I hope this won't merely be its swan song, but actually help reignite the interest and introduce a lot of new people to the series. The series is still criminally underrated, especially considering how From Software blew up over the last decade, but is only known for the Souls to the average gamer.

Maybe they stopped because they actually struck gold and seized the opportunity. From Software has always been making good, but niche games. By focusing on the Souls series they became a successful, well-respected and mainstream development studio, there was no reason for them to continue on AC if we're talking about finances.

Not that guy, but I also love 4A while personally preferring games like 2 or 3 on the ps2. I think they took the game in the right direction with the new games, making them fast and flashy.
