reminds me of how the only reason Raiden exists in the Metal Gear world now is because Kojima wanted to appeal to high school girls to get them to play the next installment. MGS2 overall was such a fucking mess story wise and ever since then it feels like every character that was introduced in 2, they feel stuck with and have to quickly make shit up to justify their existence.

I like to tell myself the developers are trolling everyone, and after a 45 minute TLoU “cinematic” intro Kratos gets his chains back and the game abruptly switches back to an actual God of War game.

The new game isn't aimed at the fans of the previous titles. All the combos and juggles and shit are gone to make the game more accessible to story-driven gamers. It's basically getting the DmC works

This is unironically why they won't announce a new DMC game yet. If they did no one would give a fuck about God of War.

For me. It has a father and son story and there's Norse mythology in the game. Two things I love.

I meant "DmC treatment" in that the themes and atmosphere are getting changed drastically for the sake of making some sort of new splash with an established IP*

The idea of "hey it's thing but like other thing" isn't always terrible. It's just when you completely forget what makes your first thing good but scrap those aspects for mediocre traits from new thing and then compromise the whole project in a pursuit of a "wider audience"

Like "dying" would be an excuse to stop appearing in games. He's old as fuck in this game so 2 things can happen
