its better
no, but you clearly hit your head as a child
They always reuse assets you retard.
You still can find shit from Gen 3 on S/M files, plus, they already made the models on X/Y and that crap is horrible hi poly that makes the 3ds lag like a bitch.
Is it going to be an actual fucking RPG this time?
Legitimately never knew, thats probably why Pokemon gets shit for being the same as the previous installments.
If they made a game with all new assets, would you think it'd be a better Pokemon game?
sure, because all the pokemon models are reused from the previous gen
I just hope they go back to 2D visuals. I hate this 3D shit
Sonybros still SEETHING over Nintendos 3rd gen winning wni the the gen in a row
They reuse the item system well as the index numbers for compatibility sake.
X/Y had pretty much everything done from scratch in terms of overworld and battle system.
>Your a fucking moron.
>Your
the irony.
Probably the joke, user
No shit, do you really think that they going redo 900+ pokemon models every game?
For switch they just need a new texture and they are going be good as new.
the assets from sun mon, are hd models so expect them on switch game with a more complex animation of course.
They deliberately made the Pokemon models too high-quality for the 3DS to handle so that they could re-use them down the line. You're gonna see asset re-use at least until 4k becomes standard.
>No shit, do you really think that they going redo 900+ pokemon models every game?
yes they do, when it was sprites. they do the 3d models for the xy gen and the hd models for sunmon
>For switch they just need a new texture and they are going be good as new.
no they dont just look for the sunmon models they scale nice on 4k resolution.
He's not exactly wrong. This year, we've gotten Zelda, Mario, Splatoon 2, ARMS and we're getting Xenoblade soon too. Which is really good, but doesn't paint a good picture for the next year or so.
Assuming the next Zelda doesn't reuse BotW's engine, we'd be lucky to get the next Zelda before the end of the Switch's lifetime.
3D Mario team just released Odyssey, we're not seeing anything from them any time soon. The
Splatoon team are still supporting 2 and are presumably working on 3. The Splatoon development team is also comprised of Animal Crossing's core developers so I don't see AC making much of an appearance on the Switch any time soon.
Mario Kart/ARMS team are still supporting ARMS.
Now that Xenoblade 2 is finally releasing, Monolith have blew their load too.
What do we have to look forward to? I guarantee Prime 4 isn't going to be released for another 2+ years. There's Kirby/Yoshi, but the reactions to those games have been generally lukewarm. Unless I'm being a retard and forgetting something, Nintendo doesn't really have any heavy-hitters on the horizon, which leaves us in the not-so-capable hands of Game Freak.
You bet your ass that those XY models were reused in either ORAS, SM and now in USUM, unless they are new Pokemon.
They made it as future proof as possible so that in future games they wouldn't need to redo every single pokemon time and time again. Only competent decision GF made in the past 4 years.
nonononononononono
>Friendly reminder that Pokemon is going to save the Switch.
LMAO
Pokemon on 3DS sells roughly 15m, has 60m+ install base, the game costs $40, the console costs $100-$200 and almost no production cost since its mostly reused assets.
Pokemon Switch will sell less than 4m since it has 9m- install base, the game will cost $60, the console costs $300 and it will hardly make any profit since the production cost will be high since they have to make all the assets from scratch.
I can't believe the Switch is fucking dead.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>2019
You know damn well they're going to rush it as soon as possible to increase system sales since Pokemon is still one of Nintendo's biggest cash cows. There's already evidence of it releasing next year, which is Nintendo's plan anyway.
Just forgot about Retro, fuck knows what they've been doing for three years. So there's that too, at least.
Nintendo took less than a year to reveal Odyssey, ARMS and Splatoon 2 and release those titles. I am very confident that they have some stuff ready to release for next year, like Pikmin 4 and Donkey Kong that have been hinted for years (DK was meant to be showcased at E3 2015, for fucks sake)
Reminder that it's gonna be rushed for 2018 despite Gamefreak being the laziest devs in history.
Expect XY, ORAS, and USUM levels of lackluster
By the time Pokemon Switch releases there may well be a 20m install base, or something close to it.
And we already know that they are being lazy and reusing the assets from the 3DS, so they're gonna keep costs low, as they always do.
I remember arguing with WiiU plebs that said it was good that there were no games out because that meant there was a lot to look forwardto.
You're right that the Switch's best days might already be behind it.
I hope not because I'm getting one for the kids.
Doesn't even matter, it'll sell bucketloads, as it always does.
ORA?
I didn't deny that
Yeah, from the direction they're going I can see it now
>Not even 720p
>FPS problems everywhere
>Option for the game to walk you everywhere
>All trainers have one Pokemon, battles are optional but if you select to skip them you still get exp
>Shiny rate is 1/100
>Everyone's Pokemon but yours is underleveled
>Game is unfinished
>Main story over in 10 hours, no post game
There are plenty of IPs that haven't had an installment, they're likely to reuse BOTW''s engine for a new game, and with the sales, it should get some decent third party exclusives.
It could all go horribly wrong of course but I feel confident that the best is yet to come.
Ark: Survival Evolved will save the Switch
No one gives a shit about that.
The only strong titles that Nintendo has are Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda and Pokemon.
They already released Mario, Mario Kart and Zelda.
All that is left is Metriod, Yoshi, Kirby and Donkey Knog and they arent that popular to begin with.
You can expect another Zelda and another Mario nearing the end of the console life and maybe an extra Zelda release that would be shared with the "Switch 2" but thats about it for the Switch library.
>implying the Switch will keep selling once the 16m retards that bought the WiiU get theirs.
Also, even if its at 20m, it is still 1/3rd the install base of the 3DS, with higher console price and game price.
Sadly. That's also the main reason why they won't even bother moving the series forward, they don't have to, after all, drones and children will keep buying those lacking games. It's time for us to let it go
Kimishima said mobile games are meant to attract people to the Switch so I think Animal Crossing is likely.
You also forgot Fire Emblem and a 2D Mario is possible
>240p 15 fps
yeah good luck
>muh memory :(
>already a Switch emulator in the works
cant wait to enjoy pokemon at a non potato resolution
A Switch emulator will take a few years to complete and anything played on it will be a broken mess.
It took CEMU 4 years.
And a lot of games on CEMU are broken garbage for people who are happy playing 80% of the game with glitches and saying they "beat it"
>It took CEMU 4 years.
Initial release: October 13, 2015; 2 years ago
>take a few years to complete
I mean I say I cant wait but im not actually in a hurry
>he hasn't seen the official Nintendo SD cards
Pokémon for 2018 and maybe a new non-NSMB spin on 2D Mario for 2019
A lot of sprites were reused from Gen 2 you fucktard.
And the post above you prove you wrong.
fast memory vs slow memory
5 gigs per save file? Something must be wrong with that switch. My saves aren't even close to 300 MB but maybe I just suck at videogames.
>It's okay because the Vita did it worse!
The state of Nintendofags
>CURRENT YEAR
>people still playing pokeshit
How can you keep doing this? They barely change anything between entries. In fact they only make it progressively worse.
>spends his time shitposting about the Sony boogeyman at 1am yuro time
Don't you have a job or gf, toddler?
>switch needs saving
It is already selling gangbusters and has great games.
this desu
They really do, I almost immediately put down Moon because it was so bad. I only bought it for the meme Mons, anyway
Can't wait for the further butthurt when it happens.
It's been everflowing salt since Odyssey and BotW came out. Now Xenoblade 2 coming out too? Nintendo can't stop winning and there is no competition that can stop them.
>Pokemon Switch will sell less than 4m since it has 9m- install base
>As of September 30th, Breath of the Wild has sold 4.7 million on a console with a 7.6 million install base. The most a Zelda game has ever sold on a single platform was 7.6 million for Ocarina of N64.
>Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is already at 4.4 million even though it's a port of a game that came out more than 3 years ago
You're a dumbass just making shit assumptions
>nintendo fan
>european
funny joke
Smash Bros. 2D Mario, Animal Crossing, Lugi game plus all the games you listed. That's a pretty healthy list of exclusive titles from Nintendo alone. I agree even those alone aren't enough to make the Switch a God tier console and 3rd party support will be important, and I mean beyond ports.
And it wasn't useable at all. They developed it for years.
CEMU just barely became playable for BotW and a few other games this summer.
Zelda was a launch title faggot and mario kart came soon after, you cant compare it with anything since every moron that bought the console the first 4 months was forces to either buy zelda & mario kart, use the joycons as dildos or both.
>Implying gamefreak, one of the stingiest fucking developers in the industry, would make a game that requires a big budget that 4 million sales would hardly be profitable
>Implying a mainline Pokemon game would sell anywhere near 4 million, especially with how successful the Switch has been
How much do you think it costs to make somr simple fucking character models for Pokemon?
no competition except adulthood
>they
>I initiated the project about 2 years ago, but counting away all the weeks inbetween where nothing happend the effective development time is about 6 months. Right now, I am the only developer on the project, although I had help in the past from two friends. There are plans to recruit more long-term members in the future
It was literally just one faggot that developed the base for the emu in 6 months of work and now, 2 years later its already working.
All that for a shitty console no one cared about.
I´d reckon a team of devs working on a popular console would have a swtich emu running in less than 18 months.
Granted, the MicroSD has about six years of technological improvement on the Vita cards. Plus, even as a Switch owner, I'll admit that the default amount of memory is absolutely atrocious, and I shouldn't have to spend an extra hundred bucks to still not even have as much memory as the PS3 did at launch. It's especially bad since the Switch is a portable system, and most people would rather have multiple games downloaded on it rather than have to carry tiny, easily-lost game cards around with it.
try looking at the currency, retard
>How much do you think it costs to make somr simple fucking character models for Pokemon?
There are over 800 of them on top of that you need to add a new engine, new overwolrd assets, character models, etc, etc, etc
This is just incoherent rambling from a triggered autist. Admit you got BTFO
>save the best console on the market
>the only one pc master race people will ever buy
Pokemon needs saving from it self with Gen 6 and 7 being shit.
>>Implying a mainline Pokemon game would sell anywhere near 4 million, especially with how successful the Switch has been
3DS games sold to 1/4th the install base @ $40.
What makes you think that Switch games will sell to more than to 1/4th the install base @ $60?
Believe it or not there are actually a surprising amount of people who mistakenly own a PC and either an xbox1 or PS4. The day one buyers of those multiplat boxes got literally ass raped by the tech giants that never developed more than one worthwhile game for their box in 4 entire years. Remember "GREATNESS AWAITS"? Still waiting, unless GREATNESS is Everybody's Golf
>I'm just going to ignore the fact that every new generation Pokemon game has consistently sold at least 15 million because muh launch games
>Americans are retards who will buy literal shit if it had the right brand put on it
>in other news, water is still wet
>Pokemon
>Fire Emblem
>Smash Bros
You missed all 3. The first two are confirmed and you can bet your ass Smash is coming.
Don't underestimate Pokemon, Nintendo can probably easily coast off just that til Metroid is ready.
/thread
>Pokemon Switch
>Flying pokemon models are still floating instead of standing on the ground
Mark my fucking words
So they'll just be on the same level as any competent developer. Doesn't mean it's going to have a massive fucking budget. Breath of the Wild required 2 million sales to profit.
Oh man I hope so. Gamefreak has no excuses to fuck up.
You could get a 3DS + X/Y for $180 the day it was released, following current NSwitch prices if you want do the same for the Switch you will have to pay $360 the day it gets released.
If you dont see how having the console+game cost double the ammount would result in less overall sales then you are retarded.
But Gamefreak is not a competent developer.
>Assuming the next Zelda doesn't reuse BotW's engine
They already confirmed that it would.
It wouldn't make a difference, the only assets that need to be redone are the non pokemon ones.
another sub 30fps zelda yay
