Friendly reminder that this is the best shooter out right now
Squad
literally one of the most boring games i have played in my life
i didn't like it and i found the performance to be bad
Isn't it another of these multiplayer only memes? Looks like it wants the arma audience but they won't get them with cod level gameplay
Yeah, it's basically arma with a different flavour of autism.
Arma at least supports single player and has a neat mission editor.
Best shooter is a stretch. It'd be closer to most realistic shooter. But fun nevertheless. Most of the people who complain are the folks who just try to lone wolf it.
That's not Escape from Tarkov.
>shoot some unarmored scav in the head twice with ak
>see blood come out
>he turns around and shoots me once with a makrov
>kills me
Oh yeah. Great game. Not to mention shitty server lag coupled with people killing each other simultaneously or faggots who do nothing but camp the exit plus ai with wallhacks. I'll give it some time before I try it again.
Arma tryhard here. I dropped the game as soon as I found out that there are only 3 stances. Why have a game based on tactical combat if you can't even use cover to full advantage? Waste of money.
Escape from tarkov did stances pretty neatly too in my opinion. You could adjust lean and height with a slider of sorts.
SHame the game itself is shit
>Friendly reminder that this is the best shooter out right now
The game is shit, every time a patch comes out everyone checks it out, realises the game is still shit then the community dies again within a month.
The devs will never manage to get the game off of life support because they're incompetent as fuck, slow with updates and honestly have no fucking idea what made PR so good.
>most realistic
If you tried to play Arma with ACE's advanced ballistics on your head might explode, brainlet.
How does it compare to Red Orchestra?
>3.5k people
>dead
theres like 40-50 full severs at any time and considering the servers are roughly 80 people thats pretty good. Good luck finding that many in arma that game is second life or king of the hill trash now.
As someone who has followed since operation flashpoint arma is too much of a pain in the ass to get a serious large-scale game going (need to be active in some autism group) you never have a problem with that in squad and ive pretty much given up on arma
Uh huh.
how is their mod better than their actual game jesus christ
*was
It's complete dogshit now.
faspbp
Why?
>MP only realismshit
No.
>Server performance is fucking awful
>Because of this hit registration suffers
>Animation desync causing people to shoot you while facing away from you
>General desync causing people to kill you after death
>Vehicle changes that have made them stronger within their already arbitrary hit point system
>LAT client siding at an all time high
>Nobody really picks LAT anyway so most of the time vehicles just rape with impunity
>Influx of some of the worst new players ever
>Those same new players squad leading
>Bullet lead time being all fucked up; I have to lead somebody almost five whole degrees from just 50 meters away
>Weapon sway is grossly exaggerated, if you move the slightest while ADS you'll be in an earthquake
>Sometimes weapon sway will stay even after you stop moving, forcing you to go out of ADS and then back in to get it to stop
That's all I can think of off the top of my head right now, but there's a slew of other problems that aren't specific to V10 that still haven't been fixed either, and most likely won't be for a long time. The biggest of these being the slow addition of new content.
In my experience most people complaining about
>muh hit reg
>muh bullet lead
just need to git gud with the new weapon handling, never had any such issues myself
>peaking at 4k midweek
>life support
>PR
>peaking at 300 on weekends
Highest concentration of douchebags and power hungry admins. Good game though.
>peaking at 4k midweek
And rapidly declining.
You only need 3 stances, like you know, all the other shooters in existence. What is the point of this autistic shit
>Like 15 meters away against a target that barely just started moving with an 8x scope
Yeah, come back to me when you're doing that against somebody at 100 meters at a full sprint with iron sights.
so at what point is a game not on life support? Is Insurgency on life support too? Red Orchestra? Rising Storm?
Not every game needs a gazillion players, especially if it doesn't have or need matchmaking
>so at what point is a game not on life support?
When it can maintain a consistent playerbase that doesn't dwindle down to nothing after every patch.
It's not rocket science champ.
I think if a game can consistently maintain above 1k players it's indistinguishable from any highly populated game, at least as far as matchmaking goes
So, Squad?
>So, Squad?
No, the complete opposite in fact.
Highest average playercount since launch, and it didn't even have a free weekend.
So why is this bad?
By your requirements Insurgency, Rising Storm and Red Orchestra are dead games aswell.
>By your requirements Insurgency, Rising Storm and Red Orchestra are dead games aswell.
When did I even mention those?
>meanwhile a bush can stop a full speed armored vehicle
You didn't, but then the only "alive" tactical shooter would be arma, which is 90% made up of autist life, KOTH and wasteland shitters so it might aswell be dead too.
>no choppas
>garbage maps
>incompetent devs aka bunch of friends who pretend to be game developers but in reality just shitpost in discord and do nothing
mite b cool in few years, but i doubt i will care about this game in 2020 lmao
Most games don't retain relevance for more than 5 years
They're two different breeds desu.
RO aims for squad-based, usually close-quarters centric gameplay. Maps are tighter and focused on capturing 1-2 points at a time.
Squad mimics Project Reality, both being squad based, combined arms (infantry, tanks, fix/fast wing air, etc). Maps are usually pretty large 2-4km^2 and there are several flags throughout to capture, ala Battlefield.
Both RO and PR are good games in their own rights and arguing which one is 'better' is like saying you prefer apples over oranges.
Squad at this time, is just an incomplete version of PR, on a newer engine with much tighter gunplay. Like I said they're trying to mimic PR, so if you want to taste the gameplay, I'd recommend you get PR, which is free and standalone. From then you can judge if you want a newer game, but with much much less content and a pricetag, to get Squad.
i don't build any hopes, i am fully aware that squad will be dead as fuck or killed by other project by competent devs in few years. the pace they have with this game is horrendous and there is more. instead of acknowledging what made PR fun in the first place, they ditch most of the PR gameplay legacy and replace it with their garbage mechanics straight outta arma. like, having this retarded fob building with '''points''' instead of comfy crates and braindead rally points that shit out players in the middle of nothing.
offworld went full retard.
>having this retarded fob building with '''points''' instead of comfy crates
this is such a nonsense point lmao
>braindead rally points that shit out players in the middle of nothing.
valid criticism, but neither has anything todo with "straight outta arma"
you never spotted a fob by a shitty crate drop? you never had fun trying to stop a crate sliding down the hill? you never requested a crate drop from heli so you can re-arm or get HAT?
crates are FUCKING FUN
also no fucking ammo pouches, what the fuck?
