So they are going to lose their shirt on this, right? I've never seen a Spyro thread get 100 replies, let alone make it to the bump limit.

>lose their shirt
Hey as long as they don't lose their pants hyuk hyuk

>Activision
Who cares?

this, the crash remake was pretty mediocre and spyro is a lot harder to get right

>believing a tranny's lies

>I've never seen a Spyro thread get 100 replies, let alone make it to the bump limit.

That's on you, I can remember a specific two week period around a year or two ago where there was a new spyro thread every day that hit the bump limit, and threads still pop up and usually do well. Anons will dump sky boxes as people talk about the games, it's one of the more consistent thread progressions for a series on Sup Forums.

I remember that, didn't it keep using that statue that was getting produced and sold as merch as an OP?

>Spyro thread get 100 replies
You haven't been here long, have you?
I've seen at least 3 Spyro threads hit 150 replies this year alone.

Eh

Wrong. Crash Remakes is great

all they need to do is remaster this bad boy

Shut the fuck up

it's worse than the original with wonkier physics

you know i'm right

It's fucking Spyro, they'll have so many shirts it's gonna be sick

>I've never seen a Spyro thread get 100 replies, let alone make it to the bump limit.

Sometimes it gets 100+ posts, sometimes it just gets ignored, and sometimes it gets deleted because a fucko posts the subway image

Why do you have to lie? I really want to know what you get out of being a blabbering retard contrarian? Does it make you feel important? Are you doing it to get the attention no one in real life gives you? It's been confirmed eons ago that the physics are slightly not the same as the originals, claiming they are big time different is downright lie.

>It's been confirmed eons ago that the physics are slightly not the same as the originals
whut

The physics are worse, it's easily proven if you bounce on the edge of a crate and watch crash gradually slip off (doesn't happen in any of the originals), or how your momentum is far slower - the point were certain chains of wumpa fruit cannot be gathered in one go unlike in the originals.

I genuinely found the combat in these games to be somewhat enjoyable as you could use breath attacks during melee combos.

I would knock enemies in the air, do som air combos, then do that kick launch that sends them across the room while shooting them with a fire ball just as they get kicked. It would do crazy amounts of damage to them, set them on fire, and because they are on fire, will set any enemies they come into contact with.

Surprisingly, there is some depth in the combat, but eternal night kinda limited all the neat tricks you can do and was strangely very difficult for a kids game.

Dawn of the dragon is an okay coop game.

If you've ever played a platforming game in your life then you'd know that a slight difference is a big difference, especially in a game like Crash that requires a lot of precision. And changing Crash's hitbox to be pill shaped is a big fuckin' difference, it causes you to slide off of the edge of platforms faster than you slid into your shitty, unfulfilling life.

A game about jumping that has fucked up jumping is a bad game.

I've been replaying 2 and 3 once every year, do I wait for the remakes now?

Only the first game was good. Unless they remake all the shit-tier mini-games in 2 & 3 they might as well not bother.

2 > 1

ya big gay, 1 objectively had some of the best level design, but suffered because it had the worst movement system

2 and 3 felt far better to play and are generally more enjoyable because of it.

2 is the best because of double jump though

I found all 3 of the Legend of Spyro games at a thrift store awhile back and still haven't played them yet. Are they worth a go?

>worst movement system
Nigger what? Aside from swimming the only difference is slightly higher ledges.

1, as I have said earlier, has some interesting combat. You can do fairly interesting combos with your breath attacks in combination with your melee attacks. But there is little to no enemy variety at all.

eternal night does enemy variety better, and the inclusion of slowing time allows for interesting combat and serviceable puzzles. The breaths are more interesting and varied, while a new beginning made them all roughly a "do damage in front of you with a special effect depending on the breath", this game changes how they function completely. Lightning is a giant ass ball you can knock around and detonate, ice is a grenade of sorts, fire is a basic spray, and earth is a fucking green flail you can swing around and smash things. Interesting for sure, but it does not integrate well with melee combos. This game is also pointlessly hard, but I kind of like it for that reason. Do not expect fair difficulty though.

Dawn of the dragon is a fun coop game, and an okay single player experience. Coop is fun as you can combine breath attacks that synergize well. Using an ability that draws enemies near while spyro uses an electric ball pulse, for example, is a good combo. The tether that ties spyro to cynder can get annoying, and doing the actual puzzles can be confusing as what you are supposed to do to progress feels like you are exploiting the game to skip a section at times, simply because of how the devs designed the game. you will understand it when you play a part that does this, it will feel very off.

all in all,

new beg>dawn(coop)>dawn(single)=eternal night

>replay spyro 1 recently
>that fucking camera
How the fuck did I tolerate this before? shit's nigh unplayable

Spyro has a weight issue in the first game, nothing he does feels like it has weight. Gliding is also stiffer and that hover makes traversing feel better as well, even if it is not required to use in most glides in spyro 2 and 3.

Though I miss doing strafe rolls in 2 and 3.

Did they confirm it?

>I can't press a triangle every now and then

You can press both the camera buttons at the same time to center it. Makes life a little easier.

Thanks user. I'll probably give them a shot since I need something to tide me over until (hopefully) the remakes drop.

tfw you were too stupid to know to run backwards on a charge ramp in tree tops too 100% it

>tfw you can just restart the level to follow the green egg thief and he shows you the path

You are welcome, I am autistic for those games. I know they are not the best, but I enjoy them and put many many hours into them as a little shit.

Just know that lightning alt ability in a new beginning is fucking great CC and the earth primary will fucking blow anything down. God it was the most cathartic thing to get that earth breath.

thanks my dude that's really good to know, if I ever knew that in the past my memory of it has been lost to the ages
does triangle also center the camera if you press it while moving or something? I thought all it did was give you the over the shoulder psuedo first person view thing if you stood still

so is ladyalt69 the chrischan of the spyro fanbase?

I hope the music for the first game doesn't change too much.
youtube.com/watch?v=JCdXPNcvVJc

>mfw I figured out how to get to the faraway platform in Haunted Towers

I hope it doesn't change much for all 3 games.

Post best music

spyro? more like zzzzzzzzpyro

Every time I play that level, I get stumped for a bit.

If I'm being honest, I can't see them doing the art style or music any justice, it relies to much on the low poly dreamlike feel to just update it graphically.

exactly this

Spyro is playstation babby shit, just like crash. The only one of those platformers woth a shit is medievil.

...

No need to get snippy, you'll be getting your comeuppance soon enough

...

How do I get DarkSydePhil to play spyro 2 and 3? Does he take donations?

If the original music is not in it untouched, then its gonna be shit.

I've never seen a series crash and burn as fast as Spyro did. Right after the Trilogy Crash got

>A racing game
>The gba games
>Wrath of Cortex that wasn't half the abortion Enter the Dragonfly was
>Crash Bash

Meanwhile the creators of Spyro pretty much admitted that 3 was just an excuse for an Agent 9 game (Which eventually became Ratchet)

>muh "we cant do anything else with a character without usable hands"

Isn't this one is a remake of the shitty psp version?

What sort of subway image?

>I've never seen a series crash and burn as fast as Spyro did
Spyro got 3 good games. It could be worse, he could be Viewtiful Joe or something, there are a lot of game series out there that shit the bed after the very first game.

youtube.com/watch?v=6Kc2gGycBXc

I will be buying it

Eh, a Hero's tail was fine (Except for that Spyro Voice actor, what the fuck was that?). Certainly better than Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity.

Ahh no

It's not like the physics of the original game were good to begin with.

The physics being worse than the originals doesn't detract them being good games.

Did you finish them?

>It's not like the physics of the original game were good to begin with.
wrong.

Speaking of remakes, is the Crash remake worth 25€? It's currently discounted on the euro psn.

Guess I'll elaborate;

I only have one problem with the 'physics' in the first game, namely what happens in webm related. None of the other games behave like this and it urks me to no end.

If the physics were that big of an issue in the remakes then I wouldn't have gotten platinum relics on every level. But I adjusted and got used to it.

100%

that is a fucking bargain user

don't

it's still playable in the remake, just better in the originals (except arguably 1) so why bother with the remake?

Flame is clearly the best of the isometric games, but which between Ice and Rhynocs is the worst?

okay people purple baby cartoony dragons aren't cool, cause if they were than that one my little pony would be cool

Why people have a hard on for this gay shit is beyond me. PURPLE DRAGGON

i personally can't wait

Platinum relics I spose?

I guess in my region they play at 5 FPS more than the originals too. I could play either at my leisure but I think I'd play the remakes over the originals to be honest.

Because Spyro is cool and you're just an autistic shitposter

I thought we were talking about Spyro physics

announcement sometime this month, almost there, could be this week, next week, who knows

Because 1-3 were great games that take a lot of people here back to their childhoods. Like what Minions are for your babby soyboy generation.

Lmao, in that case I think the physics in all three spyro games are nothing special, maybe hampered down by the retarded camera controls that will hopefully be fixed in the remakes.

A remake of Spyro 1 can only fuck it up, I don't expect anything of value. 2 and 3 doesn't matter, those games have stupid shit to begin with, a remake could even make them less unbearable.

See i'll be sad when it's remade and they didn't keep the double jump. Which now means it also gets to break 1 and 3.

3 also has a lot of cool ideas that play pretty shit (Bently comes to mind) so hopefully a remake/master will speed him up a bit.

STOP INTERJECTING IN COMMENT THREADS YOU HAVENT BEEN FOLLOWING

Well I mean I can't blame IG for wanting out. They knew they were done with the series and at least had the sense to know it, instead of continuing on with progressively worse titles. As an aside it is absolutely amazing how good IG used to be, knocking it out of the park in 2 consecutive console generations, and producing 2 mascot characters from it. Shame how far they have fallen.

Flame might be the best but I found it rather underwhelming, also really hated the music.

Of course even the best isn't that good, maybe slightly above average for a GBA game, but I'd still say it's worth playing.

Music wasn't that spectacular true, sorta like the boss theme though.

youtube.com/watch?v=NK_dJiVAYd4

Every time I replay I forget the charge route to take on that level, same as haunted towers

I tried flying around the side of Molten Crater in 3 not realising that 2/3 doesn't expect you turn the levels upside down for 100%.

Which is kind of sad, but also grateful.
