The new Ignis DLC gives you the option to create an alternate ending to Final Fantasy XV where Ignis doesn't go blind and both Noctis and Ravus survive.
Why would Square do this? Did they need Noctis to survive for XV-2?

>Noctis survive.
survive what ?

Pls elaborate

Leave the thread before you're spoiled.

>you don't get a costume change that keeps this look

There is no way that beautiful soul is Ignis.

>the proof is in the pudding
>the pudding of your doom

In the normal ending Noctis dies to kill Ardyn for good.

Also 2 questions for this DLC:
1. Did this fix the Hold O combat?
2. Does Ignis come up with a new recipe?

>Noctis survives
>Ravus survives
>Luna still dead as fuck

Ardyn takes you to the Crystal knowing that Noct and crew will come to save Iggy, take back the ring, and use the crystal (keep in mind Ardyn always wanted this happen anyway). At the end you see Ravus alive after the 10 year timeskip, and a eyes-wide-open Iggy approach King Noctis on the throne. Now, I don't exactly understand how they stopped future Ardyn with Noctis intact, but there it is.

In the normal ending, Ignis simply uses the ring's power to fight Ardyn back during the end of the Altissa stuff, costing him his eyesight.

It's honestly a much more satisfying ending. It makes me wish it was the ending to begin with. The fact that Ravus doesn't die off-screen and him delivering Noctis's father's sword to him was a great touch.

Fuck all this retarded DLC shit. Why couldn't they just release a finished game?

Certainly happier, but I disagree on "satisfying." The entire theme of sacrifice doesn't mean as much if only Luna dies. I think it's Bahamut that says "everyone sacrificed for the king, so the king could sacrifice everything for all."

>Why would Square do this? Did they need Noctis to survive for XV-2?

Naw they just need reasons to entice nerds to buy the shit. Since you got to admit that adding and alternate ending is quite a bullshity but actually good marketing ploy to trick nerdos who would not otherwise buy the thing into buying it.
So naw it is more shallow and short term than to set up sequel

>buy episode ignis
>get episode ravus with more assassins creed gameplay

>the zignautus keep section in episode ignis is a tedious walking simulator
HOW DO THEY MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE?

>Naw they just need reasons to entice nerds to buy the shit.
probably this. The way DLC was handled by Square management (honestly I don't even think it was Tabata) was MONUMENTALLY stupid. It both ruins the game by how bare bones it is and completely robs you of the incentive to buy DLC because YOU KNOW WHAT FUCKING HAPPENS. I loved the game (reasonably) but the DLC, I just watched on youtube.

>cont

I still think it's stupid tho. The best Square could do with the DLC is make THE STORY PROGRESSION DLC FUCKING FREE and make actual separate DLC for purchase. Like an Ardyn prequel.

They're so confused about what to do with this game that they're just randomly changing shit now? The ending was one of the strongest parts of the game. Pathetic.

I would have gone back to FFXV (and maybe bought DLC) if the multiplayer was free for all owners. Such an odd decision to limit the playerbase like that.

That Ardyn boss battle was tight.

Why didn't Noct get to fight him at full power?

So when will this game be finished and when should I pick it back up again? I haven't touched this since the first chocobo festival

They just recently said there are plans to continue creating DLC episodes through next year, so you could be waiting sometime yet. However, I'd recommend playing the Assassin's Creed Festival thing before it disappears next month -- it has a great treasure hunt side quest after you beat the "story" portion.

So did Ardyn teabag you guys at the start of the fight in the alt ending? Cause i've seen videos where he does and he doesn't. He did to me.

This boss fight seems way fucking better than the actual final boss fight of the main game

>tfw I'll to wait till 2040 for an actual finished FFXV game

The problem is they tried to fix the BEST part of the game instead of
>The aimless chapters 1-8
>The literal railroading of 9-13
Square fucked up most of the game yet gave us an 11/10 ending this game doesn't really deserve

Sup Forums told me this game was shit, but I'm having more fun with this game than I've had with other stuff this year. Wish they didn't fucking introduce characters and have them be irrelevant later on though, like fucking Niflheim emperor

>2. Does Ignis come up with a new recipe?

hahahahahaha-heheheheheheh-Hahahahaha-AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH!!!!

yes

Sadly no on both counts the combat for Ignis is actually worse since his three basic attacks are really iffy and situational
>Fire is the best but is only good against single targets
>Ice fucks up groups but is inaccurate as fuck
>Lightning lets you close gaps but you end up going sanic around the battlefield unable to get decent damage on targets
Throw in big arenas, lots or enemies grouped up on the edges and ledges and high drops and you get a game with a lot of annoying shit

how easy is it to swap moves? Like how Noct can swap weapons?

*makes Noctis eat his vegetables*
nothin personell kid

Yeah, it's the directional buttons

>$20-$30 depending on your country
>plus psn or xbl on top of that
Just pay up goyim.

I've watched this back a couple times now and can't understand how Noctis is supposed to have survived. What a shitload of fuck. Until the end of time now we're going to idiot fans saying "hurdurr that alternate ending of Episode Ignis should be canon."

>stopped Ardyn

Oh fuck I completely forgot about that. I just finished the DLC last night and that didn't even cross my mind.

15-2? ew, thats nightmare fuel.

It's just an alternate ending you twit, in the real ending of the DLC he goes blind and everyone still dies at the end.

I fucking hate endings in which everyone dies at the end. Should have made this the canon one desu

Some people speculate that a deal or whatever shenanigan was made that Ardyn was not permanently killed in the alt ending. That he'd return for the next Chosen King to kill of or delay

It's inevitable. It's probably going to star Iris and clothes will play a role jobs and abilities much like FF 10-2and 13-3

They already said that the alt ending was only made because people wanted an happy ending of sorts. pretty sure it's not a sequel hook.

>Why would Square do this?

Tabata doesn't know what he's doing.

>I fucking hate endings in which everyone dies at the end

only Noctis died in the real ending

>XV-2
Had no idea how much I wanted this until now.

>Little cunt actually used the ring.

>uses ring
>uses Armiger
>uses Royal Arms
>even has Gladio and Prompto help him
>still gets BTFO by Ignis
And this is the true king?

Some people are too dumb to realize this.

You like eating shit that much?

please god no just moveonto FFXVI

>Some people are too dumb to realize this.

they didn't confirm nor deny the deaths of the bros

to be fair its not made clear and his friends are facing off against a horde of enemies that mostly wrekt your shit throughout the game.

but yeah, their images in the after life just means those are the ones he draws strength from, not that they are dead

I refuse to play FFXV until it's on the Switch.

The Switch has spoiled me.

It's so comfy.

nigga the PS4 can't even play that game without throwing a fit, and I don't have hopes for the PC version either, good luck.

you get the Mobile Version

I've had no problems on Xbox One ever.

HAHA GET FUCKED SHITCH USER, NEVER EVER
;~;

It already looks terrible, already has a fuck awful draw distance, and already drops the resolution to the point that you're just looking at blurry colour noise; do you really want to see that but an order of magnitude worse? You're looking at a future which genuinely looks worse than the gamescom promo shots.

So in other words, Save Aeris DLC confirmed?

I want to protect that smile

>Now, I don't exactly understand how they stopped future Ardyn with Noctis intact, but there it is.
It is possible that they simply 'killed' Ardyn like Ignis did in the extra verse, but that the Starscourge itself is still a future threat

From the thumbnail I legit thought that was a fallout new vegas screen shot.

I just got to chapter 10 on the maingame, should I play episode Ignis now?

No. Finish the game first.

All the DLC is kinda meant for after you beat the game.

I see, I played Episode Gladiolus just before taking the boat to Altissa and it kinda felt the perfect place for it.
But I'll finish the game before playing the next couple DLCs then

No, it spoils the ending

I'm sold

You can play Episode Prompto after chapter 13 tho.
I wish I played it that way.
