I don't play this and have no idea what's happening. Did he get Play of the Game for killing his own team or something?

Every character has an "ultimate" that they can use about once every 3 minutes which is extremely powerful. Hanzo shoots a giant projectile that goes through walls and deals high damage while you're inside it.

He managed to hit the entire enemy team while they were in a hallway and thus couldn't dodge it, and killed them all.

The game has an Elo system, even in quickplay. When you first start playing you're dumped in with the shit players. If you're already skilled at FPS games you need to play for a few weeks to get up to a matchmaking rank where you'll play with people of your own skill level.

It goes faster if you just play Ranked instead of Quickplay though

hanzo is pretty balanced for the average shitters who play him. If someone who is good at the game plays him though he can just destroy. The unbalanced characters are mercy and junkrat. They're basically required to win any game.

It's almost like that's what they're for. Also, is there some trick to shot at feet and win man that everyone but me knows? Because it seems like every time I shoot his scatter arrow at someone's feet, the fragments go in every direction but at the enemy, and then they kill me.
