Let's face it. AMD is finished.

Rest in pieces AMD.

7.5

I WISH I WAS JOKING. Gonna have to go with AMD this time.

>le most advanced gpu ever made
do they say this with each new one? it seems kind of redundant

You don't even understand what that eludes to.
You just badly want it to be like 1.7% & woodscrews.

Why do people even care about these cards? No 1080Ti and no Fury successor means that neither company has revealed a card that actually means something.

Yep. I honestly can't see amd catching up with this. I'll probably pick up a 1070 this December when it gets slightly cheaper or maybe January when they drop the prices to accommodate for the 1080ti.

Are you unironically defending nvidia?

1060 is where its at

buying a 980 was a mistake, should have held onto my 670 a little longer
at least it was an evga b-stock 980 for 300 bucks
why doesn't NVidia have any workstation cards with >= 16GB of GDDR5/+ memory? More importantly, while NOT sacrificing output ports..?

damnit... this woulda been so sexy...

Wait for Vega or possibly 1080Ti. Technically not workstation cards but Vega flagship will have 16GB of HMB2, and the 1080Ti is poised to compete with it.

hmmmm

possible, but I actually was just looking at AMD's FirePro W9100 again, and they are apparently coming out with a 32GB model.

amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/workstation/firepro-3d/9100#

Doesn't seem to show up yet, but they say there's a 32GB, so maybe it's sold out or just not updated.

I just can't see why not.
>512-bit
>320GB/s
>6 mini-DP outs.

I could slam 3 of these motherfuckers together and run an unfathomably powerful AI system

>I could slam 3 of these motherfuckers together
I'll be your bitch if you let me touch it.

If AMD is able to release something that matches the 980ti at $300 like rumors were saying earlier, wouldn't two of those crossfired beat out the 1080 with the DirectX 12 multi-gpu improvements?

same. i'm sort of excited for the 1070 due to price and performance. I mean it's great for price wise considering how much people spen ton 980 ti's.

not a rich fag or someone who spends 1000 for 1 extra GPS

also the temps seem to be much better on pascal

yeah, found the article:
anandtech.com/show/10253/amd-announces-32gb-firepro-w9100

You will wear a Lolita maid dress with a collar, and you will clean the cooling fans with a Q-Tip, and maybe user-sama will even let you watch multimonitor EyeFinity anime with him.

^.^

>eludes

Welp, I found a reason to upgrade from my 670.

holy shit go back to Sup Forums

Disregard this, it looks like I was behind on my rumors. Looks like the latest rumors are saying closer to 390x performance for polaris 10. Those are still weaker than the 980, and supposedly the 1080 beats sli 980s.

Doesn't look good for AMD, but I'm waiting for benchmarks for both sides before I pick anything up anyways.

Im not going to be that guy but I would be not as angry as the 970 3.5 shitstorm

Even if they disable .5 gigs, what game will need more than 7.5 Gigs?

Why would they be finished for not beating Nvidia in the superexpensive category? Most of the market is low-end, mid-range-to-high-end for gamurs.

One week it is AMD FINISHED!

The next week it's NVIDIA BTFO!

I mean if the 970 is stronger than the Titan X, all they need to do is to release a 1060 for $200-250 with the performance of the 980.

Then release a 1050.. And ungimped version of the 970 for 170-180

Welcome to Sup Forums

I didn't mean they'd be finished, but Nvidia will definitely be beating them in price/performance with the 1070 too. AMD will definitely win the low-end, although there are still the 1060 and 1060ti to worry about eventually. Also, Polaris 11 looks like it'll be great for laptops.

>7.5

7.5GiB = 8GB

learn the facts before you shill, amdrone. all of AMD's '8GB' GPUs are exactly the same in this regard.

rumor puts the 480 between 390 and furyx because the only "benchmark" we have is a hitman demo going at max either 1080 or 1440p and never going below 60

THAT SAID, when games are properly optimized for dx12 and vulcan (assuming here on vulcan) a 390x can beat out a 980ti and even oc is trading blows with a 980ti

im assuming going forward there wont be another dx11 only graphical powerhouse, so if the card is able to at least match a 390 on dx11 it would be a fantastic gpu for now and future use.

word of mouth and brand recognition really pays off when you have the best card and people are using it. most people dont look at a product like and see good and bad things, they know a brand is known for being good so everything they do must be gold.

its why in most industry, you see things like car makers haveing some of the shittest cars they produce under one brand, but their high end shit under another, same parent company.

tech companies arent really able to do this, and some of the best companies are oem's that we never see the face of. i mean how many chips are micron or samsung in shit, but are marketed as another brand entirely?

rember 3.5 of the 4gb? that's what this is a reference to.

I hope Polaris has similar VR performance solutions, or their goal of being the cheap entrance to VR is already worthless.

Nope.

True. Fury x was proof that you can get away with 4GB, even at 4k.

gonna upgrade from a 770 to a 1070

how big of a leap is this gonna be (don't give it in terms of TLOPS or whatever i want an analogy)

A few days of amazement followed by a yearning for even more power

Well it's new technology each time, so technically they're not lying when they say it's the most advanced gpu ever made (by nvidia)

>"I don't understand the concept of advancement"

Holy shit just fuck off and die

Source? Seriously, I wanna know if Nvidia actually gimped the last 0.5GB like they did with the 970.

>232mm^2 vs 300mm^2
Yeah no, AMD has vastly more room to stretch out and build enormous cores.
Expect ultra high end chips to have AMD 30% better than nvidia.

>what is memory bandwidth

Muh gaymz

pretty much this

Nvidia has shot it's load. There will be no 1080TI anytime soon. The dies simply don't allow it. The yields on these cards is probably piss.

youtube.com/watch?v=Dnn0rgDaSro

gonna go with AMD too
>cpu's by intel (at least before zen comes out)
>gpu's by AMD

>mfw have to start shopping for gsync monitors now
Fuck you AMD. you had one job

Possibly 250% increase
1080p low-medium games will be 1440p ultra 60fps games

Pretty much this.

sick of nvidia gimping cards and flat out lying about DX12 support on Maxwell

too bad only AMD cucked us and we have to wait longer :(

He has no fucking clue.

no one cares you retard gpu flag ships are pro-types being beta tested for the mid to low of the next generation

Crossfire is a mess
