Anyone here feels like video games is ruining their lives? Serious discussion please
I got hooked in WoW bad from 2004 to 2011 or so, and then I switched to LoL and consoles. I don't have any friends (used to have some), last time I had sex was a year ago (to a hooker), and my daily routine is pretty much: >wake up and go to work >work >get home and game/browse/4chin til bed
How do I break the cycle bros?
Jose Jones
>How do I break the cycle
Only you can know the answer. But I think this is your fate. You ended up this way for a reason, and to fight it will bring you immense struggle.
Cooper Cox
Get another hobby like going to the gym, painting, reading. I was feeling kinda like that before and started doing shit like volunteering for festivals around where I live, since it gives me a temporary purpose for the day I volunteer and I get to meet people every now and then.
Lucas Hall
Your first problem is playing lol In all seriousness you probably just need another hobby, try a bunch of shit

>Video game addiction No such thing. You are not addicted to videogames specifically, you are addicted to procrastination. If you cut out videogames entirely out of your life, you are not going to be productive all of a sudden, because you will still be addicted to procrastination. Switching hobbies is not going to help either, you will just abuse another hobby as an outlet for your laziness. In order to fight this addiction, you need to force yourself being productive. There is no other way, you literally need to sit down day after day and do shit for X hours until you feel content with your performance. The good news is that you don't actually have to drop vidya. Just treat it as any other hobby and limit your daily game time to 2-3 hours per day. Good luck.
Joseph Parker
Like any other addiction, you can't just snap away from it... Breaking the cycle won't be that simple either. You'll just have to take a good look at the cycle and see where you can make things different - do other things when you get back from work, go for a walk around the block, or even a run to the park and sit under a tree and chill to music in the evening, or don't go out, read some of those books you always said you'd start, or even write something of your own, and then when you've done that, play some games. As long as you're doing other stuff, you won't feel guilty about playing or browsing or whatever afterwards. You've just gotta work out what that other stuff is. Work at it slowly. Don't expect to pick up a new hobby straight away. Just do something new, doesn't have to be something big. Keep at it and you'll find a new hobby, and your cycle will change - no need to break it if you can fix it instead.

Dude, what in le FUCK happened to that guy's face?

Every time I play XCOM Enemy Unknown, I never stop. I can't stop scanning the globe. It's scary because of how repetitive the missions get and all tension drops when you build the Gollop chamber
Daniel Turner
You never watched The Goonies?

>MMOs >on Sup Forums hours every day
seems like your problem is the internet, not "games"
he needs to spend less time on hobbies and more time interacting with other human beings
Sebastian Reyes
It makes me sad Sup Forums didn't derail this thread immediately with posts about Troma films but this is the state of nu-Sup Forums. Gotta stay on topic now cause the mods are all newfags.
Carter Moore
it's a mask, dude
it's a character from a movie
I hope you're kidding
Mason Ross
yea >wheres my check
Carson Rivera
>work Not a problem for you then, you can spend your free time anyway you want. Now try being a useless neet who plays vidya literally all day every day, your parents, your peers, everybody despises you.
Carter Ward
I lost interest in most games just due to the content being produced. I think in a few more years I will have entirely left the demo. Not sure what I think about it. I think interactive media is cool, but I don't think there is any cool new experience to be offered and playing them is a moot point. I'm also in business school and I know my attitude towards consumers and it makes me sick realizing that's exactly who is selling games as well, puts a damper on the entire thing that I can't pull out off.
James Rodriguez
Videogames have got nothing to do with it, you live a shitty life, you have shitty pleasures.
Jonathan Green
If you really want to stop, immediately after you read this post you will break your computer beyond repair. You will find that you can't do it because you don't know what else to do with your time.
Julian Bailey
funny you say that about WoW. i played from mid BC to about last year before the new Kharazan rework dungeon. I'm still addicted, even though I now have a daughter and wife, I want to go back so badly. The game is far too addicting, no matter how bad I want to go back, I know it will ruin me again. Try finding a new job, maybe meet a girl.
Zachary Nguyen
yes
i've been pushed back 2 years of engineering because i barely study and instead play vidya
in my defense the only thing i have fuked up at is math because those assholes want you to practice with every type of problem possible and evaluate how many can you solve in the time limit, it's never about if you know how to solve it
Asher Foster
Puzzle games should of helped you on that one you lazy fuck, stop playing H games.
Josiah Robinson
It's Toxic Avenger you asshat.
Thomas Reed
Repetition is the key to establishing memory pathways. I agree with you though. I'm in my late 20's only attending school for entertainment (already got gud at life).
Practice makes perfect, but perfect won't always get you a job, good luck.
Xavier Ward
Delete everything, install limitations, consider taking your graphics card out if you have a built-in intel one. You won't though, because you're addicted.
If you do manage to do it, after about 30 days you'll feel you don't need it anymore.
Anthony Price
One way to break this cycle would be to replace video games and browsing Sup Forums entirely with reading. Force yourself to do nothing else with your free time but reading books and maybe doing some outdoors activities.
Henry Lewis
But like only for two or three months and then see how you feel when you get back to your games and your computer.
Liam Garcia
I started seeing a psychotherapist because I had no idea what else to do. He has experience working with drug and alcohol addicts and was recommended to me. He knows absolutely nothing about video games. He was worked with gambling addicts though which I think is closer.
Been a bit over a month and hes really focussed on my step father and my self-esteem. Not sure where this will go but I really want to stop.

>Inb4 he makes you thing you need a sex change

I get extremely addicted to any RPG or game that has leveling up or micromanaging. I end up spending the majority of the time I'm not playing the game, thinking about playing the game, obsessing over who to level up or what progress I want to make next time I play the game.
It gets to the point where if I'm awake at night and can't sleep I go straight to playing the game and staying up for a full night. It greatly interferes with making progress in every other aspect of my life.
The solution? Stop playing. I uninstall games I'm obsessed with and delete all the saves. If it's a physical copy then I unplug the console and put the games and console in a closet. If I think the problem is really going to return, sell them all.
There are hobbies that you can find meaningful enjoyment from, and then there are addictions which interfere in your ability to live your life to the fullest user.
As for browsing, download some website limiting extensions for chrome. Turn off your PC and when you get the urge to turn it back on, think of something else you could be doing.
Exercise, read a book, do something where you are producing something of value rather than consuming what others create.
Jason Morales
Would you permenantly free yourself from Sup Forums and video games and get your life toghether in exchange for your penis/vagina?
Julian Reed

Easton Clark
OP here Alright so I decided to throw away my desktop setup. Here is my PC chair I just left outside
Connor Walker
Ok, just a thought.
You know throwing your stuff out usually doesn't work in the long term.
Jonathan Moore
>I got hooked in WoW bad from 2004 to 2011
what a baby
you weren't around for the fucking Everquest SUPPORT GROUPS. your fine, faggot.
Lincoln Johnson
Oh, and do this now. Don't say you'll do it later or tomorrow. Do it right this second otherwise you it won't happen.
If your response to this is, "ehh what's the urgency, I'll bookmark this/write this down/keep it in mind for when I decide to start", then you have already failed. It's not fucking hard.
Make a list of things you want to do/learn/accomplish and steps to get them done. List what's keeping you from getting them done. Eliminate the things keeping you from your goals.
Josiah Cooper
Go outside into nature. Go spearfishing, it's fun as fuck swimming and looking at all the underwater life. Sometimes stingrays will follow me around asking for dead fish. Another time I came across the body of a half eaten seal, heaps of cool shit happens.
Grayson Davis
Poor bait but I'm sure it'll get some cucks
Owen Richardson
Aright desktop and chair are both out, there is no way I can play LoL anyone
Nathan Peterson

I feel like I'm actually addicted to Sup Forums, to be honest. I've been telling myself to quit this place since around 2013, but I still keep coming here way too much. I'm a NEET right now, and I often end up spending entire days on here, just lurking threads. I honestly feel like the only way for me to get my shit together is to quit Sup Forums entirely, but I can't get myself to do so.
Austin Ramirez
shit
i still remember when that was new... fuck, 2008 seems like 100 years ago and it was only fucking 10.
Brayden Torres
nigga what the fuck are you doing
Connor Myers
I started going to Sup Forums around early 2011, and to me, 2011 and 2012 still only feel like a short while ago.
Andrew Jenkins
In 2011 I went complete hermit mode and played mmos all day and night, didn't even know what time or day it was half the time. Now, I'm a wagecuck and wish I could do that again but I need money.
Ryder Gomez
do you have fun playing the game or do you play the game for fun
