Friend had the same problem. Turning off his anti-virus before playing fixes it for some reason.

If you're running avast, just make the game an exception.

So after setting multiple exceptions for this game with AVG, I turned it off completely and now it works. Why the fuck do antivirus hate this game? And why does AVG not let it run even when it's am exception.

Because SF5 is malware. In SF5 pc release, they baked real online computer hacks into the game to stop pirates. Players bitched enough and they turned it off. I repeat, TURNED IT OFF, not removed. Your antivirus picks up on that malware that has the power to hijack your computer. In essence, all capcom has to do is turn it back on and gain access to all the files on your computer via the online connection. You just have to trust capcom that they would never look at the files on your computer.

You can buy a fighter for the single player and go online when you want. Just the act of mastering a large roster to some proficiency takes upwards of 40hrs. Only problem with sticking to mostly single player in fighting games is that it teaches you bad habits like relying too much on a single combo or jump ins for all your moves.

I would buy SF5 for $10, pirate all the DLC and install lewd costumes and mods. It's what I did to DoA5. SF5 isn't worth more than $20, it's been out for so long and it's kinda bad. They fucked PC users over too much for me to work up any fucks to give. And I can get all the SF5 lewds from you goops anyway.
