All those games aged better than the hot mess each PS1 game is these days, you can get a very clean signal with an RGB mod, and deblur the aliasing, which you can't with the ps1, there is no way to make that shitheap look any better.

Strongly disagree. I replay at least 10-15 ps1 classics a year. The only 64 game I ever went back to play was Pokemon stadium, and that was ebcause we were drunk and wanted to play Clefairy says. Nothing in the 64 game collection even remotely comes near the story depth of the ps1 games. Zelda and Perfect Dark get near it, but not quite to the bar set by Squaresoft.

N64 only had less than 20 good solid games whereas PS1 had a giant ass library of good mature games with good stories. To me story is a big factor if a game is good, but of course it has to have to have good gameplay to be a good game. Still, I'm extremely disappointed by modern Nintendo games because of their lack of a good story. And I'm not talking about Mario. Mario wouldn't work if they gave it a fleshed out story. I'm talking about Metroid, Mario RPG, Zelda, Pokemon, etc. These games could benefit a lot from a good fleshed out story, especially Pokemon and Zelda.

I have been blessed with having not a lot of nostalgia from that gen so i coudl experience a lot of the games quite after they came out,the PS1 is simply better with the Saturn being a distant second just because it has an amazing shmup library and very nice games like Panzer Dragoon,Bulk Slash and Dragonforce.

If you take out planned obsolescence, barely. FFVII only outsold OoT by 1 million copies. Keep in mind it had like an 18 months head-start, Zelda hadn't had a console game since 1992, and PS1 came out two years before N64. It's true, back then there weren't major hit franchises, but when you consider that Square left Nintendo in order to presumably make more dosh it is kinda hilarious, how paltry the difference was.
