Games you didn't enjoy at all

but still ended up playing hours and hours of it hoping it would get better or just getting your money's worth

>but still ended up playing hours and hours of it hoping it would get better or just getting your money's worth

Literally every ARPG

Path of Exile is pretty good

wildlands

>forced to buy same setup every game
>no variety unlike kf1

Pretty much your pic related. Just can't enjoy Torchlight 2 for some reason. Actually ended up loving PoE, but it's really not beginner friendly at all, since some builds start at lvl 60-70, and beginners aren't patient enough.

The Evil Within 2. Used a trainer near the end just to get it over with. What boring shite

Attached: 1527593736056.jpg (487x432, 49K)

Well I didn't entirely hate it, the only thing that kept me playing was the hunting challenges. I only played the garbage story missions with garbage writing and garbage gameplay to unlock the later areas so I could continue hunting. Once I completed the hunting challenges, I just stopped playing entirely.

Attached: Red_Dead_Redemption.jpg (284x350, 25K)

It didn't get better though, it got worse and worse and worse. Especially the story was complete bat-shit that turned into a 5 year old first written story. I still don't quite understand how people can like it, except for playing blitzball, everything felt like a chore.

Dragon Quest 7 3DS

I'm fucking retarded cause I spent about 75 hours in that fucking game hoping it would become something better than average.

>75 hours
jesus wept

your best bro picks pussy over you.

I shouldve seen the signs

I disagree. I have more fun with Diablo 3 and i'm self-aware of how disgusting that is. Everything about PoE just bores me though and I feel it's more shallow than D3. D3 is shallow, but it's up front about it. PoE hides behind the illusion of it's vast skill tree, but everybody will still tell you to look up a build because certain mechanics are introduced late.

They tell you to look up builds because they're faggots with no imagination. If you do this you are indeed playing a shallow as fuck game.

Half the game is theorycrafting. The other half is levelling until you can play your build. Then maybe enjoy it for 10 minutes and start over.

I wouldn't say I had no fun with it, but MGSV. Played 94 hours of that thing and I feel almost no emotional attachment to it what so ever. I barely remember having played it at all.

Also Warframe.

Zelda Breath of the Wild. Game is boring and looks like a washed out 70's cartoon.

To my shame, Godus. I really thought it would turn into a revamped PtB. After 30 something hours, I realised it never would. God fucking damn it.

I am disgusted by you.

Europa Universalis 4.
580 hours wasted on that trash game

I really wanted to like it too, but it became such a slog to play that I couldn't stand to play more than a couple hours at a time.

Persona 4

Clocked in 120 hours. Wanted to see what is all the fuss about since Sup Forums seems to have a boner for that game.

far cry 2, bioshock infinite, fallout3.
Only played them to completion so that I could confidently argue my case of them being bad.

I really liked Torchlight 1 and was kind of excited starting up Torchlight 2. It was so bad. The world building, the huge levels, the boring grind. It's as if they tried to make Diablo 2 but only focused on the bad parts of it.

I don't know if it was because I played on hard but I feel like there was some pretty hefty powercreeping going on. If an enemy was just 2 levels above me he'd shred my melee dude

Just couldn't see the appeal.

>no console version
is that game worth it

ff6

it's dry and has no charm, earthbound and chrono trigger both hold up a lot better

you fell for a meme to be honest d e s u

funny how it all started as a prank because of the difficulty and the retard journalism adopted like it was quality

Sadly enough it took me many hours over even more months to get into Dark Souls. But when I got hooked I realized it's one of the greatest games ever.

You raise some numbers to effectively raise some other numbers
It's a good timekiller but I wouldn't really call it fun

Mass effect 1, MGS 5, Night in the Wood, Bayonneta, Uncharted 3/4, Bioshock Infinite, Superhot...

God, I love Torchlight II. It really scratches the itch that Diablo doesnt really scratch. I don't know what it is about the game, but I absolutely love it. Modding it up makes it even better. Get mods for more chunks, different roaming bosses, more pets, and better visuals. It is such a fun game to play modded. Think like Skyrim, but the base game is basically good anyways.

Yo Skyrim sucked. I'd rather blowjob a tiny transvestite penis than play anymore of that.

I remember reading a review like a year ago saying the tutorial was too fucking long. When I finally played through this game a few weeks ago, I remember thinking around the 4 hour mark "huh, this game was pretty short but the tutorial was only like 15 minutes".

So, then the tutorial ended and the rest of this steaming pile of shit played out and I hated every second of it fuck this game.

Attached: shit.jpg (800x800, 87K)

When did you play Mass Effect?

Some games are like that, it takes a couple tries to get into them.
15 hours is enough for a playthough though, what happened?

Attached: buyers_remorse.png (270x113, 44K)

How did you manage to keep this game up an running for 16 hours?

Around the pc launch and last year, why

Because I loved it when it came out but when I tried to replay it last year I pretty much hated it

we need a support group. Getting Brink'd is the most traumatic experience I've ever had in gaming. I can never trust a dev again

Attached: brink.jpg (268x102, 15K)

yo you guys wanna play

I had about 12 -15 hours of failed attempts to get into the game, about 3 or 4 reinstalls and attempts worth only ever getting to like the taurus demon or parish.

Then one time i reinstalled it, pushed myself to get invested more - cared about what I did, read everything - found myself making it up to the gargoyles, then at that point it all just clicked and i was on the road to too many hundreds of hours invested in the series.

Doom 3.

Botw

Didn't enjoy Doom 3
Enjoyed Resurrection of Evil
Enjoyed Quake 4
I don't know what's wrong with me

Same

Attached: shadowwarrior.jpg (387x112, 23K)

Metal Gear Survive.

What an empty, pointless, dull piece of shit that turned out to be.

Attached: mgs.jpg (802x109, 22K)

>What an empty, pointless, dull piece of shit that turned out to be.
Same could be said for MGSV.

Attached: meh.png (388x155, 79K)

Just gotta let you know, I really don't appreciate you being foreign.

MGSV had great gameplay.

Survive is just a (poor) rehash and re-purpose of what was made previously.

do you remember when you quit playing user? I did after you come back for the first time to your hideout(?)

>

Attached: memories.jpg (720x695, 60K)

those are tears of self loathing and pity not of nostalgia

Shovel knight
Music isn't even that good. It was just slogging trough themed trite because oooh eer its the new meme game on the block look how much it steals from games limited by technology. And everything that wasn't gameplay was cringeworthy as fuck.

Still beat it and the dlc

Wait what?
The tutorial is just 15 minutes long what are you talking about?

I think it was the level after that, but I really can't remember much about it. Only that it felt like I was playing for a lot longer than 110 minutes.

Everything up to the first liberation rite is a tutorial.

What, no.
That's the first half of the game, which is why the rest of the rites are getting shorter.
That's like saying the entirety of a megaman game against the robots are just a tutorial, fighting willeys castle being the true game.

Sure yeah its okay to think this niche VN of a game is shit but don't lie about it.

DoW3

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 65K)

I started playing it last week because I got it as a PS+ title. After the hour plus where you're confined to a hospital bed or literally crawling on the ground all I can think is that people played it due to Stockholm syndrome.

I mean, did we really need five separate scenes of soldiers about to shoot Snake, and then the flame chick shows up and kills them and you fight the fire demon?

Dragons Dogma, I don't get the praise it gets. 30 hours all up but it was mostly frustrating, dealing with the bad ai of the pawns and enduring the most boring quests, setting and writing imaginable. the monsters and promise of it being great kept me around, but I can't go on anymore, simply don't have it in me.

also Thief 4, felt like I had to so I can properly justify accurately why it's so bad and feel confident knowing I endured it.

Attached: 1521639818223.jpg (512x384, 21K)

Spec Ops: the Line for me. While story was somewhat interesting, i think it is pointless in the videogame? And it was done already? Adn it was just mediocre 3rd person shooter

Okami

Yeah, DD feels like one of the times Sup Forums lied to me. I got it and just hated it desu, thought it was utterly mediocore.

is this what autists actually believe?

Chrono Trigger
The Witcher 1
Mass Effect
Night in the Woods
Ys 1

>Chrono Trigger

how old are you out of curiosity?

If you're young i can understand it, but if you're a older, 25+ I guess, player then idk how you couldn't get on with CT.

I don't know what to tell you, up to the first liberation rite the game is just drizzling mechanics and characters on you before finally opening up. Buy an item from Falcon Ron (I think this happens multiple times), field Ti'zo, field Pametha, learn how to use Sir Gilman, learn how to fucking aura-cast with the moon-touched girl. Are there more instances of railroading? I don't remember. This was annoying and CLEARLY meant to teach the player specific mechanics when compared to what you're calling the second half of the game.

For what it's worth, the VN was the only part of this that actually worked.

Attached: 1472356061970.jpg (540x360, 78K)

I finally realized that I don't like this game very much

Attached: Steam_2018-03-23_17-05-47.png (255x109, 45K)

I tried playing Path of Exile for a long time despite not enjoying it at all. It wasn't to get my moneys wroth, obviously, but my gaming friends all picked it up.

But I hated it. It was mind numbingly boring, even as far as ARPGs are concerned, and I'm a little sick of those one way or another. Yet somehow all my friends are addicted to it to and now never play any other game. I miss them, fuck poe

Once again, like calling the robot stages a tutorial for doctor willey.
Just because they drop new mechanics on you (which they do even after "the tutorial", so I guess the whole game is one)

And yeah, its kinda hard to fuck up a VN.

20. turn-based pisses me off.

I have similar hours in Skyrim. What a let down.

I'm currently trying to force myself to play DS3. Overall I do like the game, but I don't adore it like I did Bloodborne, and the souls formula is getting a little bit thin at this point.
I got to the boss which is a large group of NPCs that can one shot you through walls. It is not an enjoyable fight in the least and I'm very not inclined to keep attempting it.

>everything felt like a chore
>except for the biggest chore in the game
It's not FFX, it's you that's the problem.

I think I've spent more hours modding the game than actually playing it at this point. I will spend a week modding it and then play it for 10 hours before quitting and deleting everything, only to do it again the next year

that was fast

Attached: metro.png (458x118, 50K)

Agreed

Thats an impressive amount of time in worst-souls 3.

PvP i assume?

Literally me. I've tried loads of times to get into it but find it so bland and uninteresting. I thought I would like it as I enjoyed MHFU but it's just boring.

Attached: souls.png (441x108, 60K)

You couldn't run it?

Dragon Quest VII
70 hours and by the end it was just fucking grating trying to grind for the tob job classes
III, V, and VIII aresome of my all time favorite games by the way

>t. below poverty line

Strangely enough, I have more fun just walking around Skyrim doing fuck all, than actually getting into combat. I can't explain this shit. Bethesda magic I think. Bunch of cunts.

Yeah. Fucktons of invading, maxed out on tongues on two characters, high SL and low SL. I don't know if there's any build I haven't been done and over with.

Monster Hunter world

it's because Skyrim combat is so fucking boring and shallow. walking around looking at the world and exploring is by far the best way to play Skyrim, or any Elder Scrolls game for that matter

>hello i havent played since 2015

Persona 5

do you do SL300+ invading? the retards who play on that SL are fun to watch

I havent done a great deal of DaS3 playing, i put like 70 hours in and just didnt really care for it.

I will maybe go back to it soon, are there any particularly good ways of getting fast / lots of souls for a new build? DaS1 has soul duping which is great - anything similar for DaS3 (without resorting to cheat engine?)

The world of Elder Scrolls even since being dumbed down is still really fascinating, and Jeremy Soule could make any walking simulator really feel epic.

>Play it when it came out
>"wow this is garbage"
>Uninstall after a couple of hours
>Everyone jerks off to it
>Play it again a couple of years later
>Manage to get halfway through before uninstalling
So many people claim they hate extremely linear, NPCs holding the door for you games, but Metro was such an obnoxiously extreme case of that. Literally muh graphics: the game.

I have, but I didn't find them to be very enjoyable. I like builds that have a goal in mind rather than being good at literally everything. I mostly stick around SL36, 60, and 125.
Just wear Shield of Want and a Silver Serpent Ring throughout the game, you can get both fairly early. If you want to farm them relatively quickly you can go to the archives where the three golden angelic knight dudes are and kill them over and over. They're easy to backstab.
