the game shits out premium gems so you can literally F2P the game and never spend a dime and still get decent characters.

Once you get a single Lvl200, which they even give away during anniversaries, you can start grinding Coop, which gives 9 gems per run if you get new players each time

I played it for characters like Rangiku, the game starts out like hot shit though but eventually gets pretty interesting(?). I think I went down some shit route because I beat it without ever getting the twins Zanpaku-to or transformation or whatever the fuck.
