I'm implying there are few games where you can reach >100 fps on 1440p with a 1070.

I've got a new monitor, now.
Not gonna' upgrade PC parts individually, I prefer to just build a new tower from scratch every 5-6 years for dat "new gayman PC" feel, and then catch up on games I couldn't run before.

R6Siege and BF4 are the only games i play daily nowdays but i pass 144 frames in siege and capped my FPS to not go over 300 in BF4.

Do whatever you want but you wont feel any difference than if you just upd your gpu.

dont forget that even if you dont max out the output of the monitor you still eliminated screen tearing without having to use the input lad inducing trash that is vsync.

I just think it's a hassle to always try upgrading whatever is bottlenecking me. It never ends. Idunno..

I don't get your post.
I have a 144hz monitor because my rig runs almost everything in the range of 50-100fps. If you exceed the refresh rate, you get screen tearing.

Most games had screen tearing on my 60hz monitor.

If you're using g-sync, free-sync, etc, you don't get tearing.
Otherwise you get tearing, if your FPS don't match the refresh rate of your screen - lower or higher.

thats exactly what i meant, even if you cant reach the monitors maximum frame cap (144) you still get a smoother gameplay experience simply because you dont have screen tearing like on 60hz monitors that run at 60ish with vsync off.

I heard the Ryzen 5 1600 is pretty much the best price/performance CPU out there. Not upgrading graphixx card until GPU prices deflate and I get a higher res/Hz monitor since it still maxes out pretty much anything at my current resolution.
