It slows down performance especially on lower end machines. Ironically by existing it makes a pirated version more appealing

Just play puyo. You're going to lose against competent tetris players regardless of what game you play, but as long as you aren't getting your shitter pounded in by repeated t-spin triples you can definitely win with puyo

Port is awful. Most people who already had it seem to be sticking to the switch version, but that's also calmed down significantly since launch.

Also, pc already has free tetris games.

I think many people bought it for either tetris or puyo and they need some time to practice one of them a bit before heading online.
At least that's what I'm doing.

There's 2 bugs, only one of which affects actual gameplay. ONE.

What even are they? I've only noticed audio bus so far, but I also haven't played any of the previous versions.

If they fix the matchmaking, great. That's the most important issue.
However, if they don't fix all the audio problems I'll still call the port bad.

When playing online, you'll still get matched into game modes you filtered out, like did
So if you hate Fusion and untick it in your options, you'll still end up playing fusion online

there's appearenty a bug with filtering which gamemodes you want in matchmaking at the moment.
The audio bugs were probably introduced due to the dual audio option and should probably not be hard for them to fix.

I get ranked matches instantly before the loading screen message even appears, but a lot of the time there aren't any rooms open, or there's a single room with some twat with a poor connection. not a fan of room systems

It's like that on console too. If you want to play in a 4p room you pretty much have to do it with friends or make a post online (like right here) asking people to play. Ranked is more convenient so it's all anyone does.

I agree that there shouldn't be any bugs but when I hear "awful port" I think batman arkham knight or watch dogs, which crashed and barely ran at all to begin and had countless of bugs.

This is everything I've had happen to me, or have seen in videos/streams

>Characters not speaking at all (only had this happen with japanese voices enabled)
>Characters having the wrong character's voice (only seen with japanese audio)
>Sound effects getting skipped or not looping when they're supposed to (most noticeable in big bang and swap)
>Songs not looping at the proper point

In the console versions at 2:16 it loops back to the 6 second mark, as you can hear in this video. On PC it stops at 2:16 and starts back at 0 seconds and repeats the intro, which doesn't flow together at all and sounds really jarring. Almost every song I've played with in multiplayer had this issue

At a 7 or higher chain, yes. But I didn't mean that kind of repetition. I meant them saying the same line twice for a single chain. Although, I'm pretty sure that one happened during a lag spike. Everything else happens regularly and I would like them to fix it.

The 3ds port is definitely worse. It doesn't have the weird audio issues but it lags heavily even in single player.

How does online regions work in this game?
If I set my region correctly, does it completely rule out any other region? It'd be nice if it'd prioritize the set region but go for others if it couldn't find any players there, rather than divide the playerbase.

It doesn't really try to prioritize by region. It's just so you have a regional rank.

I'm happy that I can play both Tetris and Puyo Puyo on my PC, but I'm not touching online with a ten feet pole, at least not in the foreseeable future. I'm too stupid to do anything beyond a 2-chain through sheer luck.

A youtube tutorial helped me learn how to do 9+ combos in puyo. Specifically one called "GTR", but that might not be for absolute beginners. Still it's worth checking out.

You think you're joking, but that's actually true for the lower levels. I used to mock the puyo players for even trying to fight against me on the 3ds version, but as soon as I played the nerfed version, both switch and pc, I am scared shitless at the mere sight of a 3000+ ranked one.

Enjoy the active online while you can, PC bros. I've played the PS4 and Switch versions, now that time has passed, only 5 people play the game and you get your ass whooped if you're not a world-famous player.

I've always loved Puyo, since Kirby's Avalanche. I'm still fucking shit and don't get how to fucking play though. Not asking how to get better, but what was the thing that clicked it all together for you guys?

Playing endurance mode against the computer in solo arcade mode really helped.

It's a little different than player v player but it's a lot less frustrating and you still learn.

I really like Ben Diskin as a VA. I'm fully willing to believe that his lackluster performance was a result of the voice direction or something, especially considering how off some of the other characters are.

The Switch version is honestly the best version until they patch the PC port.

Something's buggy, immediately after release there would be literally no one in the online free play lobbies. 0-3 rooms max, which is just silly. It would say "zero players online". Just bugs. People were on but not displaying properly.

You shouldn't beg for art so much. It's bad form.
