Even if Nier hadn’t destroyed his gestalt, the personalities in the replicants would have been at odds with the gestalts anyways (like what happened with yonah) and one would have ended destroying themselves. So humanity had sort of doomed itself.

The Devola and Popola from the first Nier were in a lose-lose situation.
First off they weren't supposed to tell Nier anything about the project, so the other anons are wrong. They were only meant to over see the project. Then when they broke the rules and intervened, they were met with 3 options 2 that would've fucked the project up
The first one being kill Replicant Nier and thus forth rendering gestalt Nier's DNA useless (which was the person that triggered the project and the only person that kept all the other gestalt stable in the first place) in term fucking up the project at their own hands
2nd option let Replicant Nier do what he wants and fuck up the project himself
3rd option they tried to convince him to just return to the village but Replicant Nier was not having that, the fight escalated till eventually 1 of the twins died and the other went berserk basically saying "fuck everything".
So its really not their fault. They did what they were permitted and even broke the rules abit to try and remedy the situation. It's entirely Replicant Niers fault, but the project was doom the moment the Replicants formed their own awareness. So humanity was just entirely fucked from the beginning

That’s what I’m saying, there was nothing they could do to prevent the replicants having their own awereness. So why on earth was so much blame shifted on their models when they went out of their way to try and prevent it from nier destroying his gestalt?

This seems like kind of an autistic question, but it seems like the religious references generally made sense in this game and Eve being (or appearing as) male seemed out of place. Though his personality did effectively make him the woman of the pair.
