OOOOOH SHIT! IT'S REAL!

I'm pleasantly surprised they're actually releasing it this soon. They ended up only having it delayed for one month total in the end. There have been plenty of huge changes in the beta lately, so I'm sure it's gonna be just like the first one in that it's gonna get patched every month for the next two years until it's much better, but fuck it, there's no other RPG worth a shit on the horizon and Divinity: Original Sin 2 sucked. I'm pumped, senpaitachi.

YES! I backed this just in time too. Like a week ago.

I'll pirate before I buy. I don't want to risk another bore of a game and I regretted buying the first one just because it was Obsidian and because I enjoyed their past games. Expansion was better than main game though.

Here's hoping the flavor is better this time around, and they don't use any of those crappy backer visions again.

>and they don't use any of those crappy backer visions again
Those are already confirmed out, fortunately.

Meh.

I still think obsidian is constantly pushing for their weakest points.

My favourite RPGs from obsidian were New Vegas and Alpha Protocol, 2 games with settings that aren't usually seen in the RPG genre.

They should go ball to the walls and make a RPG based in the wild west or modern fantasy.

All these pseudo-classic RPGs are just so boring to me nowadays, because I already played dozens of them.

Paid full price for the first one, played maybe three hours.
Not about to get burned again.

Pre-Order items, same as the first one

Just play Divinity Original Sin 2. Plenty of replay value and you're guaranteed to be playing a better game.

What's different this time around is the different editions being there from the launch. Also, three different DLC packs? Based on what Feargus said, it's not gonna be full sized expansions like White March, which sucks.

Good, stick to your japenese grindan adventures.

Maybe you should just learn how not to be a retard and read or watch some reviews before you throw 50 bucks out the window.

>skullsaber
Alrighty then, time show them my awesome swordskulls.

>Deadfire is coming
>Still can't decide a faction at the end of Act 2
Gods help me.

I dislike it when pre-order items are not just cosmetic changes. Not because I'm jealous, but because I always gimp myself on using them since I want it to be challenging.

FUCK KIDDYNITY UNORIGINAL SHIT 2!
AND FUCK RPG CODEX!

go for the paladins like guys

>KIDDYNITY UNORIGINAL SHIT

Holy shit, it is the same guy from every POE and DOS thread. Do you not have a job or something?

Knights if you're roleplaying as a good guy, Mafia if you're roleplaying as a bad guy, Dozens if you're roleplaying as a retard.

I was so disappointed in Original Sin 2 that I couldn't even finish it one time, let alone replay it

Heh

What was disappointing about it? The armor system?

My job is to protect mature gaming from shitty writting, terrible humor and cirus music.

Where's the beta torrent?

They hyped up the writing but it was just as bad, if not worse, than the first game. I liked none of the companions. Armor system too, yeah.

manlet cant read for too long, brain hurts

>5 member party instead of 6
Why? One of the things I really liked about PoE1 was that it had a fucking lot going on in combat, and I felt like I was traveling with an actual party.

5 is going to feel so empty compared to 6. Mods when?

brainlets felt 6 party members was to overwhelming

>Just started my 4th playthrough yesterday

Hopefully i wont quit right at the very end as ive done twice and actually finish the game

I felt the same way about the game, but still ended up liking it because I never really cared about companions and he writing/story.

But I took huge issue with the armor system. So the original I liked more.

Armor is looking pretty good in Deadfire.

Fuck brainlets, 99% of the industry caters to them. CRPGs used to be where I could go be autistic and micro.

Fuck, I'll still buy it but this was a dumb move.

67 days left for another great Obsidian game filled with:
>Masterful and unique story
>Intriguing characters with depth
>Subdued and sensible humor
>Dialogue so extraordinary even Tolstoy would be jealous
>Thank you for reading this line
>Fast as a cheetah
>No shilling whatsoever
>Modern real time with pause combat for real hardcore gamers
>Brand new stunning graphics
>Actual character building consequences
>Perfect balance, making any character viable
>Some traces of environmental combat to boot

>make cities and town more interesting
>have better quests
>better itemization, like they did with the soulbound items, only make more of them with less reliance of crafting
>make the fucking loading times better
>better dialogue and story too

Are any of these going to happen?

>tfw when I backed PoE 1 for $100 and never got past Chapter 1

>make cities and town more interesting
Probably not, from the hype material, the towns look about on par

>have better quests
Probably

>better itemization, like they did with the soulbound items, only make more of them with less reliance of crafting
Definitely, the question is how big of an improvement it will be

>make the fucking loading times better
They said as much and I believe them, impressions based on the beta in this department are good too

>better dialogue and story too
Unlikely. I expect the writing to be worse, now that there's no Avellone or Ziets, Fenstermaker is on part-time and you have people like Megan "Kills-in-shadows" Starks in the team

Game is pure garbage compared to real greats like BG2 or D:OS2
Shame. I pirated the game and couldnt play more than a hour because it was so slow and boring.

my loading times were never longer than 3 seconds. are you guys just bad at computers?

I want to play 1, is hero edition enough or should I get all the DLCs as well?

>Wild West rpg
Don't do this to me user. Don't make me want something I'll likely never have.

Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky are working on a game that might be exactly what you're looking for. Comes out in late 2019 at earliest, though.

>another game where nothing happens besides the main character's business
>more towns with nothing going on in them
>more backer NPCs
>more empty wilderness with nothing to find in it
>more classic rpg mechanics for no reason but to say "hey remember baldur's gate?" YOU MUST GATHER YOUR PARTY BEFORE VENTURING FORTH
>more people sucking obsidian's dick over a mediocre story with no hook or payoff

Get the white match dlc

how will larianiggers possibly recover?

White March is some of the best content in the game, in my opinion, but it's not gonna sway you if you didn't enjoy the base game.

>BG2
>D:OS2
>Real greats

>>Subdued and sensible humor
>>Modern real time with pause combat for real hardcore gamers
>>Actual character building consequences
This but unironically

Another anime poster who don't know shit but still shitpost.

Any clue on what setting it is?

The towns had plenty going in them. The story had a pay-off, although I agree the hook was noticeably absent.

akshully it will have New Vegas-like story where there's a bunch of fleshed out factions each wanting a piece of Deadfire and you can ally with one of them or screw them over, certain quests would play out differently depending on who you allied with etc.

still plenty of dungeons to crawl, though

And how exactly do you know all this?
>More backer NPCs
Already confirmed they aren't doing that again.

>more backer NPCs
NÕOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I sincerely hope you're joking

Are you familiar with the Deadlands Franchise?

I like how they abandoned the watcher concept because they did fuck all with it in the first game.

Maybe being a ship captain will mean fuck all in this one, you know, to keep with tradition.

The only thing we know is that it's not based on a license (so, no, it's not World of Darkness or Star Wars or whatever) and that it's not fantasy. I'm hoping for some heavy sci-fi stuff.

i would kill for another alpha protocol. the first one played like shit, had goofy writing and was like 10 hours long but it was still a really satisfying experience.

How far along did you get into the game? Many people complain about the bloated loading times the further in you get.

Modern fantasy is kind of a trashy setting and post-apo settings are dime a dozen.

Well there's Hard West but it's pretty combat focused from what I saw.

Well, that's actually a pretty good idea. Obsidian needs more in-house IPs.

Relying on external franchises will dry them up in the long run.

There are only 10 backer NPCs and they're not like the ones in the first game. They'll be actual NPCs that will hopefully be indistinguishable from the regular ones.

>Modern fantasy is kind of a trashy setting

I dunno. Persona is technically modern fantasy and people like it. Same with World of Darkness and such.

Also, NV was Post-post- apocalyptic. It was about the society that grew after the end of the world and how it works.

Tides of Numenera is technically post-post-post-post-post apocalyptic, too.

>Also, NV was Post-post- apocalyptic. It was about the society that grew after the end of the world and how it works.
Yeah, FO2 was such as well. I think with NV the catch is how well the setting is realized, it takes itself seriously enough despite playing with some pretty silly concept. A bunch of Roman cosplayers might be funny until you realize just how driven, fanatical and ruthless they are.

>Modern fantasy is kind of a trashy setting
Legit just end your life

finished the base game but couldnt bring myself to play the expansion, felt exhausted and like the trip wasnt worth it.

those ppl must savescum like maniacs or they dont have an ssd or the proper vcredist installed or whatever

>I like how they abandoned the watcher concept
They didn't. You're playing with the same character as the first one, carrying the decisions you made and everything. He's just a captain on top of it now.

Game info doesn't say a word about it, so I'm sure it'll be just as important as ever.

soy tier response

Do we still have the ghost vision from the first game? Or did that go away once we kill Thaos?

The only other thing we really know about it is that it's Boyarsky stated it was his dream project or something along those lines.

Oh cool! I'll be sure to not give a damn! Oh wait... I was already doing that.

I'm pretty sure we do, yeah. What went away was the awakenings and the constant nightmares.

If you didn't care, you wouldn't have made this horrible post.

>He's not gonna side with the oonga boongas so that he can play volleyball and drink pina coladas with them

Killing Thaos was to stop you from going crazy. iirc it had to do with your past life having unresolved business with him.

Pleb

I'm with you. 6 party members was just right. Also sucks that we're losing out on one companion. Only seven choices when we had eight last time around. And that's not even counting the fact we're probably not getting companions from the expansion like the other time.

Post yfw Denuvo

They are the best of the worst.
I mean, you got jew Vailians, pirate Vailians and Rautai conquerors. All trying to take advantage of the natives.

Nah. It's on GOG. Pirate away.

The shark colonizers sound pretty cool too, desu. But the pirates and the traders can suck my dick.

Anyone here played beta?
How is the performance?
PoE runs great on my old pc but Original Sin 2 runs like a total shit

It's a bit dodgy but runs better than OS 2 on my PC.

>pre-orders

There's no difference whatsoever between pre-ordering a game and buying it on the day it launches, and shaking my damn head at you if you're a pleb that doesn't play your games fresh on release date. Fucking poorfags.

Switch version when? It'd be perfect!

>previous save is gone
>have no desire to go through the dungeon below the fortress ever again
Will I be missing out by not having a complete save to use?

soulbound pistols when

They said they're gonna have a website to make your own save with choices and everything like Dragon Age.

Post pirate music

Day 1 pirate with no regrets.

Wonder what happens to the orlan baby girl if you kept it in the original?

Damn I pledged yesterday for the premium digital + DLC for $74.99 only to find out i could get a physical version for $79.99. Does the physical version come with the DLC too? Should I try to get a refund to reorder the physical version?

FUCK i havent finished POE 1 yet.

She's apparently 8 years old now. Gonna be a crew member, no doubt.

If it's the "Obsidian" version, it should have the DLC, yeah. Go for it. I think you'll miss on the special backer items, but those aren't probably worth 5 bucks.

do """backers""" get the backer items plus preorder items?
