I picked up Sanctuary RPG for 79 cents. That was absolutely worth it and ACSII rpg's were slightly before my time.
Reposting.
Went through my Steam library and pulled a few games that people might've missed. I'm not checking if they're on sale, but they probably are.
>Puzzle game, rotate a box and try to figure out how to get inside
store.steampowered.com/app/288160/The_Room/
>Mini golf multiplayer + workshop support coming according to the devs. Apparently this is already popular, I only just found out about it a week ago
store.steampowered.com/app/431240/Golf_With_Your_Friends/
>Excellent sidescroll stealth game from the makers of Shank. You can be a ghost or go on a killing spree. Terrifying guards is a mechanic. You can also speedrun it, was at AGDQ
store.steampowered.com
>very fun multiplayer game, you're invisible and you have to watch your opponent's screen to figure out where they are. Maps are well designed so you can immediately pinpoint where they are once you learn the maps. Some of the weapons aren't that good but it's great fun
store.steampowered.com/app/301970/Screencheat/
>rogue-like exploration game, the goal is to get as much gold as possible and try not to die from everything that's trying to kill you
store.steampowered.com
>decent action platformer game
store.steampowered.com
>pretty decent budget Fatal Frame clone
store.steampowered.com
>nice platformer
store.steampowered.com
>adventure platformer
store.steampowered.com
>great puzzle game that relies on you coming up with clever ways to solve puzzles with a handful of clones. short game though.
store.steampowered.com
>good Lemmings clone, about 15-20 hours long and has a level editor. Also has pretty amusing writing.
store.steampowered.com
>fantasy Advance Wars
store.steampowered.com
cont
Anything good for two bucks?
FIGHT'N'RAGE
store.steampowered.com
Excellent 2D beat'em all. Seriously the best one you could get on Steam imo.
Everything is the same every year now and so there are no hidden gems anymore.
>nice little bullet hell
store.steampowered.com
>fun little procedurally-generated RPG
store.steampowered.com
>solid SHMUP
store.steampowered.com
>The Sims x Evil Genius where you control ghosts trying to spook people
store.steampowered.com
>fast action boss rush with a nice OST
store.steampowered.com
>fast competitive grapple-hook platformer where you try to screw over other people with attacks so they hit a giant wall of doom closing in. Workshop support.
store.steampowered.com
>Commandos-inspired tactical strategy set in Japan, this genre was pretty much dead before this game came out so I'm personally excited for it. $20
store.steampowered.com
>Wipeout clone with mod support. This actually used to be free up until recently, so if you don't already own this and you're interested in the genre it's your fault for not having it already. Still only $5 otherwise.
store.steampowered.com
>EDF 4.1, $30, play as one of four classes and blow up giant insects with a variety of weapons/vehicles. Can be demanding if you're on a toaster. Online is still active.
store.steampowered.com
>Marlow Briggs, God of War clone with voodoo theme. You play as a black dude trying to get his girlfriend back from Evil Chinese Wizard. It's $5 but it's usually on sale for $1
store.steampowered.com
Endless Space 2
Oneshot
store.steampowered.com
>fun but hard JP physics-based platformer series that got ported to PC recently
store.steampowered.com
>recent fantastic entry into an otherwise dead genre. Commandos/Desperados in medieval Japan. The devs are working on another stealth game
store.steampowered.com/app/418240/Shadow_Tactics_Blades_of_the_Shogun/
>play as a space janitor cleaning up after massacres. Good game to relax with a podcast/audiobook, also good for fucking around with your friends in. A million workshop maps.
store.steampowered.com/app/246900/Viscera_Cleanup_Detail/
>parkour game, go fast. The sequel is an expanded remake, but the original has Workshop support (Super doesn't have it yet)
store.steampowered.com/app/262390/Cloudbuilt/
>puzzle series, you rotate a box and try to solve the puzzle. the sequels expand it even further with managing multiple puzzles that link up in a room

This isn't a traditional puzzle, but if you like The Lemmings then you need to get this.
store.steampowered.com
As for recs in general for this thread:
It's a side scroller beat'em up combined either the mechanics of a fighting game. Feels so satisfying performing combos on large groups of enemies.
youtu.be
I'm at my budget for this sale, but wishlisted.
Oniken is garbage. Not a thing about it is fresh or exciting.
What if you're new to the genre? Is it bullshit hard like Ninja Gaiden?
>Puzzle game where you play as a time traveling boar. Pretty unique soundtrack too.
What's not to like?
store.steampowered.com
Its genre is knock-off action platformer. There are hundreds of better ones. You'll get more enjoyment out of swinging the sword and jumping off walls in the first 30 seconds of NG.
Get Shovel Knight if you want something to start with.
store.steampowered.com
Dungeons 'n shiet.
How is vaporum?
store.steampowered.com
not on sale, but still a hidden gem. only $12 and you get like 12-15 hours out of it.
store.steampowered.com
>store.steampowered.com
Shmup+Roguelike
I recommend getting Rabi Ribi
>Amazing spell casting system with unique runes, cooking methods and inventory management
store.steampowered.com
store.steampowered.com
Horror shootan in colonization period, plays kinda like stalker. Some patched-in accessibility options ruin it imo, don't remember what they were though.
store.steampowered.com
Mouse driven combat game, plays like nothing else. Great sense of weight and accomplishment from scoring hits. Old and buggy though.
>Marlow Briggs
man that takes me back, fun FotM
speaks volumes that three years ago it cost a dollar during sales and now it costs 5
What are the specs on your machine? I recall playing the Shadow Tactics demo last year but coming across performance issues. Do you know if they were updated? Did you encounter any?
store.steampowered.com/app/416680/Zombie_Night_Terror/
Lemmings but with zombies, definitely worth the $3 if you're into the series. Gets pretty hard, too. Has a level editor + free DLC campaign. 5 campaigns, about 8 missions each. I got 17 hours out of it.
Sonic Mania
I didn't encounter any issues. I don't know if they updated because I haven't played it since it came out. It's a great game but I don't think this genre is one that you replay often. The demo might've been updated, so you can check again if you so desire. See if they have any update logs and read them.
There's always new releases to be had user. Also a lot of shit to sift through for your benefit
but its not even on sale
store.steampowered.com
Aw shit guy, ubisoft actually dropped the price on this for once.
Looks fun, I'll grab it for Christmas.
>Turbo
You have a weird definition of "adventure"
Oniken
Skydrift
Stardust Vanguards
MDK from gog if it's still free.
>Gesture based Magic System
Someone better mod this shit to VR pronto.
I haven't checked steam in ages. Do they still do a Xmas sale or is this now the main winter sale?
>do they still want money
Yes.
Redpill me, is Elite Dangerous worthwhile for dicking around in or should I just get Everspace?
That's just a copypasta I took from the last thread. I think these threads are good enough to warrant a good chart or something, I pick up something every time there's a sale. However a list of URLs is more convenient.
Don't let your dreams be dreams user.
They're sort of completely different games
What do you guys think about Victoria II ? I have never played a game like this (except Napoleon: Total War which i dropped pretty early). I got interested in such games due to a streamer playing EU4, but i heard that's useless without DLC's
>Paradox games
Buy the game, pirate the DLC
>pirate the DLC
problem is, im not that experienced at pirating games so I have no idea where to pirate it from how safe it is
I second this. You can own and run a bar
I want to like this game, but the mandatory downtime triggers my autism. They should have never tried to add in roguelike mechanics.
Anyone ever look at this? It uses a popularity algorithm based on reviews to find games that might be hidden gems.
I actually refunded this because I wanted a deeper experience but this is a damn good game. If you want an arcade twinstick shooter that's much more fast-paced, to-the-point, with a killer aesthetic and soundtrack, this is a good pick for you.
Wasn't for me because I need a bit more story/writing in a game but I have a feeling Sup Forums loves it.
if you have no experience from playing paradox games then i'd suggest playing either EU4 or CK2 first
EU4 if you're into the RISK "paint the map your color" kinda thing
CK2 if you're more into the politics, drama, dynasty stuff. think game of thrones with the focus of the well being of your dynasty rather than playing the nation as a whole
/gsg/ on /vg/ should have the relevant download links in the OP
I'm not sure if this one's still counted as a hidden gem but i'll post it
>hardcore stealth game where you play as a goblin and need to sneak past guards and get to your objective. you can finish the game without killing anyone or you can go ahead and try to murder everyone you come across. the hardest difficulty makes guards kill you the moment they put their hands on you.
store.steampowered.com
Don't consider playing the sequel btw, it's shit and it fucked up the game really hard by making the main character, Styx, into some annoying prick that keeps throwing out meme speeches and modern slurs every few minutes.
Example.
>objective is to steal the contents inside a small chest
>get there, open the chest, steal it's contents
>''haha, now that's what i'd consider a GREAT booty call ;))''
pure cringe
get Odallus instead
Odallus is the fucking best
>Nioh isn't on sale.
The jews were responsible for this.
thanks
Why EU4 and not victoria II? it's half the price rn
holy shit this looks amazing. did you finish it? how long did it take?
>soulscrap
good riddance
EU4 and CK2 are both pretty easy to get into so they're better for newcomers to the genre/Paradox games in general
Oh i see. So the links in /gsg/ are bound to solve the DLC problems with any of these two games?
store.steampowered.com
for the ambiance alone. the typing factor is extra comfy
Miasmata is a truly hidden gem that I played several years ago.
store.steampowered.com
It's quite simple, but builds a great atmosphere and if you love exploring or hiking, then this is the game for you.
It has a cartography system that I wish every open world game would use.
It is pretty much just a walking simulator, though, but you can die.
for me, it took around 16 hours to complete the first time i played it, but that's only because i took my time navigating around and trying to find collectible items. the game can easily be beaten in around 8 hours if you try to play it for quick completion
basically yea, but as a beginner just don't think about the DLC too much, cuz you really won't notice it until you poured around 200-300 hours on the game.
if anything playing the base game first without any DLC makes it easier to learn because you have less mechanics to worry about, and trust me learning these games takes around 10 hours of gameplay (depends on the person playing tho, and their patience)
>store.steampowered.com
I picked this up for about the same price a few Christmases ago. Pretty fun DMC-like. It's short and sweet but worth 3 quid. Hard as balls on the hardest difficulty too.
Thanks for the recommendation user. I'll check it out
Any decent metroidvanias that you guys recommend? Just got into this genre and wondering why I never got into it sooner.
at least 10 hours is what it took for me to understand the basics of EU4 enough to enjoy playing it, and i just got this game a few days ago
Got it. Thanks a lot user! will probably buy EU4 and not worry about the DLC unless I get something else. Jeez this thread is filled with gems
Axiom Verge is the obvious answer. It's really good, though maybe not the 10/10 some publications made it out to be.
Cave Story+ if you want it to be fast and a bit quirky.
La-Mulana if you want to burry yourself in notes and love a game you will probably never finish.
I have Stardew Valley and Wasteland 2, I wouldn't mind doing those for $10 in a steam digital wallet code.
no problem. also install the Extended Timeline mod in the workshop, it basically makes your game endless and lets you start from 2 BCE to infinity, it also includes several starting points in based on historical events, plus you can play in present day with Trump or Kim Jong Un so yea, endless replayability
Hollow Knight and Ori and the Blind Forest are pretty fucking good.
Are there lewd mod
and the mod gets constant updates I suppose? awesome
That game looks amazing
Thanks anons, I'll give these a try.
of course. even the game in general gets updated with every DLC they release, adding a little something for vanilla players to play even if they don't buy the DLC
>Don't consider playing the sequel btw, it's shit and it fucked up the game really hard by making the main character, Styx, into some annoying prick that keeps throwing out meme speeches and modern slurs every few minutes.
This. The sequel is nothing like the first, even the level design is worse. It's incredibly janky, it feels like it was made with the budget of 2 dollars. Lots of bugs too. Just play the first, it's a much better story and the gameplay is incredibly refined through the level design and the enemy placements. The second is incredibly easy because there's too many paths you can take, which hinders the difficulty of the game.
Towerclimb.
Extended timeline means shit without appropriate game mechanics
>store.steampowered.com
Syrian Warfare. I already bought it, but I just want to know if anyone has played it and how is it?
Haydee of course
WURM UNLIMITED NIGGAZ
SALE PRICE IS THE LOWEST IT HAS EVER BEEN
BEEN TRACKING THIS GAME FOR 3 YEARS NOW. THE PREVIOUS ALL TIME LOW WAS AT -50%
LOW MAGIC AGE
Wow that franchise is still going. Is Unlimited actually any good though?
>LOWEST IT HAS EVER BEEN
>not getting it in the previous $1 tier humble bundle
hehehe
>Pcbros despeatly trying to shill people overpriced games
Stop buying from Stea is it so hard to understand that most games can be bought cheaper through the year?
Mark of the Ninja is the fucking shit
Thank you for posting so that I can filter you.
I have it, it's okay. I recommend Grimrock, but if you already played both Grimrocks then Vaporum is gonna feel similar. It's one person though and his voice acting is servicable but not very good
yes its good you stupid fucking faggot
dont let the reviews discourage you
this game is ultimate autism, and the devs are not abandoning it
so if he buys the collection and turns out that he doesn't like it, wouldn't that be a complete waste of money? even buying essential dlcs, its still a waste if beginner user doesn't enjoy it. nothing wrong with buying the base game and enjoying it, as said above dlcs can be pirated anyway. the point here is to get user to play and hopefully enjoy the game
Is this any good? Looks Pretty comfy
should also note
YOU CANNOT PIRATE THIS GAME
IGG REFUSES TO PIRATE THIS SHIT
THEY HAVE VERY STRANGE RULES
FEW GAMES THEY DONT TOUCH
NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE PROTECTED TOO WELL
BECAUSE OF STRANGE REASONS WE WILL NEVER KNOW
NOW IS THE TIME TO PURCHASE
THE REST OF THIS SHIT IN THIS THREAD CAN BE DOWNLOADED FOR FREE AND WITH THE LATEST VERSIONS TOO OVER AT IGG GAMES
BUT NOT WURM
Planet Coaster. Only $20 right now.
Come play at the Mythmoor server some time. I managed to recruit two guys from Sup Forums to play Wurm and we clocked around 100 hours before we needed a break and switched to Starbound.
You can definitely torrent it dude, but I might still buy it.
no, the version actually does not work and is old as fuck.
the game has been through over 1gb of updates ever since
