how the fuck do you beat these guys without another player?

if youre melee you just need a lot of patience and wait until the AI is gracious enough to give you opening for one hit
push debuton jusright
Killing Pikachu first is pretty easy
The only real difficulty is killing snorlax first
Use the pillars. Fight Ornstein while Smough is on the other side of a pillar. Steer clear of the pillar though, Smough's hammer is a big hitbox and he can do jump attacks or dashing attacks to close the distance.
This. Get a feeling for when Smough will smash with his hammer, dodge it with a roll, then you have a huge window to wail on Ornstein (who does relatively little damage and has relatively little poise).
It's just a matter of not getting greedy.
What was their name again?
>Struggling with nerfed O&S
lmao nigger try facing them before Patch 1.50.
biggie and smalls
many playthroughs later and killing ornstein last with melee alone is still impossible
The guy has no opening, hits like a truck both near and far, and if you manage to sniff out a moment to hit he will do an electric butt slam in less than 2 seconds with a shitload of range that will most likely 1shot you
Compared to him, smoughs moveset leaves plenty of easy openings.
Half the difficulty in this fight is managing the piss poor camera since the sprint is mapped to circle/B
Always have them both on screen at once. Don't get greedy with your attacks. Never get flanked. Don't be afraid to take some time to just run around and reposition yourself. Learn to time your dodges.
t. beat them with the bandit's knife.
spongebob & patrick
Just waste like 20 minutes of your life taking forever waiting to get in 1 or 2 hits because this fight is boring garbage unless you summon for it.
Summoning is fun as hell I don't know why people shit on it. I usually just summon the NPC characters though since I don't like real people much.
I've beaten super Oreos a few times as melee. I can't remember the exact details but I'm pretty certain I remember the key is to just hug his balls. Like every time he tries to attack you just get in there because his attacks have a whiff zone by his feet.
>many playthroughs later and killing ornstein last with melee alone is still impossible
You can just summon Solaire.
Make sure they're both in your sight at all times, and use the pillars to your advantage. It should be pretty easy to keep them a decent distance apart. Ornstein also has the habit of sticking back anyways to chuck lightning. Kill Ornstein first if you want an easier phase 2.
>Summoning is fun as hell
>I usually just summon the NPC characters
watching solaire get fucking demolished every times sure is fun
I don't know user. Are you doing dex or strength. I was able to do it on my dex builds so you can too!
>waiting rather than using the pillars
>recommending summoning instead of just using your brain
Why are there so many brainlets in the Souls community?
Yeah I didn't know about the stupid exploit where he can't hit you near him, still a pretty shitty fight though
Just stay between his legs. Don't log on to be prepared for a butt slam. There you go.
Patient. Attack only one of them times. Be wary with the other ones. I personally like to target Ornstein because Smough is slow and you can keep him in check on the background, while the opposite is a bit trickier. Also, use the pillars.
be overleveled, constantly run away while chugging estus and waiting for that opening to get one or two hits in, use humanity when you run out of estus, lol
Just make it the most boring fight ever, only attack when you have an opening, don't take any risk or try to do any cool shit.
The entire game is made around doing things the most boring way possible, this fight especially so.
git gud
Use the pillars and fight Ornstein primarily. Treat Smough like he's a moving hazard and be aware of where he is, but just exploit how aggressive Ornstein is and whittle him down until only Smough is left.
I have no idea how to kill Smough first. Shame, I'd like that Ornstein armour
>refuse to use any form of strategy
>"HURR FIGHT IS BORING, GROG NO CAN KILL EASY"
Jesus Christ, will you fags ever get good?
>slams you through a concrete pillar
You white boys suck ass at video games.
>stays away from pillars because of their range
>blocks
>rolls
>gets good
The one you focus will try to be more passive so they force the other one on you
The trick to gettin slim first is to hit him during his 2 swings because they cannot hit you at all if you're next to him
>mentions strategy
>the only viable thing in the entire environment is broken
bravo
>"Urg, Grog want kill but no want think! Grog play Skyrim instead!"
Literally what you sound like right now.
That's the strategy though, wait when they both leave an opening.
A safe opening is only formed when either Smough is really far away and Ornstein really close (not the other way around because Ornstein can be very fast) or when they both made an attack at the same time and you dodged both. Attacking in any other situation results in taking a risk, and unless you are overlevelled taking that kind of risk is a fast way to getting killed.
I find it boring because it's literally a waiting game, just dodging the same attacks and strafing around without attacking praying rngesus to separate them isn't my idea of fun.
>use I-frames
>win
wow so much thinking m9
also skyrim is trash
Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of waiting for openings.
That Crystal Halberd you get near the start of Anor Londo does a truck ton of damage, so use that in case your other weapons are weak.
Also, bring poison knives or poison arrows or poison bolts to poison the one you're trying to kill. It really helps kill the one you want to kill faster.
Took me 3 hours to kill Gargoyles. Took me 40 mins to kill OnS. The most overrated boss of all time
they are easy to separate because their speed is different. ornstein himself has a habit of immediately zooming up to you once the fight starts to show this to you. It's one of the few dual bosses in souls where they actually gave it some thought instead of just going DUDE PREPARE TO DIE LOL.
what was the hardest boss fight for you Sup Forums?
for me it was killing the four kings at SL20 to invade early
It took me over 200 tries to beat them. So... Just git gud.
I did what this guy said
exactly. I beat them in 1.0.
Players today have no idea what dark souls really was. It's csual baby mode today, just like DS3 is.
Manus
Stray demon. That stupid cunt has some of the most retarded hitboxes in the whole series.
cheese
Kalameet was a real pain in the ass
Duke's Dear Freya in CoC. Those spiders kill you in 2 hits, attack in 1 frame, can't be dodged, can't be outrun and respawn. It took me like 10 minutes of just running in circles, taking potshots.
I tried doing the Four Kings at SL1 for some low-level invading. I gave up, it was just too much for me.
>equip Eagle Shield
>hold up Eagle Shield
>backpedal while keeping them in sight
>wack Ornstein in the shin
>wack Super Smough in the heel
And now I have Smough's Hammer to one-hand.
Did you have a torch equipped? They don't like torches.
>implying Dark Souls is hard
please
Probably Artorias or Manus at SL1
WOOOOOW
Whatever, I started a new game and beat her on my first try. I also got invaded twice after aggroing every enemy in brightcove and accidentally ran into Ornifex's dead end and still survived.
Was the invader that peasant douche with the pickaxe or that asshole with the crossbows?
Crossbow, plus the Forlorn jerkoff. Thanks for reminding me of the pickaxe guy - 3 invasions, but I didn't count him because he got fucking bitchslapped.
Hmm, now that I think about it the pickaxe guy doesn't count as an invasion. I'm pretty sure he's there as is.
>Not SOTFS
This is why you were in chains
