what patch made you leave?

6,84 for me the patch that remade gold gain

...

...

Original 7.00 for a while, but all my complaints with it have been fixed since then

>2 posters
>3 with me

OP is a fucking samefag retard

>wahh cosmetics
>is still the only game in the genre that doesn't make me unlock characters and isn't built around a forced meta

Quit during the rubber band meta but that's been fixed.
7.07 was pretty damn good.

Left at the latest patch. Cant bear ut anymore that it became so heavily team dependent no matter what role you play. It could be fine as dota 2 is a team game expect no one plays in team and everyone is really toxic. The game does feel like a big gamble on who gets the more sane minded people when they queue up. Its just not fun. Indivual skills are totally removed, comeback is possible at any part of the game and farming is irrelevant except if u are an anti mage. Games are just not fun, even if you win you feel burned out and feel like you gained nothing but stress.

OP do you have an axe to grind or something

>toxic
Stopped reading right there.

Yup people only communicate when they want to say something bad about you. You might not like it but dota2 is even more toxic than lol.

thats not me

>it took valve 4 years after the beta was over to complete it

who the fuck is autistic enough to care about this if it's already done

>weeeehhhh we lost 4 teamfights in a row and now our lead is gone weeeeh fucking memeback

Dota2 got really boring in the last few years. Its time to move on.

>they held heroes hostage to release as little content as possible
>not a big deal

If Valve offered a Dota 2 Classic, what patch would you want it to stay on?

All I want is a LoL classic

yeah, it's not a big deal

at this rate they're releasing two new heroes every year so you don't need to sperg the fuck out

i don't even really play dota anymore so i don't give a shit

6.81 the last patch before memeback

The last 3 heroes they released were utter shit. Actually arc warden was shit too.

Game went downhill after TI2 and only got worse after that.

>4 years helding the heroes hostage
>We could be having 8 more heroes

I'm taking a break until battlepass comes out so I can throw money at hats

maybe you guys should cry about it

...

>3728x7051

It hurts. A lot. So many good times just playing with Sup Forums.

When they put in ranked MM and then for real with rebirth of what ever it was called

Turbo made this game great
Its truly the best mode

what changed in lol?

None. I left because i realized that the game wasn't fun.

This is where I started to question shit

7.0 made me quit for good since techies was nerfed into the ground, and I base my opinion on how well dota is doing with how viable techies is in pubs.

But yeah 6.84 I started to realize that they were putting -em into the base game without actually adding in -em, which is why half of the roster became useless and needed reworks, because dota lost its early game and mid game once people started getting 10 minute battlefuries and BOTs

they removed ap yi, ap kog and ap trynda
these were the only champions I found fun (when not playing with friends)

you know remember james

got out when they remade the hud, monkey king was getting there, after 1000 hours or so

reinstalled today, played a game

why the hell did I lose so much time with this pile of shit? hell, even heroes of the storm plays better than this

>heroes of the storm plays better than this
well thats the game they are trying to emulate with all the changes, in the end blizz did kill dota

I legitimately went back to playing WC3 dota

Its still on 6.83 IIRC without any of the NEW MEME hero reworks.

too bad it still has memeback

The one that fucked drafting to be general jack of all trade drafts over specific compositions.

>all retards in this thread

dota will never die

fuck off

It is already in heavy decline.

its already dead and it keeps losing players.
/d2g/ is litearlly dead

Good thing bristleback is fair and balanced in dota 1 because his turnspeed is unnerfed so he can't just turn, hit you with basher/abyssal, and then turn back around

Comeback mechanics, so that consistent good decisions get punished if you make 1 mistake.

The forced meta appeared at the end of season 1 and got more and more forced as the years went on, and since the beginning almost every original character got completely remade. The art style also completely pivoted.

It's an entirely different game and it's a total crock of shit

In the end LoL won, being the easier game and also more fun. Dota2 tried to beat LoL on its own field and failed.

so basically the same valve did to dota

6.38

Same happened with HON

HON 3.0 killed what little playerbase HON had.

When they went F2P they completely ruined the core, and by adopting LOL style 'progression' and selling heroes, they shot themselves in the foot.

DotA 2 is trying to be league/HOTS in terms of gameplay, which is ruining the deep metagame they had to begin with.

No? Dota doesn't have anything even remotely comparable to LoL's forced lane meta (it's a part of the matchmaking now, you pre-select from the forced roles and get assigned to a lane) and Dota's only reworked a small handful of their heroes, with even the heaviest changing ones being a lot less of an overhaul than even the average LoL rework. Riot literally deletes characters and creates totally new ones with the same name, go look at the Swain one that just happened if you want an example.

I'm not sure what you're on about

>No? Dota doesn't have anything even remotely comparable
yes it has a forced meta, you cannot pick push split push farm 4p1 or any otehr strategy that isn't mid game focus into sacling for late for kills from memeback.

When I hit 800 hours and realized I had seen enough.

>only 800 hours
lucky you

this

9038 hours
Still playing, not planing to stop any time soon.

the game got progressively worse since ti3 but the last one for me was 7.07. when 7.00 hit, i started gradually playing less though

That's not what I just said LoL has.
Call me when Dota distills their game down to 5 forced roles that go in specific mirrored lanes and locks it into the matchmaking

how can you stomach it is beyond me

regardless point still stands

Same. I find beta babies crying about muh balance hilarious.

>Plays the inferior game valve made to appease reddit
>Calls others betas

>user is being toxic to me
LOL

who are you quoting

>professional teams have been playing artifact.
>They say they'll quit their respective games ( DoTa, League, hearthstone, gwent for artifact. )
>"It's really good." is all they're saying, probably all they're allowed to say.

FUCK. Anyone have an uncle working at Valve that knows anything about this game? I know it's a hero-based three-lane game with cards. I can't imagine how that works. They keep saying how good it is tho.

i didn't leave completely but my enjoyment dropped when they rleased shrines

it's already dead in every country that isn't russia china or peru

>card game based off of moba

hmmm....
where have I seen this before?

That was one of the shittiest F2P games i've ever played.

>They say they'll quit their respective games

fake news

the story of HoN is actually pretty funny

>HoN 3.0 wants to make a more casual LoL oriented experience
>combined with the release of Dota2 the playerbase gets DESTROYED
>the main playerbase is basically now all SEA players
>Just recently said they were going to do some massive updates to HoN that "goes back to the core gameplay"
>basically HoN just went in a complete circle

>>basically HoN just went in a complete circle
i wonder when dota is going to do the same

when the 500th patch rolled around with no regon lock and more casualization

Game has soft-region lock.
What casualization?

Sir Meme Slacks fucking played it.
It's driving me insane.
It's going to be SIX FUCKING MONTHS SINCE THEY SAID -ANYTHING- ABOUT IT

Played a few games for the first time in a few years before Dueling Fates. Play a few after, last one was against an AM who was well protected by the rest of his time. Was playing shadowshaman. Every fucking time the cocksucker would blink away, his fucking illusion would drain all of my goddamn mana by itself. It's not even a matter of the illusion doing damage or existing, it's the fact it procs his fucking mana drain shit.

...

...

AM isn't even good.

Alch pos 5 is viable now lads thanks to talents
Clan_Iraq is the future

>this is the same exact thing as this!!
>it completely isn't because X Y and Z
>oh, well the point still stands!!
??????????

there is NO regionlock dumb queer

Strangely enough, I quit when I started getting good. At that point I realized I was no longer having fun because I had gone from "Oh, I made a mistake, haha" or "My teammate fucked up in the most hilarious way", to getting mad at myself or (silently) getting mad at my teammates. I was no longer having fun from learning the game but getting stressed from expecting too much from the game and myself.

This is also the only multiplayer game that's made me feel that way, and I don't know why.

What casualization?

it's because you commit too much to each match (1+ hour) and a mistake can cost you that entire time, and it's especially bad when it's a dumb teammate making said mistake

Well that makes sense, so I guess that explains it. At this point, I just install Dota once a year to watch the International since I find it entertaining, and I like having control over spectating than just watching it on Twitch.

OKay this is actual, real, honest, genuine, LITERAL autism

new indicators for every single thing, shrines, gimmick abilities, scan, talents and gold/exp changes to make games shorter. valve doesnt market dota, they make quirky wow epik abilities for dota watafak, thats their marketing.

4.3.3
The game had been on a steep decline since 4.0, but this was the patch that just made me quit. I've been putting up with all the shit for a few years now but this was the tipping point.

At least now I'm free from the moba curse.

Was this ever clarified? Kind of amazing we live in a world where the CEO of a Washington tech company just goes on reddit (as if we needed any more proof that they just go on /r/Dota2 for their feedback) calls someone an ass and says that's why they fired him and that's that.

I still play it to this day as a matter of fact im basically part of a very small group of playtesters who work with the employees behind the game on a daily basis.

There is a VERY big overhaul planned that will revitalize the game and re-balance the whole game basically.

Its so fucking good but I cant say much.
Not sure when its all gonna be ready but its been an absolute blast to playtest and is 10X more fun than retail.

I've heard rumors of its existence, but you can understand why I won't play until it actually releases. Really hoping it saves the gameplay instead of being another 4.0

Playtesting sounds much more fun that playing live, people don't know metas yet so it would easily recapture that feeling of simply playing a fun game instead of the rigid autistic meta bullshit. Really hate the obsession people have with metas

will they remove memeback?

>This is the kind of people valve carters too

The meta is literally picking lycan and dumpstering with their towers at 10 minutes. You memeback parrots have no clue as always.

>gimmick abilities

what is a gimmick ability lul

I still play it every day, I've never run into anything horrible that people always whine about, but then I've only played 3000 hours so obviously I'm just a casual who doesn't really know about the game.

Im with you

I think Johnny's are what keeps a game alive not Spikes. I die a little on the inside everytime game devs make changes trying to make the Spike's happy.

Tryhards dont know how to have fun.
Starry-eyed newplayers and noobs do.

Its as simple as that.

care to elaborate on what you consider "memeback"?

A gimmick ability is an ability that uses unique mechanics.

Heroes should never have unique mechanics they should only stick to variations of passives and active abilities we already have.

People literally believe this shit.
