I played the original Assassins Creed back in the day and enjoyed it, but played nothing since. Is the series worth getting back into? Is it just a shitty item fetching game? Worth it purely for exploration?
I played the original Assassins Creed back in the day and enjoyed it, but played nothing since...
Black Flag is the only one really worth playing
I replayed AC2 and Brotherhood for the first time last year and it has aged rather well imo. Climbing around and collecting shit is as fun as ever. Don't know about AC1 though
Oh OP, you are silly. Assassin's Creed 2 starts off questionable, but it becomes superior to AC1 in almost every way. AC4 is good, but it's more focused on having fun and not being too challenging.
2 is great because Venice and Florence were mapped with loving detail Brotherhood is also cool in that you build up your own league of assassins. Rome is also mapped well. As much as I love Constantinope/Istanbul, the gameplay gets pretty stale in Revelatons since its the same thing, but with smoke bombs.
Never played the others but I've only ever heard good things about Black Flag.
>Is the series worth getting back into?
No.
I recommend playing AC2 and Brotherhood atleast. If you like Ezio and Altair's story then you can't miss Revelations either.
After that you can stop. However, if you have this itch to play AC in general, try Black Flag, Rogue and Origins too.
came here to post this
>AC2
great
>AC:Brotherhood
nice
>Revelations
eh, but solid
>3
fairly shit WHERES CHARLES LEE
>black flag
surprisingly good
>rogue
great
>unity
good luck running it in normal fps
>syndicate
not tried
>origins
fairly good so far, I'm like 2h in
the ezio trilogy (2-brotherhood-revelations) are a blast, ac3 is generally considered terrible (i liked it) and ac4 is a really good spin on the gameplay. if you like ac4, play Rogue, if you want more ships. unity has an interesting story and the best parkour, syndicate is bland compared to all the other games. origins would be video game kino if not for the lootbox shit.
Pretty much this. I have played Syndicate and it's basically a messy inbetween of Unity and the older games. AC2, Brotherhood and 4/Rogue are the highlights of the series and 3 is an embarrassment.
play these OP you retarded turd
AC 2
AC brotherhood
AC revelations (this one just to complete ezio's story)
Black flag
Origins
Give Unity and Syndicate a try only if you like the ass creed formula after playing ezio trilogy.
Have fun
>lootbox shit.
can you tell me how lootboxes matter in any fuckin way in origins? because they don't
i finished origins just a few days ago and i dont know what the fuck hes talking about either
they ruin the collective aspect of an open world game, notably how the rad endgame armor you can get has two weapons locked behind rng lootboxes. it’s not intrusive to the core gameplay but its a serious stab at completionists.
Origins is kino.
It really has been overshadowed by the we wuz kangs bullshit but the game (after the patches) is really fun and the world is huge
I remember how excited I was about AC3 because I liked the setting, and early on playing as Haytham was a nice twist
then you get to play as Connor and the game takes a dive
which weapons are you talking about? as far as I know you can get every single piece of items without lootboxes and yes I finished the game
If you can pick up AC2 and the "expansions" for cheap then get them.
Also AC4
Ignore all the others.
Rogue is basically a better AC4 ya ding-dong diddly simp
it's good, but it's really not
it's the same shit but with a worse coat of paint, shorter and with a dumbass story
Hi Kenway!
fuck off cormac
Assassin's Creed
Mind-blowing when it was first released on computers. The graphics were incredible, and the gameplay was fun. In comparison to the later releases, it feels too bare bones.
Assassin's Creed 2
Starts off very slow, and even in the middle of the game, kind of drags on. Once you get access to the villa, and can free roam between cities, it becomes fantastic.
Assassin's Creed:Brotherhood
Only play if you loved AC2. If you loved MGS V's mother base, you will like this.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations
This is where people started to question the quality and motivations of Ubisoft.
Assassin's Creed 3
Interesting lore, but there is just too many changes, and everything feels poor/sloppy.
Assassin's Creed: Liberation
More of 3, but a heck of a lot shorter.
Assassin's Creed: Black Flag
It's fantastic. Mainly due to a lot of quality of life improvements, such as falling from heights and not instantly dying. Cool story, but certain maps can be confusing/frustrating.
Assassin's Creed: Rogue
Pretty cool for a spin-off. Killing Assassins felt pretty damn good.
Assassin's Creed: Unity
For as amazing as the graphics are, the gameplay is disaster level. Enemies magically find you from a mile away, and no amount of skill can prevent three soldiers from killing you.
Assassin's Creed: Syndicate
A massive step up from Unity. Skill can get you incredibly far, but the story is so damn boring. You can power-level and liberate all of London (recommended) in the time it takes to get nowhere in the story.
Assassin's Creed: Chronicles
These games were really bad. It's insulting that they were asking for full retail price at one point.
Assassin's Creed: Origins
Beautiful graphics, very cool gameplay, but where is the story? The handful of characters the game has doesn't even try to hide the fact that they will turn on you.
I like Rogue but 4 had a MUCH better story and cast of characters. Edward is a great protagonist while Rogue is stuck with "Eye make muh own lohck!"
I've been the same as you, but last year I went down and played every single one of them. And what people said was right: AC2&4 are the only ones worth playing.
And now Origins as well. Go with these three and when you're not tired, try the shit ones.
Where were you when Japan got confirmed?
Why does the logo have a hipster mustache?
because its fanart
