Who else /sucks at fightan games/ here?
Who else /sucks at fightan games/ here?
fighting games are fucking stupid. you have to memorize so much tedious bullshit just to play at a decent level.
All it takes is practice.
I don't play any competitive games, but I've been practicing a lot on budokai 3 and I still play some tekken when the bros are over. Just look up combos, cancels, and all that shit and just grind it out until you git gud. Takes a while though if you're a brainlet
I suck at them but that's because I never play online. I still love playing them regardless though.
martial arts are overrated
>IzzZZz TOOOOoo TuFf For ME MAke IT EaSY foR mE
spend an evening in training mode nigga
Used to but then I got good. I'm sure y'all can do it too if you try.
Not me. I'm good at them since I'm not a brainlet.
I don't play fighting games because I have no friends
What are some good games to play with no skill baddies, so far we like doa lethal league and stick fight
Divekick
I haven't played a fighting game since Tekken 3. I've been thinking about picking one up lately but I'm not sure which one to get into, definitely not DoA because I'd spend time fapping instead of playing it.
I just play them for the waifus
Depends on what you're looking for. That said, if you played Tekken 3, you might like Tekken 7. It's has faults, but the gameplay is worth it.
he didnt say make it easy
he just said he didnt like them
need to go back to reading comprehension class?
Why don't you just sell your soul for the skills to not suck at fighting games so that you can actually enjoy them while you're still alive?
Nyanko is ____
Get Tekken 7 like the other user said. If your main is still there then not much has changed.
most of this board is terrible at fighting games, which makes sense since they lack the mental capacity to sit down and practice.
I do enjoy them against bots

soyboy - the thread
I've been trying to get better but GG is too hard even though I play babby's first character.
What is a soyboy?
>25f active normal
wew
Everyone has to say the suck because there is always someone better. I suck for more than that reason but I personally don't think I'm bad at all from a normie perspective. That said, I can pull off almost all difficult combos but I don't exactly put in the distinct button combination to return a hit or open up or anything really. I memorize the move list, some combos that I like, and basically just go with gut instinct while throwing in what I do know how to do specifically when I see the opportunity.
I suck at all games. Thank the lord for single player RPGs
What exactly do people find hard about GG? I picked it up as my first fighting game ever and I'm able to compete relatively well in most lobbies. Just practice and learn your combos n mixups, not that hard.
1. focus on improving little things, take baby steps.
2. caring about whether or not you suck is caring about your perception to others of your skill. the truth is nothing matters and everyone is trash at every game.
>tfw you picked up GG while in Middle School
>autism: the post
>playing your fightfu no matter how hard you suck
feels good
>lmao just practice bro just b urself bro lol
Easy to say when you're not a brainlet.
Thanks guys I think I'll pick it up at some point soon, my main used to be Hwoarang, fought against my brother a lot who always picked King. I think I'll have to start fighting him on it again like old times.
What he is saying is right though. That's how I got better.
Nigger characters like Jack-O are literally designed for people who don't play fighting games.
I randomly bought XX on PS2 when it came out because I heard the music was cool. I liked the characters and stuff but I didn't actually git good at fighting games until much later.
What about Elphelt
Not that user, but most people begin with SF. Moving onto other fighting games from that point can be difficult if they're nothing alike. A friend challenged me to GG since he knows I play it and I stomped his ass since he kept trying to play it like SF (not utilizing air dashing, trying to "zone" me out with Sol's gunflame, never using YRC, etc.) He even has trouble with the fact that it's not a 6-button fighter.
It's such a fucking waste of time, especially when these games are never properly balanced for pvp anyway.
You'd be better off just playing for fun instead of autistically obsessing over "muh comboos"
No one obsesses over combos. There's more to fighters than that and getting better is part of the fun for most people.
laifu
>memorizing cheap tricks and matchups like you'r going to take a fucking quiz
>fun
Thank god i main King.
She's pretty easy, only thing that is really mechanically difficult is Ms.Travailler wallstick strings.
Your best bet is to just stop replying to him at this point. It's not worth the headache.
Takes too long to gitgud at a fighting games, you're looking at 60+hrs and the moment you stop for any set duration, all of that skill goes away. Fighting games have a high skill ceiling, low skill return and are possibly the only type of video game that the older you get, the more you suck at.
I know.
Yeah that's what I'm having problems with and it kind of sucks because that's what makes her good.
I want to suck his dick and plow his ass
I always wanted to try out KoF but XIV is dead and the OG ones aren't worth learning when there's absolutely no nearby scene
I'm average at them. I can beat some people but I can't beat people who have lots of combos and stuff memorized. I suck sometimes but I have fun.
It would probably help if I played characters that were actually viable for a lot of match ups or something.
I'm an amateur at best. I only got into fighting games 4-5 years ago of actively trying to learn stuff instead of just mashing.
I love these games and I want to be good, at least best out of my local group and put up a decent match online. But right now I haven't been feeling like playing till DBFZ releases. SFV burned me during (and after) Season 1, Season 2 was lack luster for me personally, but if the leaks of Season 3 are correct I might give it another chance. Hopefully it'll be fun that time around. I really really hope so.[/spolier]
I'm part of the "not interested in fighting games because I am a civilized white person" crowd
>win
>doesn't feel very satisfying
>lose
>feel like trash
It's not fair.
When I tried rising thunder when it beta tested. I went like 50-0. In any other fighting game I go like 20-100. It's clear I know what to do and when to do it. I just don't have the muscle memory to do it accurately.
you are too much of a dumb bitch to learn how to play anyway
Say something nice about this fighter
No reason to learn to because all my vidya friends can't play fighting games either.
>inb4 make new friends
I'm not going to lans because lans are for smelly neets and niggers
She has nice hips.
Lies
>Curb stomp someone feel bad
>Get curb stomped, feel bad
The only winning move, is not to play.
>typical mudblood lashes out in anger the second something they don't like happens
and this is why you play fighting games and I don't; you're little more than a barbaric chimp who acts on instinct.
She doesn't?
>The only winning move, is not to play.
That's why I've avoided all competitive games and I'm just bored out of my mind. I know I'm just a wuss who can't handle competition.
Not him but you just sound angry that you can't get better and just claim that anybody that took the time to get better are autistic. Stop being such a bitch user
>Spend hours upon hours just to learn a single character
uhhh...no thanks. video games are meant to be fun not some autistic stick twirling just to be able to do a combo that took weeks to learn.
...
Bruh, this is easy as fuck.
I am, but I have fun. I want to try getting into KoF, seeing as I've always ignored it because I'm not fond of having teams in fighting games. Do people still play XIII? I'd rather try that to XIV because it looks better, but I imagine the only people who still play 98 or 2002 are really good at them.
I suck at every game. It takes me at least 2 years to even reach an average level of skill in anything.
>tfw love fighting games of all kinds yet suck at them
>tfw do better at unconventional fighters like Gundam Versus than normal 2D or 3D fighters
Hardly anyone is a dedicated martial artist these days anyway, so I would they're underrated.
Me. I want to be good but I just can't really grasp doing combos and chains. I should really practice more.
>want to get gud at anime/doujin fighting games
>usually requires more skills do to constant combos and other shit
almost as much as Capcom sucks at making them.
Agree, still mad fun. The strive to one day becoming good enough to the point where the game is actually enjoyable keeps me going.
I lose interest as soon as I have to treat playing like work. At that point I would rather do actual work like programming or laundry. I've seen people compare it to practicing an instrument, and while it is similar, practicing the instrument is much more engaging in of itself. You need to be actually playing the game -- the part where there's actually a winner and loser -- to have much fun. Waggling a joystick for the sake of waggling it isn't much fun at all.
The top Korean Tekken players are in their 30's or approaching btw
>tekken
lol
here
I still love them though
I, somehow managed to misread
Brawhalla
Literally the hardest fighting game you silly capcbro.
>tekken
>hard
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>Fight someone
>they add you after saying "hard to find good Valkenhayn players, I need to play you more"
it's a good feeling
Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, MvC and MK have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!
If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.
I'd learn more if they were more fun.
>inb4 people call me a shitter losing every match
What game is she from anyway?
...
Arcana Hearts.
>tfw someone friended me in UMvC3 after we went back and forth on wins
Arcana Hearts, a anime fighter I haven't played.
Capcbros are beyond saving.
Play 98 or 02 on fightcade
I wish I just had some friend who was interested in the same fighting games I am and want to learn at my skill level too. Only friend who is interested in fighting games is interested only in like MvC and Street Fite.
I was okay but couldn't do drag's f3 cancell in a combo. My win rate was around 50%
t. delusional tekkuck
>Do people still play XIII?
Theres a discord you can probably find games in there
Go back
I'm more of /mash random buttons in fighting games/ guy. I never understood how the hell people are good in those games. I can't even handle combos in training mode, not to mention applying them against even easy mode AI.
