Vast expansive character customization, from the charactor creator to an expansive large skill tree, but at the same time having to focus on a certain class or playstyle instead of being the macho lvl 999 at everything. Some souls like pvp would be nice, coop too but not unnecessarily specific like darksouls or creed unity, I wanna be able to play the campaign with friend(s)

Never played Gothic myself. I know it has those things (aside from maybe good gameplay, not sure), but those games seem rough around the edges in terms of gameplay from what I've seen.

Proper RPG with thoroughly customizable character, plenty of skill and item use to solve quests, slick neon-chrome aesthetic, hot chicks, and an updated version of the pen and paper game because I liked it back in 1990 but it's real old now.

They're still unsatisfying features.

A form of GPS or minimap is probably going to be necessary if the game takes place in a huge city.

The only unsatisfying part about GPS is that most devs use it as an excuse for characters to "mark it on your map" at best, or psychically tell your character the exact location at worst.

They could still write it the old fashioned way where they actually tell you the location and how to get there, so you still develop that feeling of knowing the city, but they typically don't.

Just having the GPS is enough to fuck with the feeling of exploration, in GTA IV for example I don't remember anything about the city because I was being dragged around by the nose with the GPS always showing me the correct path I needed to take.

Before GPS existed people just got lost everywhere.
Small communities formed around grocery stores, people were never able to go to work so they just randomly entered a building and hoped they were qualified to do their work.
Also the heads of state were randomly chosen every day depending on the first person to enter the office.
Truly the pre-GPS era was pure chaos.

I always looked at the map and found the route with the fewest amount of turns and took that route instead. The GPS always wants to take you on this zigzaggy bullshit line and in city areas that means you're never on the same stretch road long enough to go fast. The GPS isn't dragging you around, you're literally doing it to yourself.

I'd usually just take my own route with the GPS as an ultimate guide for the final stretch or fine tuning.
