Eversion genuinely creeped me out when I first played it, mainly because it's so minimalistic in how it delivers its horror. No elaborate pasta, no fancy effects, no big setup. Just a crumbling world for the player to explore and scare themselves to death with.

This was a genuinely unsettling scene in an otherwise meh movie, so kudos to them for that. Of course they immediately ruin it with 'lol maybe her soul fused with the bear when she died' as the explaination instead of just 'it tears out your vocal cords to lure that species in', but retroactive ruining of the scene aside it was spoopy when it happened.
The Portman isn't awful in any of her appearances, hell she even tried her hardest in Star Wars where literally nobody could make the material workable. If anything I'd say the movie is let down by the substandard supporting cast and the complete lack of chemistry she has with her husband.

Doesn't raise any moral or philosophical questions, teach you anything, etc. Its just spooky for the sake of spooky, and while that isn't awful in a fun horror movie, it also is one of the weakest kinds of horror.

I'm annoyed you have to give props for this kind of shit, but props to the movie for doing this shit right. Pretty much this. I'm fine with ambiguous endings in sci-fi with films like 2001 or books like Ubik, but despite being ambiguous they're still satisfying, they have some sense of closure and the theme behind the story has already been communicated and developed to some extent. In Annihilation, it just shows you a bunch of stuff and then ends, which is not all that surprising considering it had to give a sudden ending to the adaptation of a book that was only the introduction of a trilogy, but still.

So you didn't watch the trailer then? It's quite clearly an all female expedition from what little promotional material there is. Film posters are nothing but females too. You'd have to be a complete retard to see any of the promotional material and still expect the film to feature any males in prominent roles.
They could have hyped the absolute shit out of the all female cast and that wouldn't have made the movie any worse. And Ghostbuster's promotional material is not what made that movie shit.

The game is about Satan walking around hallways displaying examples of the most corrupt acts of humankind. Humans are far more sadistic than Satan himself, which makes him sad. The game flashes images of child porn, gore, and various disturbing imagery. It puts child porn onto your computer and installs malware. But a lot of what I mentioned has been stripped out of the game since by users.
