When was the last time you had fun?

When was the last time you had fun?
I feel like I play games just because I have been doing for the past 14 years and have no actual hobbies.

games are not the same anymore, they are made to appeal to everyone. Instead making games for nerds who like playing video games.

The problem is easy difficulty and overall directing in modern gaming. No kidding. I've recently picked Styx: Master of Shadows and Haydee and it revitalized my love for vidya (and certainly not because of thicc of the latter).
Modern gaming has no thinking involved, rarely good designed open structure and story is trying to go always on 1st plane. It's not fun at all when you progress.

Also - anybody knows some different difficult games where thinking is also required?

I'm over 30 years old. The trick is to get into autistic videogames because the mainstream shit is hopelessly diluted crap for casual retards.

And then you can always get into programming. It's like the ultimate video game.

What do you play, sir?

Probably your taste changed. Or take a break
I dropped every single game i played during 2015/2016
Then I found ELEX and Kingdom come and im playing a lot of hours again. And both are eurotrash, i just dont know why im enjoying them so much.

Playing Kingdom Come has been more fun than I've had in years

Well. I played Rocket league yesterday and i had fun. The thing is when i don't have fun anymore, i stop.

I still have fun playing videogames

Well its not like I dont have fun but I think everytime I play games its a good time. However, even though I already played it to completion like 10 years ago, I downloaded Megaman Battle Network 1 like a week ago and im actually having a blast, didnt expect to have this much fun, now im planning on playing them all.

Fake fun.

Yesterday beating some optional bosses in XB2.

Not fake though, I start playing and what feels like 30 minutes turns out to be 8 hours of gameplay. Great stuff.

I had the same feel for a few months, it happens every few years until you find something that makes you love video games again. I actually had that feeling for a few months up until last month, then Monster Hunter came and I've been in love ever since.

fpbp

Filling out time cause I can't think of anything better to do. I don't like games, least not like the last hundred I've bought.

Fun things are fun

Step it up pussy

Very recently desu, when I discovered the Yakuza series around november

Wrong.
Look at old games:
Basically, they're like 95% trash with the gems of yore (shit like Goldeneye, Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Half-Life 2, Morrowind, Gothic, etc) aging like milk and having dogshit gameplay.
What changed for the worse is the rocket thrust of game evolution from gens 1-7 is gone where literally every year games were improving in leaps and bounds.
Games have stalemated.

Gravity rush 1 and 2.
Last time i had fun.

if you pirate games it is a cheap pastime

> 2018
> paying for any AAA titles

I just installed Arcane Dimensions mod for Quake 1 yesterday and it brought a smile to my face. The level design in that expansion is ridiculous. You have tons of secrets and in the end everything connects with everything else and verticality is used a lot. You never feel like walking down a hallway and you have constant urge to explore every corner. Theres like 100+ levels and it even improves on the base game by adding few more enemies, weapnos and destructable environment that makes looking out for secrets even more fun.

Yeap so many old games are just as bad as current games. You just think they were great because you were a literal childbrain back then. You are not in that audience anymore and it can be difficult to find games that cater to you. People also tend to call every indie game trash... There just happens to be a lot of them. Doesn't mean they're all worthless.

Super Mario Odyssey provided me the fun I've been missing since 2015.
