God damn I fucking love Origins. I honestly cannot believe that game came from modern Ubisoft.

What does "pure" mean? Is this the new buzzword? Because by the literal definition Super Mario Bros. should be there because it has zero gimmicks and is purely a platformer.

I'd go for legends. The addition of some origin levels make it all the better for me. Though both games feel rather procedural after a while.

Origins. Legends is very good but not as charming, murphy is kinda boring.

Linear levels focused on platforming, as opposed to exploration like a metroidvania/collectathon, or fighting enemies like a run n gun.

The Retro DKC games are so terribly overrated, it's embarrassing.
