Not necessarily. I wouldn't really want to play my favorite games for 1000 hours. Most of them just aren't the kinds of games that you play that much. It works for some games better than others.

it adds plenty, basicly it's to give you an advantage for properly preparing for hunts, World even makes this shit significantly easier with instant gathering with no need for items to do so. gathering points and ore do take a second but still don't require items to gather.

there is even less need to actually gather due to the expandable farm that gives you free gathering items after every hunt (you can pay points to multiplay the rate) and less need in crafting for these items.

very nice to go into a fight with a rathalos and dominate due to flash pods

Forgot to mention, if you're looking for online hack n' slash rpgs then one is Devilian (ran by trion, decently mindless fun with some paywalls) or Drakensang Online (heavy P2W but decent game overall).

then you go for the gameplay mods
then you go for the sex mods
then you figure out how to make it stable
then you go for the sex mods and the gameplay mods at the same time
then you go for as many mods as you can fit
then you start merging mods to get around the limit
then you start tweaking mods
then you start making your own mods which takes such a damn long time because papyrus is for niggers

The essential base is skytweak, ultimate combat, tkdodge, tkhitstop.

Skytweak is used to unfuck the godawful balancing, lets you make magic scale, change how smithing works, change attack speeds, make everything glass cannons, etc.
It does the most work given appropriate effort.
also lets you tweak things like havokhit, an ini setting which causes npcs to deform based on weapon impacts.

Ultimate combat is betterAI packages for shit and makes boss mobs "bossier"
Hard incompatibility with animal fucking mods.

tkdodge lets you use the same iframe dodge from ultimate combat
Tkhitstop adds wieght to weapon hits by adding a "stop" on hit.

This is assuming you have all the nessary stability mods in order to actually seriously mod you game.
From there you basically go to nexus and pick some good ones as well as other sites.
You gotta find those on your own because all bethesda modders are dramafaggots and some cunts got kicked outta the nexus circlejerk.
Loverslab has some, but others host shitty blogs that can be a bitch to find.

I don't mind grinding as long as the core gameplay is fun.

Nethack - My all-time favorite game. The game took me 350 hours to beat once. Beating it with every character could keep you busy for 1000 hours. Then when you master that there is a mod called SLASH'EM extended which is so hard the only person to have ever beaten it is the girl who created it. That should keep you busy for a while.

Dwarf Fortress - Ridiculous amount of depth. 1000 hours easily.
