I'm kinda hyped thanks to modding and Armiger Unleashed, but was disappointed in how inconsistent the demo runs on my setup (GTX970 + i5 4690k) without looking like shit.

Other than that, it's still the same FFXV with all of its charms and flaws, so I'd say 6/10 on theexcitement level.

I actually just downloaded the demo today, tried it and was still just not feeling it. It doesn't look all that much better, and the smoother framerates are not as impressive or impactful as I thought they would be, if I hadn't already play through most of the game I would maybe consider buying this one, but as it stands I just can't justify making the purchase.

I loved it on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Now, I want the ultimate experience on PC.
Especially since I can max out the settings for a 4K HDR 60fps version in UltraWide (formerly CinemaScope), 1080p 120fps or 1080p 3D 60fos.

FFXV character models have fantastic artistry but i would say graphically they aren't anything spectacular.

This is true enough, but it's to the detriment of the game because they look so out of place in the environments, the whole game has a real patchwork look to it, it's really odd, the aesthetic of the game is just not very good in general.

I'm guessing it just pre-loads more textures in that case to reduce pop-in or possibly seeing textures load. Honestly saw zero difference between high/highest and never had any texture pop-in at high.

Meh, played it on console and was very underwhelmed after chapter 8. Unless they plan on including the missing half of the game, I can't imagine it being any better on PC.

I have a single 1080Ti and I can get around 100 fps at 1440p. At 4k I can get into the 60s though, and sometimes 55-60 when everything gets really intense.

Have they updated the benchmark or something? I tried running it on my 5930k @ 4.8 with a single 1080 Ti and was hovering in the mid 40s most of the time at 4k.

All of them are garbage except Episode Ignis.

Ignis is very good, Gladio feels like filler story-wise, but it's fun to play, it has DMCish mechanics. Prompto is weird because it plays like a TPS/stealth hybrid, but it does fit nicely in the story and it lets you explore a nice little open hub at a point where in the main game you're kind of stuck in corridors.

Still waiting on them to announce if console season pass owners are stuck paying the full $20 for Royale Edition extras or not.

Ardyn is the worst-case scenario, so I'm curious as to what resolution you'd need to run XV at on PC to not notice the blatant aliasing, be it on a high resolution monitor, or downsampling from a high rez.

Honestly some FPS drops here and there don't even bother me at this point after playing it on PS4 Pro. The console versions run fucking horrible and just from what I played of the demo it completely shits on the console versions while running way better. The 60FPS mode on consoles was also a fucking joke. It didn't even come close to running a stable 60 and you were better off with the 30FPS capped modes.

There's something else it's going on in the rendering that makes it worse than 1bit mask would actually have as far as PC hardware being thrown at it would go. I don't know if it's the bloom making it stand out even worse, or the fact that transparency antialiasing by the GPU driver isn't kicking in or what. It's like it's being sampled at a lower resolution than it's actually showing as a terrible performance saving trick.
