It's funner giving it a second chance now that nobody's memeing about this anymore.

I could only get so far into the first one. XIII is easily the worst final fantasy game. I didnt even bother with its sequels.
I kinda want a pocket edition

I rented it long ago on gamefly and sent it back the next day.
I'm already farther than 20 year old me.
FXIII deserved to have a more fleshed out setting. The paradigm system is one of the best FF combat systems. It keeps the ATB spirit, but instills a stronger puzzle game on top of it. Perfectly switching paradigms at the right time to take advantage of a break, or build up a stagger always felt good. Much better than some other combat systems, that feel just like playing a menu
Are there good waifus?
Emperor best villain
No matter how many years go by, it will always be a shit game.
FFXIII is serviceable in pretty much every aspect except combat, which it does pretty well. It can get a bit repetitive on standard mobs but it really shines on more difficult bosses/endgame content.
FFXIII-2 is an improvement on nearly every aspect of XIII except its story is infinitely dumber.
FFXIII-3 is an amazing game that people don't bother with because of its branding. It was originally a Valkyrie Profile game before Square shoehorned in Lightning. The combat, pacing, challenge(on the right difficulty), and side content is the best in the series. The plot is dumber than both combined, so just sit back and wait til you get to that wild final boss.

>Funner
She's perfect.
Honestly I thought Lighting Return was the worst out of the trilogy. My favorite was XIII-2, at least the combat was a bit more fun and I enjoyed Noel and Sarah's adventure together. I just couldn't get into Lightning's Return, even though the concept of changing outfits and what not was kind of cool. I just couldn't get into it.
Other than the first I agree with everything you said. FFXIII is really unforgivable except for maybe graphics and music.
Glad someone mentioned it. "Funner" is not a word. You should have said "It's MORE fun giving it a second chance."

>Autistic lesbian
>Shitty English dub voice
I'm good.
Unless you get to take that ridiculous sweater-skirt off and peek at the ass, no she's not.

here ya go
She’s the only good character in the entire game. Although a lotta people apparently hated her.
13 wasn't as bad as people pretended, but it did itself a really bad disservice in that it showcased they knew how to make the game "Good" in the final 3 chapters when the game opens up and lets you free-roam the surface of Gran Pulse. That's the best part of the game by obscene margins. The entire rest of the game being utterly on-rails is made to look silly and poorly executed by them showcasing within the same title that they knew exactly how to actually make the design work.
13-2 addressed a lot of the big complaints of the first title, but also introduced some things I didn't like, such as the pokemon-esque monster management and a lack of a real cast. It was, however, the best game in the trilogy as it overall fixed so much of what was wrong in 13-1, and didn't have the terrible choices and designs of 13-3.
13-3 was a god awful abomination purely on the basis of being a JRPG with a time restriction mechanic overlayed on the whole game. Want to freely explore the towns? GET FUCKED TOO BAD LOL TICK TOCK NIGGA DAYS COMING TO A CLOSE. Yes, the mechanic can be managed through timestop and careful combat/choosing when to do things. But the mechanic even existing is such an overwhelming detriment to overall game quality and the pace of an RPG that I could never give this game anything above a 3/10.
13 is a 6/10
13-2 is a 7.5/10
13-3 is a 3/10
Did you just play it one time and drop it or have you actually beaten it/played it a few times? The first time I played it I got to Gran Pulse and was just not enjoying it. I replayed it a month ago and fucking around with the paradigm and weapon/accessory systems turned out to be pretty entertaining, especially during the post game. I enjoyed it so much I autistically ground out all the achievements.
"no way, fag"
Try playing XIII-3 again, the time limit seems extremely restrictive at first, but if you give it a chance you'll figure out that it's really easy to do everything, including side quests, within the allotted time without chronostasis, and still have a good chunk of spare time leftover.
One playthrough was enough to last me a lifetime. I was struggling to finish it. Awful experience. Backgrounds were nice though. Too bad you couldn't experience them though since the whole game is hallways.
I finished it 3 times and just recently platinum'd it along with the sequels. Fantastic trilogy
>can literally New Game+ forever, permanently increasing your stats
>still sucks at game
kys kthxbai
>you can put a lot of effort to make the game similar to a non time limited game
What's the point for this mechanic then? Fuck the player up? You can get screwed and not do everything you want in the game, or you can make an innecesary effort to make the game playable as any other game.
this game looks so good. I'm waiting for the eventual PS4 trilogy port. It must happen
The time management mechanics in 13-3 aren't as bad as you say they are. On my first playthrough I was worried about that shit but during the same playthrough I realized how much extra time is provided to you in game. I ended up with one more extra day than needed and just fucked around in some optional dungeon till during that final day.
What I meant is that despite the mechanic being there, there really is no effort you need to put into it to be able to complete everything in a timely manner. The only possible way that you would run out of time is if you literally just walk in circles doing nothing.
You don't get screwed, you get stronger with each playthrough. It's not that bad as you might think. Just chill out and don't stress about the time
Lightning returns was the best of the 3 imo. You sound like you never really played longer than an hour
