I don't want to.

Why? No distros has more official packages than Debian.

>inb4 MUH AUR
>MUH PPA

Arch werks better. Plus no "teztjng" label on muh distro :^)

I uses opensuse tubleweed

Muh AUR
Muh PPA

But I am using Debian testing.

Another Debian Testing user reporting in.

aur and a decent package manager

I don't enjoy being a guinea pig

Because Debian stable just werks.

>arch works better
>an unstable distro is better
Archfags are so delusional

because apt is shit

Because I actually want to get shit done

uncropped where?

But I do

I like the stability and security of Jessie

Why the fuck am I using linux?

I don't want to rice so I can screenfetch desktop threads, I have work to do

That is why you should be using Debian, instead of meme distro like Arch.

if you used it you'd know it's not unstable, I broke debian distros more than arch.

>work
Like shitposting on Sup Forums? Normal people work on work computers. You will learn this once you get your first job.

I already did at some point. Don't worry you will grow out of testing too once you graduate from being lunix newfriend.

Pfft, I study comp sci, I'll never get a job

LMDE 2 with testing repos

>gnome paint

>unironicly using a timeskink OS
NEET

Getting Autismbux and being NEET is better anyways.

>Debian testing

So the repos aren't years but only months old? Brilliant

Whats the difference with LMDE 2 and Debian with Cinnamon installed?

One is green, the other is not.

is like Debian, but it's not. So yeah.

someone post their debian desktop

what rhe fuck is a ppa

Shitty third party packages for Ubuntu.

Because I'm using Sid master race

Did you mean
>the reasons why non-autists continue to use linux

Im not a fucking retard nigga

fuck off Chen

I vastly prefer the flexibility gentoo

daily reminder testing is not officialy supported by security team so it has literally none official packages. Stable Debian is only Debian

>Unironically having a bmi of 40
Fatty

I use stable because i want a stable machine.

>testing
>the outdatedness of stable
>the lack of support and stability of Sid
>no timely security updates
If you want Debian with stability, use stable.
If you want Debian with modern-ish packages, use Sid.

If it doesn't have to be Debian, use Gentoo stable.
Gentoo has one of the biggest official repositories of any GNU plus Linux distro.

>Gentoo has one of the biggest official repositories of any GNU plus Linux distro.
But does it also have quantity over quality approach that Debian has?
E.g. is gnome paint (broken software) included?

Not included apparently.
I've never used GNOME Paint though. Why is it broken?

Cuz I'm using the superior Fedora.

They're good, but there is also a huge trust factor

This.

But user I do

Because I use Debian Stable.

Gentoo desktop users should use ~amd64 (testing) desu. It's quite stable, actually.

Another debian (testing) user reporting in.

It really makes no sense to use anything else. I have tried: Slackware, Red hat, Fedora, Gentoo, Ubuntu, CentOS, openSuse, Arch, Linux from scratch, Void linux, backtrack, Ã…ngstrom on my 2nd gen ipod, and probably some I've forgotten.

And every time i came back to debian. It just works. Stable is fantastic for servers. I ran debian sarge on a home box for years. Testing is great for every day desktop/laptop use.

The best part? You dont have to only use stable, or testing, or unstable. There's pinning so you can have stable as main and then certain packages from testing. 'apt-get -t {stable, testing, unstable} install' works beautifully too.

Debian developers are organized into teams with team leaders. Theres quality control. There are security updates from security.debian. You can easily install a grsec kernel. Hell you dont even need to use the linux kernel, you can use the freebsd kernel, or gnu hurd if you wish. You can do whatever the fuck you want and it will just work.

Debian > *

Because Ubuntu is superior.

Debian is alright but I like Gentoo so much more.

overall, sid or testing?

>using GNU anything

DRAKE NO THANK YOU.JPG

I like you

gentoo is superior

wiki.debian.org/DontBreakDebian

Most likely you have done something stupid.

It's unfinished software that - like other, smaller unfinished software projects - gets included as Debian package for ages.
It's a poster child for Debian.

>What's your excuse Sup Forums?
Two words:
G E N T O O
E
N
T
O
O

That's a very interesting picture.

>just switched from Debian stable to Arch on my web server
>arch is noticeably faster, and now i can finally use up-to-date python, sqlite, etc
>i can now use letsencrypt instead of startssl for my free https
>installation took ~ 1 hour, using arch wiki + google as references
>no issues

feels good not to be using outdated software anymore

The ubantoo version of the AUR

>Gentoo has one of the biggest official repositories of any GNU plus Linux distro.
GNU has 0 packages, since its not a OS

Because I use OS X instead.

Because I use sid

>5 month old packages
not even sid can help you

nice bait namefag

>Not compiling your OS every night in order to get the freshest version of everything

>muh bleeding edge autism

Get out

if you can't "test" and update a software at least to the next release version in 5 months, then there's something terribly wrong

Are you the same retard that started the other b8 thread? Want a tutorial so you can stop looking like a retard?
deb-multimedia.org/

Half implemented systemd back when I used it making impossible to do anything.

I switched to Ubuntu server and never looked back

>Windows isn't enough of a botnet, better go for the bottiest botnet I can botnet

How is OS X more of a botnet than Windows 10, which brazenly spies on everyone who uses it?

I hate debian. It has lots of fucked up bugs because the dev team is incompetent. And fuck apt.

Also I use windows 10 now. Just werks for muh games. Come at me bro.

Still more reliable than Windows...
